@@HorsePowerObsessed ah ok, must be the camera or my computer then, because it looked orange to me. I was looking at similar ones for my f150, went with the smoked ones instead Thanks for the reply!

I just got the flares for mine and will be putting them on this weekend. I want to do the double sided tape for the rear like you. So what brand and type did you use?
I would definitely recommend doing it this way. I used the 3M tape linked here: amzn.to/2CARIJc I have used this stuff a lot in the past and it is without a doubt the best double sided tape I've ever tried... and I've tried A LOT.

Hey have you had any issues with cops and the taillights? They put a warning on the box saying basically they are illegal but they seem reflective and definitely visible from 1000 feet. I dont see any issue but have you had any and also will it pass an inspection
I have had no issues. I've passed inspection once with them already without any question. They are brighter than stock so they are definitely visible from 1000 feet.
That's what I thought as well, they've much brighter and visible. I think what they are looking for is the ones with smoke outer glass rather than just kinda of a black mouldings inside. Thank you for getting back to me so fast, these are gonna look great on the orange Colorado!!!😁
I have a 2021 im trying to get these but everywhere I try to order say they won't fit. Id assume all colorados since 2016 would be the same. Any idea if these would fit a 2021? Or is there a difference between the years that would cause these not to fit on mine.
Really have been enjoying following the 2018 Colorado mods. The part you link for the vanity lights is no longer available from Amazon. I looked for a replacement but I’m somewhat confused. The linked part is 30mm but some of the others which say they will fit are 28mm or 29mm. I was hopeful you’d be able to recommend an alternate part. Thanks.
Hey man, love the video! Been doing some shopping on amazon before I found this video and you put on the same taillights and 3rd brake light that are in my cart. The only problem I'm having is the 3rd brake light says it will only fit 2015-2018 Colorado and I have a 2019. Do you know if that 3rd brake light will fit a 2019? Can't seem to find one anywhere that says "compatible with 2019 Colorado."
Thank you for this video, I like those fender flares you got! I have gmc canyon 2016, is that fender flares fit in mu truck too? And where can i buy those fender flares the one on the link says they cant shipped that here in canada SK I really like those fender any idea where i can buy? Please and thank you 😊
It's not. There's a video coming soon but you can easily fix the issue with it to have a stock like experience. I love the look too much to put the stock stuff back on.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Hey Justin what did you have to do? I ordered the same one from ebay along with a "good" gasket from amazon. My bad if I missed the followup video
I've read a lot about the issue of fender flares causing rust because of all the water and dirt trapped underneath. I'm wondering what yours or anyone with experience thoughts are on sealing the outside with flex seal or a silicone caulk?
I had the same 3rd brake light, but the clear plastic yellowed really badly after about 5 months in the Vegas sun. Found a different one on Amazon that I really like though...
@@HorsePowerObsessed It's entirely possible they've changed the plastic to make it more UV resistant, or your truck doesn't see as much sun as mine (it's almost always sunny and hot in Vegas). Either way, just keep an eye on it, and enjoy the truck!
I've never heard the resistors failing but water getting inside of the wires would cause some shorting out to happen. The grease and silicon definitely stops that as long as it's applied correctly.
They are holding up well! They had an issue with water that I fixed in a very easy way and I will be making a video of said fix soon! I love them though, totally worth it.
I put silicone around the base. I squeezed out about a half inch bead all the way around because the base does not fit flush against the body. I haven't had any issues that I can see so far it's been about six months. There is a gasket available but since the light isn't flush you would still need some silicone.
That and the tail lights completely change the rear end of this truck and I wasn't willing to let it go due to some leaking so I found a way to fix it... An easy and cheap way to fix it.
Everyone that I saw that stopped using them was getting water in through the rear of the wire harness. I put silicone there to stop water from being to get in so I should be good.

Thanks, man! These ones will work: amzn.to/2Q8IFsu
Thank you! Yes it will fit. It will fit any Colorado up to 2020.
Thank you for this video,
I like those fender flares you got!
I have gmc canyon 2016, is that fender flares fit in mu truck too?
And where can i buy those fender flares the one on the link says they cant shipped that here in canada SK
I really like those fender any idea where i can buy? Please and thank you 😊
I don't think the Colorado flares fit the canyon. You should be able to find them on GMs accessory page.
Is the LED 3rd brake light still standing up? Just wanted your long term review as Matty said it seemed not as good quality as stock. Cheers!
Follow up is coming soon!
I've read a lot about the issue of fender flares causing rust because of all the water and dirt trapped underneath. I'm wondering what yours or anyone with experience thoughts are on sealing the outside with flex seal or a silicone caulk?
The outside is sealed with double sided tape. I really don't see how anything could get trapped in there...
I had the same 3rd brake light, but the clear plastic yellowed really badly after about 5 months in the Vegas sun. Found a different one on Amazon that I really like though...
Wow. It's been ok for me for a few months now. Hopefully that doesn't happen to mine, though! 😬
@@HorsePowerObsessed It's entirely possible they've changed the plastic to make it more UV resistant, or your truck doesn't see as much sun as mine (it's almost always sunny and hot in Vegas). Either way, just keep an eye on it, and enjoy the truck!
I definitely will! Thanks for the tip!
I bought some fog lights after market but don’t know how to install them do you have a video
Aftermarket bulbs you mean or the whole assembly?
HorsePower Obsessed yes
Yes all assembly
Specifically, the trim tool you are using?
Harbor Freight - bit.ly/2vcQnrf
Where did you get the fender flares from and how much were they?
I got them from amazon. You can find them here: OEM fender flares - amzn.to/2u2EH6f
I just got the same third brake light and it came with a different connector did you have to put an adaptor on yours?
I did not. Did you get the one for the new Colorado and not the old one?
@@HorsePowerObsessed so I actually just checked the part number on the box to my Amazon order and they sent me the wrong part.
Heard resisters fail on the tail lights, will the grease help with that?
I've never heard the resistors failing but water getting inside of the wires would cause some shorting out to happen. The grease and silicon definitely stops that as long as it's applied correctly.
How are the tail lights holding up I’m thinking on getting these for my truck
They are holding up well! They had an issue with water that I fixed in a very easy way and I will be making a video of said fix soon! I love them though, totally worth it.
@@HorsePowerObsessed What did you do fix them?
I’m thinking forced induction. Supercharger or turbo for passing power and improved interstate cruising.
Hey man! Did you do anything special to the third tail light to prevent that from leaking around the edges?
I didn't at first but I just recently had an issue. I will be making a video showing how to fix it. Stay tuned!
I put silicone around the base. I squeezed out about a half inch bead all the way around because the base does not fit flush against the body. I haven't had any issues that I can see so far it's been about six months. There is a gasket available but since the light isn't flush you would still need some silicone.
Did you notice any loss of radio reception with the stubby antenna?
I have noticed no difference in reception. 👍
I am planning on purchasing one of these in the next year or so...how reliable is it?
I have had no problems at all! Check out my one year review video!
HorsePower Obsessed Sounds great. Thanks man!
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Do these LED lights fit on a 2021 Z71 Chevy Colorado?
Yes they sure do.
Love your vids man where you located at in pa ? I'm near Scranton
Thank you! I am about 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh.
Getting me new 2020 Colorado midnight edition.
Very nice! 👍
Do these tail light cause hyperflash?
No. I have an updated video coming soon talking about all the specifics.
Any radio reception changes with the stubby antenna ? Looks good
None that I have noticed.
I’m having trouble taking the harness off, any suggestions?
Which harness?
Truck is looking good👍 you should put on some spacers
I might get some 1.5" spacers but I'm toying with the idea of going completely aftermarket.
Gotcha, I have the same truck I’m also planning on getting spacers and fender flares and probably the blacked out headlights and taillights
I'm thinking about the headlights... Already thought about the spacers. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.
Excellent video !👍
Thank you!
How well did the silicone do for protecting it from water?
It did well. Just make sure you use a quality silicone.
Any trouble with that 3rd brake light leaking?
Just recently yes, I have a video detailing an easy fix coming soon!
Got one coming in the mail soon. Good to know before putting it on. Thanks man!
That and the tail lights completely change the rear end of this truck and I wasn't willing to let it go due to some leaking so I found a way to fix it... An easy and cheap way to fix it.
I have a 2018 canyon will those fit mine can I order the from the links u put up?
The third brake light and led brake lights WILL fit the canyon as well! Verified!
Edit: verified fitment. The links will work for you as well.
@@HorsePowerObsessed Thank u very much man 👍👍👍
@@tommyforbidden3219 you're welcome!
Lookin' good !
Thanks!
What does the dealership and factory warranty have to say about the led lights?
Whit
Nothing at all. If they were to fail obviously GM wouldn't cover the repair for me, but I wouldn't take it in for that anyway.
Will the tail lights fit the 2020 model?
Yes they sure will!
Where did you buy the third brake light????
Right here: amzn.to/3TVbYLu
And don't worry, it will fit any Colorado from 15 up to 22.
Thanks bro 😎
You’re very welcome
Those tail lights look awesome... too bad they don’t have them anymore on Amazon.
Try here: amzn.to/2K9nOlC
Excellent. Thank you. As always, this video is aces.
Glad it was helpful!
Go Pack Go! 🤘😎🤘
Heck yes!
There’s another guy on UA-cam (Matt1003) that changed the taillights too, but ended up putting old ones back. I forget why though
Everyone that I saw that stopped using them was getting water in through the rear of the wire harness. I put silicone there to stop water from being to get in so I should be good.
Ok, big guy.... It's been 2 months, how is the 3rd light and the taillights holding up?
Well it's been almost a year and they are holding up well. I have an update video coming soon!
I don’t have silicone can I use a hot glue gun instead to cover up the wires ?
Ideally you want something that will stay pliable and not crack in the cold.
