    I have trauma way back elementary days. My classmates bullied me since I'm unable to pronounce words with letter //R// correctly. I don't have enough confident to speak infront of them or to anyone. I'm 18 already and suffering from stuttering since I was 7. I'm afraid to speak infront of the class nor discuss a report. I'm anxious about my future since communicating is a must in any fields. Guide me, Lord, my Saviour and my strength. Godbless everyone!

    ive been sufferring my whole life. everytime i speak i get stumbled upon my words. i'll try out these exercises. wish me luck^^
    (EDIT)
    i do this every night before i go to bed and surprisingly i find a major difference! Before i found this video, i mess my words up literally EVERY TIME i talk even if its only a three word sentence. I cant even sing a song right even though i remember the lyrics like i remember my name. But after doing this exercise almost every night for a month, i don't stumble upon my words as frequent as before! Sometimes, i even find myself speaking without focusing on how im going to pronounce the words in my mind! And people dont feel uncomfortable communicating with me anymore! I really recommend these exercises if you're going through the same suffer as me. Here are some tips:
    - plan a time in a day to do this exercise and remember to keep on doing it until it becomes a routine. i suggest you do it before sleeping.
    - also do it whenever you're free and not communicating with other people.
    - make sure your tongue feels tired like your arm muscles when you do push ups.
    - dont procrastinate! always be consistent about this. otherwise you wont get your aim.
    - drink some water after doing the exersices so your tongue feels relaxed
    - you could also have trouble speaking when you lack of confidence. be sure to stay calm when talking with someone (yes i suffer the same, fellow introverts :') its okay to keep it slow and steady as long as you still make a little difference)
    Have it a go. Good luck guys!! sorry for my bad english and thank you so much Lady Tina for providing these exercises and helping us face our problem

    thank you so much for the video, it is absolutely life changing, ever since childhood I've always had trouble not with articulation but with being heard, all the exercises are great, and i'd advise to do them all, but as every person's problem is different, certain exercises are more helpful to one's needs than others. and the last one that is about the vowels made an enormous difference in my case, not only in english, but equally in other languages as well, as my problem i think was that i did not engage my tongue enough to articulate the vowels clearly. i would've never been able to solve this issue had i not found your videos, and it truly helps not only with english, but as it helped with french as well, i think these exercises with all languages.

    Thanks, this is great! Therapy like this is also helpful for stutterers. Do you have videos on that? And one more thing: should I be careful to swallow my own tongue if I curl back 2 much? :O

      I don't have any videos specifically addressing stutters. These exercises are generally safe to do done properly so I wouldn't worry.👌

    I got stammer at 5 years of age and still have it. I am 24 now.
    But, these excercise really helps. I used to practice 2 tips earlier and I started practicing your tips.
    Good results.
    Now, I can speak loudly also whereas earlier I was unable.
    Love your energy. You are my friend.

    Hello! I'm curious if you have a speech-language pathology background, consulted with an SLP, or have done evidence-based research in the area of articulation and speech clarity? I ask because I'm an SLP and it's quite a hot topic on whether tongue exercises are beneficial to clear speech and articulation.

    Hey I have a question. I have a cavity in my left molar since like 4-5 years, (IK i should get it treated but it never spread to other teeth so I got used to it)
    For these 4-5 years I have used mostly my right side of the mouth to chew food. Could it be that I don't have clear speach because I use only one side of my jaw to chew food?
    Edit - few mins into the video and I got the answer. Thanks you very much ♥

    Excellent & very helpful video.
    I am learning French, and sometimes while reading out loud I struggl with my jaw muscles, but your tips helped. However I have trouble doing the 3rd exercise, with "th" one, I am little confused with throwing the air out.
    But anyway, thanks !

    • @TinaLeder
      @TinaLeder  3 роки тому +1

      Jaw muscles are a major cause of speech disruption. I talk about it a little here (ua-cam.com/video/P0-gSkrV3XE/v-deo.html), but hopefully you're also doing pressure point massaging.
      In case my explanation was confusing in the video, the "th" exercise is to hold the sound, and thus you'd be "throwing the air out" in the exercise.
      Hopefully that helps!

    Hi Lady Tina! This is my second day now. Thank you so much for sharing my comment on your social. :) I have one question about the scraping tongue to the back part, i just can't seem to scrape it back, my tongue goes up instead of back and flat as yours. Any tips?

    • @TinaLeder
      @TinaLeder  3 роки тому +2

      That's fine, the point isn't necessarily to successfully scrape, but rather attempt to do so and therefore exercise the correct muscles. Kind of like doing any other exercise, do the motion and the strength and flexibility still come over time.👌

      1: touch your tongue tip on ur front teeth(lower side)
      2: when you want it to go up it's like you are pushing it out(taking your tongue out) but not removing your tongue tip from back of the teeth.
      Also open your mouth slightly when trying to take it out and close it slightly when taking it back
      Watch video instructions again and try in front of mirror
      Let me know if it helped u
