Great! Was hoping for a snowman. Thank you. As a minor critique (if you will), can you smile? A bit of smile on your face during your intro and review would warm things up, eh?
Thx for these. I really enjoy the ornaments. Great job and well done on explaining everything. I appreciate the time you take in explaining your steps. Thx again
Thanks for making and sharing an informative video that’s also fun to watch. I’m a beginner at turning. This project looks perfect for practicing with my skew and make something useful as well. I’ve just subscribed as I want to see more of your work and learn from you. Thank you!
Have really enjoyed watching your Christmas ornament videos. Was also going to ask where to get the flexible sandpaper, but you explained in your answer to a previous question. Thank you!
@@DeansWoodworking Thank YOU for putting the videos out there. Oh, and i got my lathe set back up, after not being able to run it for almost a year. Those little snowmen look like a good starter project!
Thank you for making these videos! I'm just getting back into turning and love learning from your videos. Never used a skew very well until your videos. Your work is fantastic!
Man you sure have mastered the skew! Very nice, thanks for sharing the dimensions. I just happen to have a chunk of poplar waiting for a project, maybe I can make some of these. Thanks
Thanks for sharing this Holiday ornament series. As with all your videos, chock full of good information. I enjoy watching your technique. Thanks again.
Dean, I enjoy watching your videos so much. As a newbie, you truly 'teach' and go through all the steps plus this ornament series is AMAZING!!! I do need to find what type of sandpaper you are using because it looks so flexible. Keep up the great work and thank you for sharing with us!!
Thanks Dean. I think I can try an ornament also. I have turned larger snowmen to sit on a flat surface but this is a challenge and also will try the skew.
Another nice video Dean, thanks. Each time I see you sand, it looks like the paper is rubberized. I didn't think you could burn lines without cutting a groove. I have some formica squares, will try it without a groove. Stay safe.
Glad you enjoyed it Joseph, The product I am using for sanding does have a rubery backing, 3M made it but I think it is out of production. Thanks for Watching!!!
Thanks for the ornament series very helpful to learn from. Where do you get the flexible sand paper from I've only been able to find 220 and it was $10 a sheet
David I will have to measure that and get back to you I have been doing it on the same platform for years and I will have to check. Thanks for Watching!!!
Mr. Bill the truth is I do not know. my lathe does not have a digital readout. I can advise you that on something this small you can turn it as fast as you are comfortable with. just remember if it seems too fast slow it down. Thanks for Watching!!!
I have got to try this.
great job keep it coming good honest way to make some money during Christmas seasons thanks buddy...Andre fro. Australia
Nice job, Dean. Glad I had a chance to meet you at SWAT.
Thanks Mike, It was truly my pleasure meeting you!!
Do you ever hollow then? Are they light enough to go on a tree? Thanks for sharing!

You are very welcome, The Sandpaper is a 3M product that has been discontinued. Thanks for Watching!!!
Where did you get such a small tailstock live center
Mike that is just a standard Oneway brand live center. Thanks for Watching!!
Thanks Dean. I think I can try an ornament also. I have turned larger snowmen to sit on a flat surface but this is a challenge and also will try the skew.
Go for it John, Thanks for Watching!!!

Thanks, Yes I am I use Spray Laquer. Thanks for Watching!!!
Hi Dean, very good detailed video. Can I ask - what is the angle degree you sharpen your skew?
Not sure, I will have to go check I use several and they are all a little different. Thanks for Watching!!!
Thanks for the ornament series very helpful to learn from. Where do you get the flexible sand paper from I've only been able to find 220 and it was $10 a sheet

Good Video. What is Puff paint?
its a craft paint that puffs up any craft store will have it. Thanks for Watching!!!
Dean what angle do you grind your skews at? I just made a skew out of 1/4 inch hss stock...works great for those tight spaces...love the videos
David I will have to measure that and get back to you I have been doing it on the same platform for years and I will have to check. Thanks for Watching!!!
Dean where do you get your sandpaper please it looks more like cloth?
Its a 3M product that they no longer Produce. It has a rubery backing. Thanks for Watching!!!

Rats, looked like a good quality sandpaper. I have been using abranet and looking for other options.
Hi Dean ~ How many RPM's are you turning this at?
