    This is on how to improve your verbal fluency so your conversations can flow better, although I suggest that we don't stop there. Like I mentioned in the video, body language, tonality, and the words we use play a big part in communication.

    My avg was 22, however, I found this video AMAZING for 3 reasons: 1. The idea of getting to a higher number say 40-50 (Current Goal, not farfetched) I'm sure would be a game-changer in my life and anyone else's because the idea of me being able to communicate effectively would be mind-blowing at that rate I'm sure 2. Having a baseline of where I am today versus where I would like to be tomorrow is super important, plus this idea of doing this daily (or whenever you find time) can be super fun and exciting. I also believe in the philosophy of progression not perfection 3. The potential level of confidence that can be obtained by simple doing this exercise as much as you can is limitless. It's up to you...your in the drivers seat. Great video!

My verbal fluency is awful. I've had diabetes since I was 15 and I'm 49. I'm wondering if my unusual blood sugar has caused brain fog over the years. I appreciate your videos. One thing I've done (for far too long now) is use a thc vape, and I have noticed severe brain fog and a lowered overall verbal fluency, among other side effects. Always felt that form of escape HELPED me with my ailments and social anxiety (esp after covid), but now I see how wrong I was and am trying my best to ditch the habit with the hopes that this journey will come a bit easier for me. Thanks for sharing your truth- it helps others, like myself.

    I was that kid that read the chapter before the class got to it, so I was prepped for how to pronounce everything by the time it was my time to read. Even so, when Im speaking on my own accord, Im probably the cringiest person around. I could name off a lot of things I lack;
    slow timing and terribly long pauses, constant use of filler words, bad posture, bad body language, lack of facial expression, lack of inflections leading to a monotone feel, little warmth or emotion, disjointed speech, non-interesting/unattractive vocal tone, lack of humor, repeating self for emphasis way too much, SEVERE lack of confidence in myself and my presentation, lack of planning, constant loss of words/forgetfulness, going around and around in a topic without a good reason to, lack of context/explanation [i think so, anyway?], voice volume is TERRIBLE and inconsistent, lack of self-trust to go into an unconscious stream of consciousness, lack of charm and demanding attitude that people listen to me, lack of detail, boring story, generally CRINGEY presentation. I have a lackluster of character in my speech abilities.
    Im like the posterchild for speech illiteracy. oof. I just generally lack any presence at all when speech comes into play for me [if Im lucky].
    I think my best bet is to convince myself Im not ridiculously annoying as people made me feel so often in the past but I dont know how to even start with that journey.
    Im starting to understand why people have a tendency to dislike and oftentimes avoid me.
    I dont believe Im dumb, and my reading comprehension, intuitive abilities, and creativity are quite good, but articulation is a definite struggle for me.

    • @TinaLeder
      @TinaLeder  4 роки тому +4

      I can relate in so many ways. Especially the ridicule of others and lack of confidence to present myself especially verbally.
      If it wasn't for someone believing in me / being kind in this particular area and me believing I can improve, I wouldn't be where I am. I'll tell you this much, it's rarely ever as bad as you think, especially if your conscious (which it seems like you are), then it's just a skill gap that can be learned and therefore achievable.

    I would add to this - memorizing lines or lyrics and recalling them

    Lady Tina,
    This is a precious advice to delivered to us , I swear. I was questioning myself numerous time why I have struggling with my verbal fluency. I just got u accidentally, I wish if I saw you a year ago, what so ever am so grateful to get you!
    My year long question at least got answers.
    As per language expert telling, if some one knows 10000 words , able to communicate flow less with out stuck there to find the word, I believe I know more than that ,but why am struggling, here you go u some my problem.
    By the way my score is too bad ,but I will follow ur tip , to get where I want.
    God bless you ! I can’t tell it enough

    I have a problem with my accent. Because english is my 3rd language, the accent of my native language is quite hard and heavy. The tone of my voice while speaking were like you're dropping big rock on the ground. How can i fix this?

      Practice with a model like a celebrity whom you like their accent. Channel that celebrity and your muscle memory should work to help you do the accent when you speak.
