I've not painted a wargaming scale mini for about a decade now due to life being a strange ol' beast. Of all of the tutorials I've seen on UA-cam yours have easily been my favoruite and, honestly, GW owe you a comission because I've dropped the best part of £100 on paints to follow a couple of your tutorials. Time to (dust off and) work my way throught that pile of shame. Muchas Gracias!
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Be tenacious! It's the only way! Quick query about your rosemary&co brushes, any you'd recommend for starting out again? Cheers!
Get the Series 33 size 2, 3 and 4 You won't need anything else for miniatures. I use the three as my main brush, it's just perfect. For vehicles you might want something bigger for basecoating but you will never need anything smaller, get used to using large brushes for everything and you will develop brush control with ease
Wow. This is stunning. Your brush control is superb. Love the clever use of contrast and standard paints. I’ve just purchased this set so really enjoyed this video. Thanks.
Juan, I actually love the story line for the Tanith First and Only. That is one of the first Black Library novels that I got into. I had to read all of the story line for that regiment. Thank you for sharing your interpratation of these troops. Thank you so very much for the motivation and inspiration for my painting in the future. I think that you are absolutely amazing. I dream of learning to use your style of painting. Please stay safe and keep painting! We need your type of inspiration.

Dayum dude, that face skin...that cloak. Fine, fine work! Plus, I have to say it again, after a crazy long hours workweek there's something just so soothing about these.
Very pretty : ) Btw, I think your background music is a great choice. It’s subtle enough to not be distracting while still filling in some silence. By nw it has brand recognition for me too, haha. It just sounds like your channel.
I have all range of citadel contrast and I lear a lot with you. Thanks for the content. Btw, I bought some rosemary brushes using your link as gratittude. I bought the long handle lol... Really long indeed.
White reflections on eyeballs at 28mm scale? Insane. This is really stunning work, especially that face. (Also, love the colour mix for the wood; gotta try that out on some Kruleboy spears)
La cara te ha salido genial. Hasta ahora solo he probado un poco las contrast, nunca he pintando una miniatura íntegramente con ellas. Ya que tengo esta mini, creo que me animaré a seguir tu tutorial. Gracias!!

Again an absolute banger with all the tips included. Do you have any recommendations which colors to get when first starting? The variety is so immense that I don’t really know which will be the ones which are a true must have for beginners to start with.
Wow, that's a very difficult question to answer and depends on what you want to paint. My advice is, think of what you want to paint and get THOSE colours, try it out, practice and expand from that. Soon you will know what colours have priority over others. A good advice is to avoid darker or lighter shades of the same colour, get the midtone and mix the highlights and shadows yourself. Get some universal highlight colours for that like Vallejo Sunny Skintone, Ice Yellow, Pale Sand or Ivory, those colours work great for highlighting ANYTHING.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures thank you very much for that quick response! I definitely will get that. Is there any starter set like the one of Valejo with which you have started back then?
No, I never got any starter set, I just picked the colours I needed when I needed them but if you are going to settle with one starter set, the Kimera Basic Single Pigment set is BY FAR the best one to get.
I've been trying to do the first step with the Basilicum Grey and then Black Templar over Greyseer for the black clothing, although I find that it goes really shiny for me, rather than the more matte finish here. It's an old metal model (Catachan, fits Tanith), I wonder if that's got anything to do with the result, it perplexes me given it's the same colours used. Or maybe just needs another coat.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Your efforts to reply to so many people is an absolute wonder, Juan. I'll ensure to give them more than a customary shake-shake before opening then. Many thanks!

If nothing is said clearly there is no dilution whatsoever. As for taking the paint out of the pot, no, I have my paints in droppers so that's physically not possible and it's also not good for your brushes, I put my paint in a palette first always.
