I just replaced my throttle body and my fuel pump on my 98 C230 and still won't run. I ran some test results and everything turned out ok. I think I'm going to try the fuel regulator next.
Is Fuel Pressure Regulator responsible for the cold start too? if it gives low pressure the engine starts in low temperatures with low RPM and turns off..Am I right?
Good question. I am not that much of an expert to be able to answer that completely. Maybe someone can jump in. Is your main problem a difficult to start engine first thing in the morning?
@@maxnomad1494 I couldn't find a good Fuel regulator in my area (all aftermarket with bad reputation), I replaced the intake temperature sensor, since then, I could start in very cold weather without a restart. this was years ago. I recall the intake temp. sensor was the same as the W140 (same part no.)
You shouldn't have to disconnect battery. But, should pull the fuel pump fuse to depressurize fuel system. Also, best done when engine is cold in case you spill gas when disconnecting.
My long-term fuel trim dropped to -9.6 after replacing the fuel pressure regulator. I was going to shoot a video on replacing my fuel sending units but I couldn't lift my car high enough to drain the tanks safely. Also, my wife would not allow me to stink up our garage LOL! So, I did pay $1000 for two new fuel sending units along with new wiring harnesses because the plugs were different. At the same time I changed a leaky fuel pump. After these repairs my long-term fuel trim improved to -7.2. I do feel the engine is running smoother and more power. I improved my fuel economy by nearly 2 MPG.
Great job, Tony.👍
My God that thing is immaculate, you should see the state of mine. Have to put up with a little 1.8l over here in Europe..

Thank you. Good explanations. Thank you.

@@fixittony In winter only,I have to restart the engine couple of times. In summer no problem ,just starts from first try.
@@mohamedamer8833I have the same problem! Did you ever find out what the problem was?

Where does the vacuum line for the fpr go to?
I wish I knew!
@@fixittony I figured it out there’s a really good diagram print on the hood of the car 🥴
In m111.960 it goes to intake next to thortle body.
Did you get a better reading from the scanner.. also what are those pliers called?
I purchased the pliers from www.mercedessource.com they make the pliers.

What is the value of presure of reglator in this engine
I am not aware of what the specification pressure is for the regulator. When I find out I will post here.
Cool Video
Is that thing caused u can smell gas from the exhaust?
Good question. I don't know if gas smell from exhaust could be from bad regulator. Other reasons for running rich should be looked at....
Is this the same as a fuel pressure sensor?
I don't think so.
where you bought plier online source?
