Suggestion for a new challenge run. I've only seen people restrict themselves to no guaranteed gear. How about a run with only guaranteed gear. You would have to get plenty caps.
Appreciate the suggestion! It wouldn’t be as challenging as you might think. It’s possible to get Overseer’s Guardian within half an hour after leaving the vault. And once you have that, it’s not much longer until you can afford some nice armor in Diamond City and Bunker Hill.
I know I'm late to the party but just wanted to say thank you for this playtrough. I'm commenting here on the last episode, without watching it because it is the most recent one :) I'm currently somewhere at episode 7 and enjoying every minute of it. The reason why I'm watching is because recently my carpal tunnel started acting up, and I can't spend a lot of hours with the hand on a mouse :( so I decided to move to a console, I can't care less for mods, even on PC, so that is no issue for me, however, for the love of Atom, how do people efficiently aim using a controller.... Damn it is tricky.... so I decided to rely on VATS, something I rarely did on PC, and that is how I discovered your channel :) I guess my question, if someone still sees this, why using pistols in the early game instead of snipers? The only thing i can think of is the number of shots you get, reducing snipers to just 2 or 3 early on, while pistols get 7-8 (deliverer much more) shots. But the damage multiplier is so heavily in favor of snipers. By the level 26 when you can have Sniper 3 and Concentrated Fire 2, your headshots will start at around 70% from a fairly larger distance than with pistols, and you'll be killing legendary enemies in one sneak shot most of the time. I guess it comes down to the personal preference. I started the similar playtrough with the snipers. It's much harder to start because of the limited number of shots, but I believe it will pay off once i hit level 26 :) I also made a mistake starting with just 6 Agility. You can't imagine how difficult it was to handle all the mirelurks and norwegian raiders to get the bobblehead on level 10 :)
Maybe it’s lack of experience with VATS. I also really like pistols in general. I thought the lower AP cost would make them a good option, since one of my biggest concerns was rubbing out of AP during a fight (a big reason why Action Boy moved up in priority after doing a short test run of VATS only)
A fun and likely shorter series might be that Legendary Roulette. I know MATN did it as a goof but it was so wacky he just pushed through real quick and made a full series out of it. I don't think he did DLC's though, I'd imagine an all legendary NukaWorld would be insane.
That’s something I’m certainly thinking about doing in the future. Except if I do an all legendary enemies run, it will be survival permadeath. I think the craziest part of Nuka World would be the Galactic Zone because of legendary robots exploding everywhere. But I think the bottling plant and safari adventure would be unchanged since I don’t believe Nukalurks and Gatorclaws can spawn as legendary.
@@SuperTwonky Permadeath would be insane in that mode. I'm not well versed on what weapons spawn at what levels, but I'd imagine the stray nuke launchers and other really high powered weapons spawning on generic enemies would mean death is inevitable. Then again I didn't think YOLO was doable in F4 and you an Jon both proved that to be very possible with your skills and knowledge. Either way look forward to future series. You all dissect these games in a way that few people can.
Great series, I would like to see a your new Survival walkthrough with a mod "War Of The Commonwealth". I think it would greatly refresh the concept, taking survival to a new level =)
The most powerful is the No-sneak, no power armor Commando permadeath run I did. By the mid-game, that character felt like they literally could not die. I beat the Mechanist fight by standing still in the center of the arena, and her robots never came close to killing me. Unfortunately that run isn’t the best to watch, because it’s before I was editing my videos, and it has so issues with the commentary audio.
Was just rewatching this series and wondering if you had any others in the pipeline? Or are you waiting for Starfield at this point? (If you even planned on doing videos on that, that is)
My suggestion is another vats only run but this time under either a yolo or no hit restriction and doing all quests and collectibles personally you should do yolo first to warm up for a no hit vats only run. It's a lot more interesting when all you have to work with is vats. You also need to ban guaranteed legendaries so that means no rightous authority. So no chems throwables or healing. I've 90 percent completed it in a practice theorycraft run so I know it's possible just tricky not too hard honestly. For the luck bobblehead you have to either build around endurance for aqua boy or you could do a 1 endurance build and use a trick with vertibird markers to get to Spectacle Island when the brotherhood show up. The reason being the luck bobblehead is impossible to collect otherwise under this restriction at least it was thought to be until someone reverse engineered the vertibird flight patterns.
There is one more line of epilogue quests for The Railroad, which are semi-radiant but themed. The quest line is called To The Mattresses and after leaving and returning to Railroad HQ (possibly after having completed at least one of Pam's or Carrington's quests), Desdemona will tell you about a number of organized gangs that are hunting refugee synths. You are tasked with taking out the leaders of those gangs in a lather, rinse, repeat about 6 times and then that quest line is over. Not super interesting and definitely not worth adding a second epilogue video for, but you might want to try them out some day. In fact, here is a suggestion for your next Fallout 4 run: pick a faction and then complete the main quest as quickly as possible, then go forth and do side quests and DLC. The Commonwealth changes a lot post main quest (less so if you side with The Institute) and it would be cool to see those changes over the course of the majority of a play through. Anyway, congrats on the platinum achievement! I am saddened that we didn't get one last Art v. Art in the farewell. Also I was way under with my guess of 12 appearances, unless you cut some out somewhere along the line. I think I only counted 8 or 9 total. fun fact; gold is about twice as valuable as platinum. maybe diamond should be the higher tier from gold, rather than platinum.
Yeah, I’m just going off of what I typically see for ranking systems. For whatever reason, platinum tends to be the top tier.
