If you feel conflicted, just get both. I just bought a cruiserboard just for specifically cruising. My longboard is great and durable. Now I wanna learn dancing maneuvers on it. So if I'm just wanting to cruise, I'll have a board just for the cruising. Longboard for both cruising and dancing at the same time.
I started commuting daily with a longboard AND cruiser (Drop Cat 38 and Poke) and the cruiser is my go-to. Agility = safety so navigating cracks, curbs, cars and people is much easier on the Poke
I just want o say that I love ❤️ your channel, I got into longboarding/cruising thanks to you. First I bought a pretty decent cruiser board from a local longboard shop, which I liked, but after some time I felt like it was time for and update. So I gave the cruiser to my lil bro who also started longboarding and bought the drop cat 33 from Landyachtz. I have it for like almost a year and a half, and it’s pretty much perfect 👌. Option 3: get a short longboard. DB, Landyachtz, and Loaded, for example, make 33" longboards that aren't much longer than a cruiser or old-school, 80's-style skateboard, but they boast the cutouts and big wheels of a longboard and more portability and agility than a big 41" or 44" longboard or pintail. I have one of these little guys with massive 90mm wheels, and it's a lot of fun.
I have a old cruiser bird from about 5 years ago and wanted to reuse it as transportation, I was really interested on cruising, only making a Ollie, and pumping, this is perfect
'Sup man. Just got a 26 inch cruiser with a 40 inch longboard. I agree with the fact that lugging the longboard around kinda sucks, but I do feel it's ride is slightly smoother. Both are way easier than the regular skateboard, and you can even pop an ollie or shuvit on a cruiser, so I don't see myself going back to riding a popsicle. Great vids by the way. Peace dude.
