Very nice, Mike. I made a bunch of these last year and they were very well received. I encourage your viewers to give these a try. By varying the shape of the hat and/or the bottom 'snowball', it's easy to give each one a unique personality. Some of mine had bowler hats, cowboy hats, extremely tall top hats, small pillbox hats (like Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis used to wear), etc. By having the bottom flair out from a narrow waste into a wide cone shape, you give the snowperson a skirt. The point is, there are lots of ways to make these. Have fun with them!
Just the right time for this video. I am turning some very large ones and the wife is decorating them. Will for sure get puff paint. I have a bunch of branches for arms cut and have rubber bands on then to give an elbow bend, soaking in water at the moment.
Appreciate the story board trick. I still have paper ones I've made for Christmas trees a few years back but transferring some actual wooden boards is a great idea.

I’ve been busy turning pepper mills and to take a break, I grabbed a 6” bowl blank Cut the mortis and finished turning it. I’ll send a pic when done. Thanks again for your instructions! Great video Mike. I really appreciate your tutorials! I’ve been turning these type snowman for a few years and I add arms out of forked twigs or bare fine twisted copper wire. I usually hollow mine from the bottom end and lighten them up as much as possible. I haven’t weighed any but they are definitely lighter that non hollowed. Thanks again and GOD BLESS.

I get paint stir sticks from my local hardware store and use those to make mine.

Can you post the puff paint you're using? There are so many I am getting confused which to try.
Sorry. Like I said, I bought my puff paint 15 years ago. Go any crafts store like hobby lobby or Michael's and ask a clerk to show you the puff paint.
