Happy birthday Freddie!!! This is from the band's 1976 album " A Day At The Races ". I love both the live and studio version, although this studio version really does show off the band's harmonies to full effect. We couldn't of asked for a better reaction and reactor , to celebrate the great man's birthday!!!🎈🥳
I am so happy that you did this! Happy Birthday, my dear Freddie. I am such a harmony junkie in the first place. His music will never die. Long live Freddie and Queen. Thank you so much! If you are going to do more Queen, I suggest 'It's Late" a hidden gem of theirs.
Happy Birthday, Freddie. If you want proof of how special & loved Freddie is, check out the Sotheby’s auction of his personal belongings. The bid for that tropical motif shirt he is wearing in the studio is currently $19,000. USD. 👑 RIP King of Queen
So happy to see you pretty lady! I'm loving that you wanted to celebrate Freddie's 77th Birthday, even though he left us far too soon he gave us his incredible music that will out live us all 👑
@@anne-mariesindruprix4792 It's amazing how just the 3 of them could produce such an outstanding vocal effect ( Freddie , Brian and Roger ..Multilayers) but then again all 3 had great voices so no real surprise!
@Do_Itt_Miaaa Thanks so much for this tribute for Freddie's birthday!!! The group is phenomenal together and Fred's vocals are so perfect in 'Somebody to Love' as in soooo many other songs! Thank you soo much ❣ PS: Queen didn't even acknowledge that a 'box' exists 😊
So glad you love Queen. I grew up in that era. Their music unites millions of people in unison, singing, clapping, crying. Just look at Covid times. What were people singing off their balconies on lockdown? Queen. Their music has pulled me and many others out of very dark places. I love the guys so much and miss Freddie every day. Thank you for your video!
Thank you so much for the birthday tribute to our dear Freddie. I played his music all weekend up to today. He brought us so much joy and love through his music. We miss him dearly but we know he's in the Lap of the Gods celebrating 💖❤💫👑🎉🥳
@@michaelv9929 Lol you caught that. Yes I was indeed happy because Freddie always made a big splash for his bd, so it's great to continue the tradition. Have a great day Mike and Mia

Freddie for recording studio level genius too, he really knew how to layer sounds even before digital recording. Their live performance was just a good but for different reasons. But was sick what they could do in the studio
I was wondering when you were gonna do this studio version .. and it's been long when you did the live version, but you chose a good day to react😂 .. great song
So glad you are reacting to the studio version on this! The harmonies and arrangement are just so beautiful. Queen (along with the fabulous BeeGees) is in my top 10 fave groups! Great reaction!❤❤❤
Happy Birthday My Fairy King 👈(Song you should check out). Anyway, this is my favorite Queen song! Freddie commented that even tho Bohemian Rhapsody was a well-written song, he felt that Somebody To Love was a better composition! ❤ Freddie was inspired by his love for Aretha Franklin! 😊
HBD to Freddie! If you want more proof that they can bring it outside of the studio an onto the stage with an even MORE powerful version, check out the live version of this song from 1981 in Montreal. Freddie takes us to church!
You've reacted to both this one and the live one now. Each one is moving in a different way to me. The live version shows the power of Freddie's voice while the studio version is more spiritually moving and polished with the 'gospel' sound.
Truly an incredibly band Freddie's voice range is amazing, maybe you can check out Queen at Live Aid and see how the fans react to them and there were legends to play there
Mia as always great reaction love seeing your smile especially when you hear and feel great music and super proud of you lets go 30000 we are about there
A few suggestions for groups/performers you haven't sèem to have touched. In memory of Jimmy Buffett who passed away September 1 either Come Monday, which he wrote for his future wife, or Margaritaville his most famous song. You may want to do Jethro Tull. I would suggest Locomotive Breath. If you do them do live performances. Supertramp probably The Logical Song. You may also want to do the late Harry Chapin. He was best known for Cats In The Cradle although my personal favourite song is She Sings Her Songs Without Words. He also had a major hit with Taxi. There is the late Gordon Lightfoot, If You Could Read My Mind (he was Bob Dylan's favourite songwriter)
DRAGON ATTACK, SAVE ME, SAIL AWAY SWEET SISTER, DONT TRY SUICIDE, NEED YOUR LOVING TONIGHT, and ROCK IT (PRIME JIVE) are some of my favorite songs by Queen. And they are all from one album. THE GAME was the first cassette I bought from the group. A year later, I was forced to buy a new one because it was worn thin from repeated playing. The CD can take the punishment of constant play. But there is a backup in my collection just in case. Enjoy
Such a beautiful video for Freddie’s birthday. I do love the live in Montreal version of this song, but the Studio version is just magnificent. The way they harmonize is like no other. And Freddie’s vocals are perfection. Loved your reaction❤️☺️
Thanks, Miaa - as fantastic as the live version is, there is more fine-tuning and great detailed harmonies on the "official" album version.. (you really get that Aretha-inspired gospel "call-back" sound that Freddie intended) Enjoy your reactions..
Check out the George Michael live version from the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert. STL is one of Queens strongest tracks. Freddie considered it better than Bohemian Rhapsody.
This was beautiful. The song, the reaction, and you of course. For a fun banger try Queens" Fat Bottom Girls." It's Freddy and Brian's tribute like Sir Mixalot. It's a great song. God bless ya. You're taking off.
The song of a child sexual abuse survivor. Thank you Freddie. Thank you for the music. We miss you. Gen X, " we have the legends." Oh we can't forget the rest of the group. Still listening, still in awe, crying now you're gone.
Sir Bri's solos always fit the song. Many guitarists just shred to shred, he wants to fit the song. That made some people find Queen "uncool".... hah jokes on them
This was actually his favourite song, so purrfect choice. Live versions are better for a lot of reasons, but one thing this studio version has which can't be replicated live are all those impeccably beautiful harmonies. They were pioneers in making music videos before MTV was a thing. They hated miming for Top of the pops, so they started doing their own. Ironically, the very first music video, which was so groundbreaking, is the one you infamously disliked! ;)
The greatest Rock n Roll band of all-time! Listen to more and learn how to play real, real music around. Get yourself some muscians not computer crap and learn like i did, seriously girl.
No he wasn’t… in fact, besides choir at boarding school as a boy, he had *no* vocal training at all. He didn’t learn any *formal* vocal techniques until he collaborated with Montserrat Caballé in 87. He worked very hard to develop his voice by self-motivation and repeatedly practicing to develop his unique tonal qualities.
Now watch the live version. It's even better, miraculously. That may be hard to believe but it's Queen. Trust me and many other commenters i assume are/will/have commented.
The comment I left on here isn't visible anymore! Not the first time she's heard Queen , her channel has lots of Queen Reactions. First time hearing this version of the song.
Freddie felt this was perhaps the best song he had written and he loved performing it live so perfect choice for his 77th Birthday. Thank you.
