- This weekend I found some time to try the new blender hair nodes, and it's awesome. There are some tips in this video that I'm sure will help a lot of people trying to do more complex stuff.

Here are the files so you can break it by your self, the setup is a bit buggy because of the way the character is set up, I didn't have time to mess to much with it.

Hi, I've been trying to find out how you get the hair curves to follow a rig along with the mesh like you've done here. I've looked through both the files you provided (thank you!) and I can't seem to figure it out. My hair groom just stays static when I move the rig. Is there something obvious I'm missing? Thanks in advance!
it's the surface deform geo node on the end of the stack (either modifier or node on the graph), but there is a weird interaction between it and a mesh with shapekey (like the dog) that I didn't get it very well.
Take a look at the hair gen (hair interpolate node, see if the surface rest position is checked ) in your model, and them add a surface deform.

Just a reminder, I had trouble grooming him because he has some correct shapekeys, If you are grooming a character from scratch always do it IN THE REST POSE, no shapekeys applied nothing. You can deform it later and will have a way smoother experience :)
