I have never thought that a foreign channel will include HMT, even the Indians have already forgotten about the brand lol. Pilot, Saathi, Janata and Kahinoor are on my bucket list when it comes to HMT. It's hard to get brand new these days.
Ikr. Well guess what. On their official site, they have invited applications for setting up hmt stores over India. We might start to get hmt stores pretty soon and I hope that hmt as a brand catches up to the international market. I have 2 hmts and it just feels different to see "INDIA" written next to the six o clock marker. Yeah a seiko, tissot, rado, longines and what not, they are all quality timepieces. But none of them have "INDIA" printed on their dials. Wearing an hmt gives me a sense of pride. Love both of my hmts. Hopefully they have a better plan for the future. P. S. : They are shifting to a new site also from the 1st of Jan 2023. Thts another thing to be excited for. Super excited to see wht comes next.
I've got a Janata through an Indian friend. Lovely thin watch, wears a treat too thanks to the classical sizing. Unfortunately can only wear it sparingly because it has no water resistance whatsoever.
I have got an HMT Sona, vijay and Kohinoor and for about 1200rs each and after I started using them, can't go back to my casios. Hmts are so much thinner and liter and definitely more interesting. Definitely get a refurbished one if you want to experience ownership of manually winded mechanical watches.
Really didn't expect to see Pagani on this channel. I'm wearing a PD 1703 and it's probably my favorite watch. Gorgeous, and easily readable. The Seiko VK movement is perfect for this type of watch. Switched it with a buffalo strap that cost as much as the watch itself and I hardly take it off.
I'm wearing the PD 1751 (Ranger Homage I guess, looks quite different imho). I love it. If someone handed it to me, told me the specs, and I didn't already know the brand, I would guess $400 watch. What Pagani can ship to your door for under $100 is kind of mind blowing. Just gotta be ok with bad lume.
Instead of the Timex field watch, theres an offering from Lorus that's made of titanium, 100m water resistance, seiko lumibrite on the hands, 7mm thick. it's an absolute steal for around $70.
Glad to see you mention the Invicta Pro Diver in this video. It's hard to beat a 200 meter dive watch with an NH35 automatic movement for under a hundred dollars. I have several and most were around eighty dollars. Those Citizen watches were impressive for the price, and the Skagen looked cool, too. I'm not familiar with the brand, but I'll check it out. Thanks for another great video.
Casio Edifice EFB-108D-7AV is my pick for watch of the year under $100. Sapphire, 100m WR, PRX styling, awesome bracelet. Hard to beat unless mechanical is mandatory for you.
Never imagine I would see Pagani Design and San Martin mentioned on Watchfinder & Co. Channel one day LOL And to tell you the truth, headquarters of both companies are just 60-80 minutes drive away from my hometown (and I am pretty sure that San Martin used to have their headquarter located just about 10 minutes drive away from my home, but I never knew that until I started my watch collection earlier this year) 😂 For this round I gotta go with the Hand Man, much closer to the $100 price tag, and in particular I love the Vostok, Seiko 5, and Orient watches, all are very decent choices covering a variety of styles.
I recently bought a Pagani Design PD-1715 with a blue palm dial(in green it looks to much like a datejust than). But i have it for 35 days now and it is keeping perfect time(no adjustment for now) like a well regulated Seiko NH-35 A would. And the fit and finish is much better than expected.
I have a Seiko 5 and a San Martin, and my San Martin has a higher end Seiko movement than my Seiko, better components overall, and easily as good fit and finish, if not better. I've been thoroughly impressed by it, and I don't care if it looks like a Black Bay, as long as it's not a junk copy, which it isn't. 🤷♂️
I got that same Seiko snkl23 Changed a strap to black leather- it does the job just right:) It’s so cool, Casio-like coolness. I do t use it often, but it makes me appreciate the robust/cheap& solid seiko engineering:)
The Vostok Amphibia with a custom bezel is now my daily driver, replacing my more expensive watches. It has survived an intense rafting trip where it was knocked on several rocks, sub -20 C temperatures and several hikes. Incredible engineering.
The vostok amphibias are great watches, had one for a long time now and never had any problems with it, the same with the komandirskies. For $100 you can buy two of those 😁.
I really enjoy these type of videos where you and Tom have a "competition" to find the best watch. Your witty banter keeps me laughing and learning about new watches that might not have been on my radar. Keep up the great work!
The stories I’ve read were the French Navy divers started the use of parachute webbing as a watch strap in the 1960’s which were modified by the riggers. The British MoD standardized a webbing strap in 1973.
Am thinking of buying a orient watch or a Bulova watch or citizen.. don't now what to pick its between the citizen and Bulova watch... guess what I like the most at the end..
Mr. Hands won. Sorry Tom. The Best Line of the Week (and it's the first one on a Monday morning): "[S]o many good things are made in India. For the best-under-$250 roundup which is surely looming, give the Tissot Couturier a shot. Isn't even listed on the US website but at 39mm, sub-12mm thickness, and a Powermatic 80... it sets a high value bar indeed.
One vote for the human. Having seiko, citizen, orient, swatch, timex, casio and vostok is a win I don't think anyone can do a 10 watches list for under 100$ and skip any of those.
The Casio MDV 106 is a real gem. Mines on a Barton Bands black sailcloth strap and looks great, keeps good time, and looks much more expensive than it actually was.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.

Interesting to have Watchfinder give consideration to Chinese / AliExpress brands even though the mention was freighted with innuendo, hints, and allegations. These are not the only manufacturers that offer watches that look like more expensive or legendary watches... they're not even the only ones on this list. In this price range the Chinese brands are hard to beat.
