great info. looking forward to making the upgrades. do you have any upgrades for this v6, exhaust and engine mods? more power. I have made some home made upgrades and increased power and fuel efficiently. what do you have?
When you took the Colorado badging off is there a way to make sure you don’t chip the paint.. I don’t want to mess the paint up on my brand new Colorado
There's almost no way you would chip the paint as long as you use fishing string to remove the letters and then just some adhesive remover to get the remaining double sided tape off. Basically exactly what I did in this video. I've removed a bunch of emblems/letters this way and never had a problem with chipped paint.
Went to remove my badging and they hid a paint flaw under the Chevy emblem on the tailgate so had to order new badging and reinstall. Must have been painted on a Friday at 4:45. lol
What are your thoughts on the pillar trim of the Colorado? I’m thinking either chrome it out(black truck/chrome) or vinyl wrap it in gloss black to match the truck.

What is the name of the interior led lights bulbs and back up lights too? I have a 2018 redline I have the black out package on the truck already.
That redline edition is awesome! You can get the bulbs for the interior here: amzn.to/2G8FzP5
and tail lights/cargo lights here: amzn.to/2E76vwi
Where do you order your parts from. I put that part number in on Chevy app for the bezels and no results.
tascaparts.com for the black fog light trim. Part numbers: 84219415 and 84219416.
I have read that some of the leds burn out. Have you had any problems in this regard?
No problems yet (and hopefully never) all the LED's I've put in the truck so far have held up perfectly.
Hey really like all the mods you’ve done on ur Colorado, where did ya get the black fog light trim molding?
tascaparts.com for the black fog light trim. Part numbers: 84219415 and 84219416.
great info. looking forward to making the upgrades. do you have any upgrades for this v6, exhaust and engine mods? more power. I have made some home made upgrades and increased power and fuel efficiently. what do you have?
So far I've done an air intake and that's it. I'm still kicking around the idea of an exhaust but I haven't found any I like the sound of.
How do you think black badging would look on a black truck?
I think it would look awesome!
Where did you get the black bevel covers for the fog lights?
You can try tascaparts.com. Part numbers: 84219415 and 84219416.
Must have been painted on a Friday at 4:45. lol
Is GM the only place to buy the blacked out fog light trimming?
GM and the GM retailers online. I found it cheapest at tascaparts.com.
HorsePower Obsessed awesome man thanks! Your videos have helped me out a lot. I appreciate it bud.
No problem! Thank YOU!
Do you have a link to the black bezel trim pieces I can only find the left side thanks !!!!
I don't have a link but I have the part numbers. 84219416, and 84219415.
HorsePower Obsessed thank you !!!
What are your thoughts on the pillar trim of the Colorado? I’m thinking either chrome it out(black truck/chrome) or vinyl wrap it in gloss black to match the truck.
I would do gloss black to match. In my case the flat black already matches a good bit of the stuff on the truck so I'll leave it.
Do you have a link to where you bought the black bezels?
www.tascaparts.com/ part numbers are 84219416 and 84219415
@@HorsePowerObsessed Got them thanks
Have you had issues with water leaking into the cab from possibly the third brake light area? Also love the mods on your truck. Slowly getting upgrades for mine
Yes and no. I have an update video coming soon to show exactly how to stop that from happening.
hey man keep it up! i wanna know where did you buy the COLORADO black letters thanks man!
Gmpartsprime.com. Part number 84113503.
Did you have to go to a chevrolet dealership for the foglight bezels? I have a '16 colorado lt in a similar color as yours and i agree that the blacked out bezels look better. Great vid!
Thank you! I ordered them online from a parts site but you can get them at the dealership as well.
@@HorsePowerObsessed what site did you use?
Tascaparts.com
Oh man that red line badging... thinking about that on my black ZR2 (also don't like chrome)
Apparently the badging on the 21's and up is bigger so if you have a 15 - 20 it will work. Gmpartsprime.com. Part number 84113503.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Just bought a 2021 ZR2 Bison so nogo, I might plastidip them red, though! Thanks!
where did you get the blacked out bezel for the front lights?
tascaparts.com
Looking to replace chrome window trim on rear door on a extended cab 2019 colorado. How does it come off
Hi there
Where can i find the fenders flares like yours and thanks for all tips.
You're quite welcome! You can find them here: amzn.to/3gzLP0o
On Amazon, the link you put for the interior lights says it doesn’t fit a 2019 z71, is Amazon incorrect?
Yes they are incorrect. They definitely fit.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks! Also we need some more Colorado vids my man!!!
Very professionally done video... Awesome upgrades and detailed helpful procedures. Quick question...Do you know if the below listed Amazon sold LEDS will function in the interior lighting (map and done) where you replaced in the video... Amazon states they're compatible??? I'm not sure, the ones I put in the truck here are listed in the description, those are the ones I tested and know will fully work.
Thanks for your prompt response. Appreciate it.
You bet! Anytime!
I have a '15 Colorado Z71. Any chance that you know if the fog light trim pieces would fit? Comparing the two, it appears they will. But the GM part number starts for '17s and up.
It will fit! They're all the same from 15 and up as long as you have fog lights you're good to go. 👍
About how much did u pay for fog light trim, got a 17 and would like to do same, great videos
@@wozywoz8634 Thanks! They were about 23 dollars a piece.
What did you use to remove the adhesive from the chrome badging?
I used this stuff here: amzn.to/3k3jiTw
Do you have the item numbers for leds inside lights for a 2012 Colorado? When I click that link it say they don’t fit my vehicle
They will definitely fit. Amazon is almost always wrong about fitment. I have verified they will fit any Colorados from 2015 - 20201.
Truck looks awesome, have you had any problems with the transmission, I’ve been reading some bad reviews on that.
I had 2 different Colorados and never had that issue!
When you removed the letters, was that fishing line or something else? I think the red/black letters would look awesome on my Kinetic Blue '18.
Yes I used the heat gun and some fishing line. It would definitely look awesome on your Colorado!
What is the link to the fog light bezels on Amazon?
It's not on amazon. tascaparts.com for the black fog light trim. Part numbers: 84219415 and 84219416.
Hey got another question for you. Do u need a adaptor for the led head lights. Or can I just buy led bulbs and put them in. Not sure how that works. Let's me know thanks
The LED headlights are plug and play. The LED turn signals would require a resistor be wired in.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks a lot. You get a 👍
@UCWO1OTO_yX58sgWInE-UAqA one more thing. What would you recommend for the best led head lights on a budget. High and low thanks again
@@actionpaco2852 Thank you!
@@actionpaco2852 That I'm not 100% sure yet. I have 4 different kinds I will be testing shortly in my Colorado and I'll let you know which one is the best. All 4 are under 60 dollars but I haven't tested them enough to give my opinion on which is the best. I know for sure the foglight offerings from JDM Astar are TOP notch but the jury is still out on the headlight LEDs.
Where'd you get the black "Colorado" Emblems that you placed in this video? From the reviews I've seen from a few on Amazon, there are some out there that don't exactly match up with the stock ones.
These are the black Colorado logos on the side of the doors, and the one on the back of the truck
I purchased the "Redline" edition badging from GMPartsPrime.com. Part # 84113503
That's correct. The redline badging is black on the front with a touch of red inside the lettering.
Man the truck is looking great J. Nice job on the mods. Wish there was a clean way to black out the 6 on the v6 badge. Nice job nonetheless. 😉👍
Thanks, JT! It's coming along!
You got a link for those fog light trims? And i don’t know if they make them but a link for the headlight ones as well?
Only the fog light trim for some reason. You can go to tascaparts.com and search for part numbers: 84219415 and 84219416
Any chance you could link the black fog light bezels?
You can try tascaparts.com. Part numbers: 84219415 and 84219416.

@@HorsePowerObsessed is tasca reliable?
Yes. They have some of the best prices out there and I have bought from them many times.
I cant find the black fog light trim anywhere. everything says its a discontinued part. same for the black lettering. any advice??
Fog Light trim comes from tascaparts.com but I'm getting reports that GM may have changed the part numbers for the fog light trim. Let me see what I can find.

Hi, I bought the lights you recommended, however I am getting an error message when I put on the new LED lights on the ID/Tail light on the back and the house lights are the long "fuse "type and cannot work. Do you have another set of light you recommend?
Another cheap mod you can do is to fill the bed stakes for a more seamless look. They sell them on amazon
I saw those! I'm planning on getting them soon! 👍👍
Are the LEDs the same for the cargo lights as the reverse lights? What's the link for the license plate lights. Thanks man

No. The seal stays pretty sticky.

The same ones work for 2015 all the way up to 2020.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Thanks. I bought the ones you listed in your video and I was having a bit of an issue getting all the clips to align. I just wanted to make sure.
They should snap in pretty easily but yeah the part is the same for 5 years of the truck.

Interesting. I'm glad you got it, though.
