- Our next step is to build a teleporter and gain access to the Institute. Once there, we'll need to play nice to infiltrate them for the Railroad.
Rules:
1. VATS combat only. No manually aimed shots at enemies
2. Endurance must stay at a natural 1
3. No Companions*
4. No Power Armor
5. No Addictive Chems
6. Survival Permadeath-Lite
• No save scumming
• 0 deaths = platinum run
• 1-3 deaths = gold run
• 4-6 deaths = silver run
• 7-10 death = bronze run
*MacCready will be allowed to get his perk. plus he has a cool questline.

Lots of good stuff in this episode. Mysterious Stranger appearance, Art v. Art (Round 8 if memory serves) and some cool dialogue I too had never experienced.
As for Libertalia, I do believe that Neil below is correct and that you can clear the whole place without X6 if you just don't talk to him first.
the "aggressive" responses with synth Shaun are pretty hilarious. i'm thinking i'll need to do a run sometime that involves a lot of booze and nothing but surly responses -- they're the only dialogue i haven't heard much, and i think they're worth a listen.
I was going to skip that part too, but the responses to synth Shaun caught me off guard with how funny they were. Even before choosing the aggressive option, the “Hi there” struck me as way too casual for the situation.
Fun fact: You can build the transmitter at any settlement you control, even the airport. And the airport is just a short swim from the Old North Church.
Just don't talk to X6-88 and clear the Libertalia without him. He will teleport to you inside at the point where he gives you the code.
Even if you are building it with the Railroad? Will Tom as Des just show up at whatever random settlement you build it at?

Yeah, someone on the development team really liked melee and made it the most powerful play style in the game by a mile. Frankly I'm shocked that it made it through playtesting without being brought at least a bit closer in balance to other weapon types. Then again, they also let unarmed go through with almost no weapons, perk support or proper game balance either...
In terms of raw numbers, yeah, melee gets pretty crazy with blitz and sneak attack multipliers (plus inquisitor of atom). But functionally, 35,000 damage is basically the same as 4,000, since either is more than enough to one-shot just about anything.
Since you seem to miss the Ada attack site loot, Zoe has a set of the goggles you go to the Vault in Far Habour for.
I checked Zoe just in case, but I had already grabbed the road goggles from her. They are probably in a workbench somewhere.
You can do this mission without X86. Just avoid him at the bridge. He will teleport to the roof at the end to say his lines.
The red health bar always makes me anxious. I know why it's like that, but still.

Yeah, it is pretty useless. But it is kinda fun when he does happen to show up.
