You might be interested to know that all 4 band members are not just very talented musicians (and handsome)… but also VERY intelligent and educated outside of music ! Freddie Mercury - Certificate in Art and Graphic Design, Ealing Art College Brian May - PhD is Astrophysics (!) - Imperial College at University of London Roger Taylor - BSc in Biology - East London Polytechnic (now known as University of East London) John Deacon - First Honours in Electronic Engineering (and at least started his Masters in Acoustics and Vibration Technology) - Chelsea College (now King’s College London) associated with University of London. As you can see, not one of them actually MAJORED in Music at all - they pursued music as a passion, not for a degree in it.
Queen is a British rock band that was formed in 1970 and was comprised of: Freddie Mercury - Lead vocals and piano Roger Taylor - Drummer and vocals Brian May - Lead guitar and vocals John Deacon - Bass guitar Queen is a rare group that is actually BETTER in live performances than in the studio. Check out "Somebody To Love" live in Montreal in 1981 - ua-cam.com/video/aA2IRoPFIn0/v-deo.html FYI - You should see Freddie in his silver sequin jumpsuit on stage.
Love your reaction and your energy. I just subscribed. Some others have suggested watching somebody To love live in Montreal 1981, and I totally agree. I would definitely suggest anything life from the concert in Montreal 1981, My personal favorites from this concert are another one bites, the dust, save me, under pressure, and dragon attack. Also, you should react to Live Aid.
Magnificent Freddie Mercury (on the piano) wrote this! He joins them in the harmonies with Roger Taylor(drummer) on the left and Brian May (guitarist) tall guy in the center. Later they are joined in harmony singing by John Deacon (bass player) on the far left - but it's for the video as he doesn't sing much at all. John does write great songs though, like "Another One Bites The Dust", "You're My Best Friend", & "I Want to Break Free". This shows them singing into a single mic which I've read IS the way they used to record in early days. Listen for the high notes in the harmonies & you'll see those are Roger (the blond) as you can watch him pull them up. Of course, Freddie sings his lovely falsettos in the lyrics too. Lots of talent. Enjoy
Agreed. All people your age and younger say they don’t make bands like this anymore or lyrics and music. And we all fell in love with Freddie and the rest. Watch out your rubber bands are going to snap with awe.
These bandmates will be your new music pals. All fab musicians, all songwriters, all with their own style but always with a Queen sound. Confidence - oh, you bet! They were perfectionists in the studio and deducated entertainers with a fresh onstage take. Try their song sampler: Their set at Live Aid 1985 (21 mins.) Global Benefit Concert to help famine victims in Ethiopia. It's a page of rock history. Use the link that opens with two British "officers" comedy duo to avoid cut off at end.
4 person group, Freddie, singer, piano and guitar, Brian May, guitar and singer and Roger Taylor, singer and drummer and they added John Deacon who played bass. Fantastic group
New subscriber! I love seeing people’s first reaction to Queen! Definitely do their live performances…you won’t be disappointed! Live Aid ‘85, Wembley July’86, Montreal ‘81…can’t wait to see your next reaction
With Queen you should always do "Live" versions. You have to watch Freddie. He is the ultimate front man. I think you should do the Live in Montreal version of this song.
Great reaction, surely you've heard of Queen ... "Another One Bites the Dust" ... "We Will Rock You" .... "We are the Champions" yes it's all them, however you should never do a studio version of Queen, it should always be a LIVE one. They're the only band in history that sounded better LIVE than in the studio !!!! RIP my beautiful hero Freddie Mercury 💛💛💛💛💛💛 This song was a tribute to Arethra Franklin. Do the live version in Montreal 1981 you will be blow away !!!!!
Love your comment, but I beg to differ on one point: Chris Stapleton and his band (or Chris Stapleton along, for that matter) sound WAY better live and, like Queen, should ALWAYS be watched live (for the sound, natch, but also for the added value of watching them play, which adds a whole other dimension and appreciation, at least for me and many others who've commented to this effect). And...speaking of Chris Stapleton (which I do...a lot, lol) I think you should add him to your list, IMO, for lots of reasons, one of which is that he will surprise you in the same way Home Free did, I think, with...well, never mind. I was going to write it, but I don't want to ruin the surprise for you! A good start, and one that blows a lot of Black reactors' minds and sends the down the SRH (Stapleton Rabbit Hole) is Tennessee Whiskey. Maybe you could just add this to your list of songs to react to as soon as you get the chance? Thanks in advance (and you'll probably wind up thanking me back, because Stapleton's another, like Home Free and Pentatonix, that has a huge following that, at least in the past, has really shown up and blown up reactors' channels! ua-cam.com/video/IBLruNfUqUs/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ChrisStapletonVEVO
Great reaction!! Other Queen Suggestions: - Don't stop me now (amazing) - Innuendo (a very deep song) - Another one bites the dust (very rhythmic) - Who wants to live forever/official video (a sad and beautiful song) - I want it all (very strong) - Bohemian rhapsody (masterpiece) - Under pressure - We are the champions - Save me - A kind of magic - You´re my best friend - Its a hard life ¡Saludos, desde Argentina!
Welcome to Queen. Freddie Mercury - lead vocals, Brian May on guitar, Roger Taylor on drums and John Deacon on bass. As awesome as this video is, the live version in Montreal is even better. Freddie is my all time favorite frontman. May I recommend more Queen for you? Bohemian Rhapsody (official video), Under Pressure live at Wembley (the 5:56 minute version), Another One Bites the Dust live at Wembley, LIveAid (which is considered the best 20 minute live performance ever), Don't Stop Me Now, White Queen live at the Odeon. Thanks for the great reaction. You are going to love their music as you go down the rabbit hole.
Thanks so much, Just! Freddie was inspired by Aretha Franklin... he took us to church with the gospel sound and the call-backs... everyone's gonna say do the Live at Montreal - which you definitely SHOULD.. but this was the intended sound and arrangement.. so I'm glad you heard it first! John didn't sing ( bassist) It was Roger ( drummer) Brian ( guitarist) and Freddie all did the backing harmonies Freddie did the harmonies by himself on some of his songs
