The reason why i speak fast is because no one ever pays me any attention and when someone does i want to get my point across quickly before they stop hearing me
I didn't get in to my last med school application because my interview went horrible. I spoke too fast and they didn't get to understand what I was trying to say then. Hopefully, I am gonna make it this year. Will be using this technique.
1) typewriter technique 2) take deeper breaths. focus take breaths between each 6-7 word 3) elongate your vowels and for more clarity and emphasis Bonus: focus on the message
My Aunty who has a relaxed mind. Always tells me to slow down all the time because my mind is rabbit speed. She said to me that I am running. (With my mouth) and it upset me. But now I want to learn to speak 30 words per minute not 90
Thank you dear. It fixed my childhood problem of speaking very fast and to swallow some words in between in order to talk in hurry. The technique of speaking like you are typing is awesome. Thanks a lot once again. 😊
Im a introvert but now tasked with public speaking. When i speak im like speedy Gonzalez, my mentor said my messages are good but i need to slow down so people can get what im saying clearer.
Hello lady Tina I had been doing this about a month and thanks to you I feel more confident when I talk to others or even talk in the mirror I also have a movie audition that I think I’m gonna nail‼️ because talking fast was my only issue
When ever I get nervous or excited it would come out as Gibberish. Ppl where always what I can’t understand you. making me self conscious. Trying to work on it Ty love the videos.
My first week as a police officer just ended, and my FTO said I really need to work on articulation over the radio. I’ve struggled with speaking very quickly my entire life, hopefully these tips can help me slow it down and annunciate.
Maam your video is bestest video of speaking clearly..and most important is last part of speaking like that you are typing something..Maam you have made big step in my life
I also noticed that on every platform I increase the playback speed of podcasts or videos to 1.25 or 1.5. It’s so hard to listen to slow speakers as a quick speaker.
English is my second language and Spanish is a fast language so I would kinda use the same pace in English which would make me sound like a rapper 😂 so i had to learn to slow down in this language, i still work on it tho
Amazing self awareness you have! All in context, sometimes speaking slower is good and sometimes speaking faster is good, all about that sweet spot of blissful rhythm!
Your videos are AMAZING! They are the answer to all of my very specific speech problems and i thank you a lot for that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge
I talk too fast and a lot! It has served me well as far as job interviews go and it's perceived as confidence however in reality that's not the case at all, I'm full of uncomfortable nerve wracking adrenaline.... I'm a very nervous anxious person, and when I talk I speak too fast and I get breathless, I also get very lost and forget what I'm saying often repeating the same crap. I suffer with depression and anxiety badly now as a 40 year old and I feel persistently anxious and it's awful. I choose not to have conversations wherever possible using texting and email as preferred alternative options but when I do have to speak with any health professionals for example particularly mental health even they perceive my excessive talking as confidence and they point that out, saying well you're talking a lot now and that I have a lot to say 😂 but also I have that much going through my head and I think subconsciously I feel like I have to get it all out before I forget and usually I do forget hence being repetitive with what I say. Help? 😂 Please lol Also listening is difficult for me, I'm thinking a lot so often don't hear a word of what's said likewise Reading... I can hear or read something for a minute yet haven't absorbed any of it. It's so hard and has made me more nervous 😢

@@just_katrina1065 In my experience, you just have to practice and practice. Practice what the video has taught even if it seems unhelpful. Just try because you never know until you have really, consistently try it. Nothing comes easily at the first attempts. Then try taking up class. I joined a club on public speaking. I gave speech every week to a group of people (even though online) even though I hated it. But I am getting used to it. It is also satisfying. I am aware that everyone is different. Your gene and environment shaped you and it is hard to change. But do not give up. There is always a reason to love yourself. Just because you are not good in communication does not mean you are bad as a person. This just means that you are good in something else. If you are comfortable online, then utilise it. I was also depressed and hated myself. But once I learned that I am not alone, many worse than I am, I feel grateful. This youtube comment section community including you is an example. Just know that you are not alone. And practice, practice, practice.
Allright she made me laugh... most people asked me if I am arguing when talking (loud/fast talker)...well my excuse is I am Dominican 🇩🇴I guess It speaks for itself...
I have to make a video of 1 minute introducing myself for a college application. I don't have much material, so I'm just trying to speak slower than I do lol
I'm deathly terrified of whoever I am speaking with, they will call me out for changing the speed of my speech. Because of being nervous, and having anxiety and ADHD. Especially around people I know, what do you say to people and friends you know that will comment or call you out for "changing your speech" "you sound weird" Thanks great video!🤩
I resonate with this so much and this is what I’m most afraid of. Also I’m afraid that my words hold too much weight and power, so to avoid being looked at so much, I speak really quickly out of fear.
The point why ppl do that is that instead of losing to what the other party is saying, we are just running to give our opinions and after boom 😅run fast in talks as results no one is understanding ur opinion
I was always a fast talker, but i had brain trauma. I still wanna talk fast, but after the brain injury my mouth doesn't have the same strength. My whole side of my face is lopsided enough it effects my speech. Not very noticeable, but still having difficulty. People say i have a speech impediment, but I really don't
Would these tips help if you struggle with often mumbling if you speak fast. I have an issue with properly articulating my “Ts” and “Ds” and I am naturally a fast speaker. I would stumble on these specific sounds. Is it possible to overcome that?
I encourage you to apply this video plus download my tongue twister list, it's divided into sounds to improve on. Do the tongue twisters 10x, 3 times a day everyday to retrain yourself and see if you have improvements. mailchi.mp/50d418860bfb/bg09wfjd9b
I'm still nervous whenever I talk sometimes when someone says something that I need to know or to realize anything related to that topic then I just start talking very fast whenever I just want to say something or just let my thoughts wonder how can you help me from not talking to fast and to quickly whenever I want to say something to other people
I had a similar thing where I would need to know context in order to understand (especially when I used to do performing improv) and for me, I had to just be comfortable being honest with not knowing. If I can, I stop the conversation and ask for the person to explain for me the context or I state that it's way over my head, or if it's a very small thing, I just let it slide. That's what worked for me anyway, but might be different for you.
My challenge of typewriting is that I can't type and talk and think at the same time. I feel like I process everything much more slowly when I type and talk simultaneously. Does anyone share the same struggle?
I'm a pharmacist with society anxiety.. do u know how that sounds? Horrible!! I have to talk face to face with all types of ppl .. whenever i talk very quickly I just know I'm so nervous .. I'll follow those steps hope they'll help

YESSS! So glad you implemented that and it helped!👏👏👏
Thanks for the comment letting me know, it's why I love making videos like this.💃
Is it true because u speak fast u turn to put pressure on the brain which causes stammering and mumbling?
@@michaelotabil3104 Stammering makes u feel nervous to rush out words
I cry when I read out loud 'cause I immerse too much
Do you actively read in a slower manner to teach yourself to speak slower? Or just read out loud normal? Thank you
