  • It time to prep for Christmas and one of the simple project is a snowman. They make great gifts and sell well. Simple to make. I used some sweet gums but Poplar works good as well. They take paint or you can just burn them as I did. We do a charity event at the Jacksonville Zoo lights each year and turn small project for donations. the Snow man is one of the popular pieces we get asked to turn. Fun too. I originally made this for my grandson who want to make some money. This will fit right in with his pens and bottle stoppers,

Do you have measurement of the base, body, hat you could share?

      The block I used is a 2”X 2” X 5.5”
You could get away with a shorter block if you did it between centers.
      Diameters
      The base is approximately 1.85”
      The belly is approximately 1.85”
      The head is approximately 1.50”
The hat brim is approximately 1.75”
and the hat itself is approximately 1.25”
My overall length is approximately 4.70”
There is really no magic to these number. If it look good use it. I always make some minor adjustment base off my eye. The base looks bigger but it is just the cove that makes it look that way. I probably should have added them to the video, but it was a quicky. Thank you for watching my video. I hope this helped you.
It just dawned on me you might have meant the lengths. These are all approximately
      Hat is 1.25”
      Brim is 0.20”
      Head is 1.10”
      Body is 1.60”
      Base is 0.50”
