With all the sensors on a car I wonder why new cars don't have a fuel pressure sensor (and data pid) for fuel pressure. It's hard to measure that directly without a Schrader valve. Well done, Sue!
I wish I had this video last year. Had starting problems for 2yrs before my starter finally burned out. Finally decided to check the regulator, pulled the vacuum hose from it and it was just leaking fuel. A $80 piece after $400 worth of part replacement.
Mine old van does the exact opposite. It starts up easy but if I turn it off and back on without giving it time to rest it will take a few extra seconds to start. Got a new fuel pump installed right after I got it last year and it’s been making a loud ringing sound. I hear it go a few seconds after I turn the engine off and I hear it prime as soon as I move the key… before I even get to Start. I’ll check the regulator anyway since the shop that installed the fuel pump is refusing to warranty it.
I just bought a used 2008 nissan xterra, 2 wheel drive. Ive only had it a week, and immediatelly it sometimes difficult starting it makes sounds trying to start but takes 5 - 10 seconds sometimes to finally fully turn on and engine run. But usually if its been running and only recentlly turned off , if i start it soon after it seems to usually start right up. I may be misremembering, but it seems to have more difficulty starting fully if its been turned off for a few hours or overnight. Guy who sold it to me said nothing about it, but i dont trust him at this point, as no way it literally just started happening the day i bought it from him. I had battery tested and its good, only a year and a half old. And i noticed a slight fuel smell today inside the xterra while driving it. Unfortunately i was told by oreillys auto parts when i asked about getting a new fuel filter that this model xterra doesnt have just a simple fuel filter that is easy to access and remove and replace alone, as its instead supposely inside the friggin fuel tank and has to remove the friggin fuel tank and replace whole fuel assembly and buy and whole new fuel assembly to replace fuel filter. Which is nearly $400 for just the part! What batshoot craxy dumb design instead of jjust having fuel filter outside fuel tank easy to access and replace like some vehicles.. And this xterra has a built in alarm system connected to a chip in the key, apparently. When locking and leaving vehicle apparently after getting a certain distance from vehicle thealarm automatically arms. Suddenly today when i drove to auto store and turned engine off and removed key, immediatley as i opened door to exit the vehicle the alarm suddenly went on making alarm noises for a minute. Had no idea how to turn it off or why it suddenly started alarming as i was still in vehicle with the key in my hand. It at least stopped alarming sound after a minute. Just concerned as it shouldnt do that and have no idea why it did or if its going to again and how to stop it.
My car has the same longer cranking problem. When i start it in the morning it starts right away everytime but whenever it is after mid-day or when i try to start it after 30 minutes or so after the ride it takes longer cranking everytime and sometimes it starts okay I have replaced the spark plugs, crankshaft position sensor and coils. If anyone faves the similar problem please let me know how can I solve the issue ?
Hello 1A. My problem is the car will crank and won't start until I let it sit for a couple hours. I'll start it in the morning after driving, turn off the car and it won't restart from that point. So now I can't turn the car off because I'll be stuck wherever I do. 2001 Lexus gs300. Any ideas? Thank you. I check the fuel pump and it's really pushing fuel out.

thanks for explaining I have a Suburban 2012 it shut down in the road when I made OBD test it gave multiple codes one of them U0073 data bus comunication , P069E fuel pump module control - Mil activation requested , P2635 fuel pump low performance , P0108B fuel pressure sensor B and of course the delay start engine my question where is the fuel valve regulator in Suburban 2012 shuold I replace it , is the fuel pump is broken and need to be replaced or updating online Or I have to fix the bus comunication Bus before to solve the problem thanks in advance .
So my car was just fine before I got my valve cover gasket and fuel injectors replaced. Could this have been a domino affect? Or maybe it’s something else
My truck cranks for too long , but when i put the ignition on ON (not turning it all the way) after 5 seconds, something under the hood clicks only one time What can that be?

Same here crank problem but every time full tank of gas no crank problem but when gas reach half tank or less then crank problem show up again.
what if it doesn't crank at all for 10 seconds and then fires like normal? can't find anything online about this issue.
