Having a TLC is just about a pass to everywhere - it's durability will hold up more than just about anything. Fun watching your passes change - looked like OR SP then NW Forest Pass. Kudos for bringing your own wood. I have very mixed feelings about when people scrounge. It was one thing when almost nobody went out - now, with the Overlanding boom, it just seems poor form to use the woods - it's going to get consumed. I've already seen places where people cut down trees to use as firewood. BTW, you might appreciate a better shovel long term. Technically, OR FS requires: Shovel 8+" blade & 26+" handle & Fire Extinguisher 2.5# or 1g H2O. The Seymour Midwest Structon Round Point, 49632GR; 12g blade, 40" handle, teeth is a nice little shovel for ~$40
"We need to talk about..." & "just makes you a bad person". Nothing more frustrating and disappointing than trash at a campsite. Having a pick up tool is super handy - trasheroos type containers are great to keep that junk out of the car. Thanks for cleaning up!
Pretty great Coastal Range campsite! Approximately where were you on the coast? I was just up above Brookings and I found very few campsites, of those, half were completely penned in by that trash brush like the first one you showed. Of the others, over half were occupied by people who were clearly there long term, one even had 2 cats running around outside. I'd say your ocean overlook site was a jewel for the coastal range (especially as it wasn't at the cost of camping in one of those clear cut atrocities).
This is near Lincoln city. Definitely very few campsites along the coast, very hard to find anything that has a decent view and is a good camp spot. Gotta keep this one a secret :D
@@ScaleofTwo What little I could see of the Coast make me think it was probably between Pacific & Lincoln City. We've been going from Rockaway to Neskowin for decades.

I got a spot up in Washington. Up forest service road 72. Mt Rainier will be in full site when you wake up in the morning. And we can climb rock faces and shoot off fire works. I can yell from the top of the cliff and they can see me from the top of the cliff. Best outdoor camping spot period I've ever been. And then Mt Rainier is right there. Just bring the Land Cruiser, I'll take you there. Lol 😆

It is so frustrating. Surprisingly a lot of places we’ve gone to have been fairly clean, this is definitely the trashiest spot so far

Haha, probably pass on the fireworks (ya know, wildfires n such) but that sounds like a rad spot!!
Any other spots you recommend? I'm gonna be taking my little brothers dispersed camping this summer. Here in the PNW.
