Brock, great video. Any thoughts on the watch website 49under.com? I’ve gotten a few great pieces there and the story with them is that all of their watches are under $50.
I am a woman who likes to dress slightly androgynous and I've been rocking a cheap battery-powered watch for years and am finally able to afford a "nicer" automatic watch and your suggestions helped a lot.
I wear the Casio Resin when I’m headed to the store or running quick errands. It humbles me. It reminds me that a 10 dollar watch can still look amazing and classy.
I came across this video because I want to gift my boyfriend a watch that will walk with him to success and will make him feel elegant. Thanks to you I have learned so much about watches. Thank you for making this video. I don't know whether to choose a Seiko Neo Classic, Seiko 5 Automatic, or an Orient Tri Star.
I always love your videos, though I have to admit, I thought I knew all the budget watch options, so I wasn’t really that excited about this video going in. I knew probably 80-90% of these, but you had several that I have genuinely never heard of that I’m excited to check out. Thanks for a great video as always!
I'm very pleasantly surprised. Many lifestyle and fashion channels make a fool of themselves when talking about watches, but this list could as well be from a designated watch channel, everything important is here. The only things in that price range which were not included are vintage pieces and Chinese specials, but those are arguably more niche anyways.
Great video. I might have reached a point you probably did not consider at first. Living in a country where the exchange rate to the US dollar is 1 to 6, and earning in such a currency, keeping attention to the ratio cost-value is paramount. Keep up the excellent work. Thank you.
I just subscribed Because you have a kick ass channel and I like your kick ass attitude towards the average guy buying a watch in this episode well done
For me my favorite field watch is the lorus titanium. Lorus is owned by seiko and their 37mm field watch is only 6mm thick and the case is made from titanium. $78. For dress watch, it is Citizen NH8350 series watches. Better looking than the bambino with a much quieter automatic movement (8200 caliber inhouse). $99 Minimalist watch, most likely the Bering 13242-507. Sleek minimalist chronograph with blue sunburst dial and silver secondary dials and Sapphire glass. $100.
I recommend a Casio analogue watch which is stainless steel has a black dial and Roman numerals and that is the Casio MTP-1377D-1AVEF. It is 40mm with a depth of 10mm and comes on a stainless steel bracelet and has a water resistance of 100M. I purchased mine on Amazon UK for only £29.99 so it is well below the $100 and indeed well below $50. I love the watch, it's good quality and very wearable with almost anything. You can't go wrong with this watch. I also recommend the Casio 5610 G-Shock which if you shop around may be able to get one below $100. It is solar powered and has multiband 6 with 200M water resistance and is more wearable than the 5600 and has everything you need in a watch, I have two of them, the all black version and the standard one with the positive display, they are great rugged watches which you can expect from a G-Shock without it being too bulky on the wrist.
Great list. I have friends who will pay for a luxury watch in installments but they drive, like a Toyota. I'll never understand adding a debt to show off the money you don't have
I just purchased a Casio Royal watch with a stainless steel strap for £30 in England It’s not bad for the money I’ve not owed a Casio for twenty years. Hope you are well and self isolating safe from the coronavirus. Please keep the videos coming.
For the dress watch category here are a few great watches that are just beyond $100. Seiko SUP880 - it's a retagular watch that's a homage to the Cartier Tank (basically, if you're looking for a budget tank - this is the way to go.) Timex Marlin 34mm - this one is almost $200 but you can often find it on sale bringing it down to around $130 - $150. Great size, slides under the cuff easily and it's very unique looking.
Hey these are really good watches for the price! I’m a watch guy and I have some expensive items but I bought the Orient Bambino, and I’ve got to tell ya that I get compliments on that watch all the time. For 100 bucks it’s an incredible deal. Thanks for doing this list and stay safe during these hard times.
Hello Brock, just discovered your channel through this specific selection. Very well done, decent and honest explanations with empathy and sympathy. Thank you and regards from Belgium 🇧🇪
Great recommendations. The Orient Tristar line are probably the greatest sleeper automatic dress/sports watches on the planet. The Bulova "96" line are watches a man can wear in the most formal setting, and as a bonus you can grab it and go without the need to set it. Yay quartz!
Great video 👍 My face lit up when I saw the Casio World Timer which incidentally I happen to wear right now. Amazing watch, has a lot of features and has a *10 year Battery* which is just insane for its price.
Nice list. I own several of these. Two micro brands I would like to throw in the under $100 mix are Vaer (US) and AVI-8 (UK). Bertucci's "bargain bin," and Island Watch's Black Friday sales, are two great resources for this price point - titanium even.
Thanks Kevin for the tip I just bought a Bertucci watch from the bargain bin last night. Did not know they had that. $39 dollars no tax and free shipping. Great deal!
Hey man I really liked your video. I just bought two watches from your list: the casio f-84w and the Orient Capital V2. I should be getting them by the end of the week, hopefully.....really excited to try out these watches
I hate about 1/3 of the watches you review in this video, but you are 100% on your reviews. Listen to this, people. Buy what you like. This is such a good guide. OP, wear what you wear in good health (the non sarcastic way).
I recently bought the Casio A1000M-1BEF for 85 dollars. I've been waiting for Casio to do an affordable all steel digital watch for a long time, and I'm not disappointed. One crucial thing about the Casio A1000M-1BEF is that the face doesn't look like it does in the online pictures with studio lights. It makes the face appear to be multicoloured, but in most lights it is just black. I think it would sell much better if people realised that aforementioned fact.
Hello, I am from Greece and I bought a Timex Expedition T49905. The watch is excellent. I don't wait to be this watch so good.It became my favorite watch of all wathes which I have. I have it around 2 months. I am very careful with this, it has never fallen down on the floor, but the one indicator of chronograph seems to have been out of sync by 1 mm. Could you tell me what caused this damage? How can this problem be fixed?
Brock, hope you and yours are doing well... You can never go wrong with a Seiko, Timex or Casio... I'm really liking the vintage Seiko watches as well!!
Female viewer here but I love the offerings in this list. First watch I bought for myself was the Timex Weekender Chrono. I used it everyday for the last 6+ yrs for work (leather strap), off grid adventures but not in water (nato strap), and during a construction volunteer work in Nepal. Pretty lifeproof from my experience. My 2nd is the 5600BB and I recently got the F91w gold variant. Just need an automatic dressy watch to complete my watch needs. Gonna check the SNK809 or the Bambino. Thanks! P.S. Tiny wrist here at 5.5 ish
I would also personally recommend the AVI-8 Hawker Hurricane. 43mm x 10mm Flieger for those with a bit bigger wrist on a budget. The automatic variants do peak well above $100 USD, but the quartz flavours are just under $80 USD as of 5/2/20. On another note, I'm glad to see the Casio Duro make the cut! Phenomenal watch for the price point, and I like the Duro a tad better than my own Invicta Pro Diver 8928OB (with the key difference being my $60ish Pro Diver having a Seiko NH35A automatic movement).
On AliExpress there are many Chinese brand watches that feature Seiko or Miyota movements with Saphire glass at a great price. Just do a UA-cam search with the terms "aliexpress watches" for recommendations.
You may try or speak about the Seiko's other brand's like Pulsar or Lorus! Those are great options and well made, Seiko's movement from quartz to automatic! Have a look on those 2 brands! They try to have everything: dress, casual, Chronograph, sport, digital maybe some Diver's! In my humble opinion, Pulsar is a great choice in front of Timex! It's one historical brand! Back in the day they build the first digital watch! Yes, Back then it was a Hamilton brand, but now is under Seiko's umbrella now!
Hey, loved the video! Though I have a question. Seems I cannot find orient tri star like yours, with green dial and the link in the description goes to different tri star? Just wanted to clear some things.
Hey man i really love the seiko snk805 watch and at 100 is wayy out of my budget but still somehow would buy it. But i can't find this anywhere. Does anyone have one that i can buy ?
It hasn't changed since the last one, actually! I'd like to eventually pair it down to two watches: my Datejust and a new-ish 36mm Explorer, but I'll have to earn that purchase ;)
I have a 6 1/4" wrist and the G-Shock square wears just fine. Because it's rectangular it wears smaller than the maximum diameter suggests. The Vostok Amphibia may be a little left field for most but it's also incredible value!
I have had the Seiko SNE093 for about close to six years now and it's still working great. Just like any other solar watch within that price range, you have to keep it in some kind of light, if not it'll stop working after a while.
*Highly* recommend the SNK models, I've had two for about a year now (one dressy, one casual) and it's been great. Not only that, but I was curious about watch modding and these watches are the perfect ones for mods because there are so many models. Great video man, I hope you're staying safe!
All really excellent choices Brock, you can’t go wrong with any of them. I have several of the ones you mention including the Swatch once again which is a great watch. I regularly swim with it as it’s easy to read in the water and so light it does not affect swimming. It also shows the 30mm is indeed enough for swimming, heck, I’ve dived off diving boards and slid down water slide with it on and it’s never let in a drop! It’s also the watch Pope Francis wears daily.

I told my mom to get that for my 7 year old brother but he wanted a cheap plastic Walmart camo watch.
