Have the MR and a DR. Excellent guns. Ended up selling my Glocks

I agree with you. By now, after all these years, Glock SHOULD have evolved a much better equipped pistol at the same kind of price as Shadow Systems. I like Glock, used them for duty and off duty as well as some competition. IMO the stock Glocks are just not worth the money compared to pistols like the shadow systems. What are the 2 main complaints about Glocks, the sights and trigger. By now they should have listened to their customers and remedied those concerns at a minimum.
I don’t buy Glock anymore and sold off all but 3 of them.
You know I m a long time G19 owner and really like Glocks. That being said , when i tried the MR920 elite I sold my G19 lol. I absolutely love the 43x mos and carry it or my MR920 Elite. Glocks were ahead of the curve for a long time , but now other companies have caught up and some even surpassing them. I love Glocks ( G19 was my first pistol ) and hope they step up in a big way. The MR920 Elite is a great pistol and the grip is AWESOME. I put a 1 moa RMR on it and it is such a great shooting pistol.
How does your 43x compare in size to the mr920?
@@jdev232 That is a great question. You know the 43x mos and mr920 elite are my favorite 2 pistols. The 43x is a little shorter but the real difference is in the width. I find the 43x mos the perfect balance between compact and micro sized pistol. The 43x mos is small enough to comfortably conceal carry but the s15 mags gives you plenty of firepower. I just put a Overwatch Falx trigger on my 43x and WOW it is so awesome. I went off tangent a little lol but i hope i answered you question. Now if you are thinking about getting a 43x mos or a mr920 elite and could only choose one......I would prob choose the 43x MOS ( if you put a red dot, trigger and night sights on it. It is just perfect sized and the s15 mags gives you 15 rounds. It would have to be the 43x MOS model though. The regular 43x isn t for me.
@@jaason101 lol. I have a43x mos with apex trigger and holosun 407k. I don't want to swap out mag release and use the s15 mags because of possible reliability issues. Was considering an mr920 for another option. I also carry a staccato c, but same capacity as 43x. Is width on 920 close to 43x? I've read specs but never been able to see side by side
@@jdev232 no the 43x mos is much thinner than the mr920. I have heard of some issues with the gen 2 S15 mags. I have 7 of the gen 1 mags and have been super happy. I have prob 3 or 4k thu mine with no issue but who knows maybe i m just one of thee lucky ones lol. I love both guns and if you already have a 43x mos and can swing it , heck you ll love the mr920 elite. Great pistol and ready to go out of the box. I got mine on Gunbroker for a great deal. I got mine from a company called the gun crew nashville. I paid like 900 for mine and that a great price .
@@jaason101 ya...I'm eyeing a combat. Basic, no dot on this one. I've got more dots than optic pistols now. I figured I'd give a 920 a shot for a 620.00 "glock" but no need to change trigger. Got my mos with blue label. That can't be beat. Lol

Have had the MR920L Elite with Holosun 508T for over a year never ever one issue, malfunction etc. have 1000+ round through it it is such a smooth shooting gun absolutely love it! Compatible with Glock mags and G17 holsters.
yeah i have heard of some people having issues but i have had none. My MR920 shoots great and i am super happy with it. Glock was so far ahead of everyone and it is sad to see them lag behind these other companies. I truly hope Glock steps it up in the future. You should get a metal trigger and night sights standard. There are so many good striker fire pistols out and they give you a lot more for your money. I would like to see theem come out with more options. Maybe an elite version or something.
@@jaason101 lag behind? When did you start to believe they lagged behind? For me it was in 2018 when the patent for their gen 3 expired. After that all these companies came out with their clones. Shadow systems being the best. I'll get a Shadow systems eventually.

One of the best polymer striker fired pistols I have ever fired or carried, period!! My only complaint is personal that has nothing to do with the pistol... MR 920 E in Coyote tan. Prob going to pick up the XR
Glock was the best for a long time and they just rested on their reputation and there are several manufacturers who have surpassed them. They need to put a little time and money in R&D. ✌️👍👌🙏
Shadow systems says their guns need a break in period of about 200 rounds.
I was fully expecting mine to have a few feeding or ejection problems during the SS suggested break-in period, but surprisingly I had zero issues! To be fair, I lubed with milcomm prior to shooting the first 200.
Mine took about 700 rounds but then worked flawlessly

I bought a G19 then MR920 Elite hands down for the price SS wins if you plan on stippling slide cut trigger
Also have the DR920P and it’s a flat shooter
Great review! I still have 2 of my Glocks, but sold 2 others to pick up the MR920 Combat. I used to carry my G43X quite a bit, but since getting the MR, I haven't carried it once. The weight is just about the same and I can shoot the hell out of the MR. My benchmark for pistol accuracy is my Colt Combat Elite, the MR920 is the 1st pistol to meet that benchmark! I'm seriously looking at the CR920 as my next SS piece. The only drawback is that the mags are proprietary.
What? I just ordered a War Poet MR920. It hasn’t arrived yet but I kinda figured it would take Glock mags. I actually planned on buying Magpul mags for G19. I will be pretty disappointed if that is not the case.
@@shumardi1 My bad, I should've been clearer. The Glock 19, 19X, 45, 17, etc mags will fit the MR920 with no problem. It's the CR920 that has the proprietary mags. Sorry for the confusion.
If it helps the Shield Arms S15 mags fit in the CR920. It over hangs the grip though

I thought about the cr920 too but have been seeing a good bit of negative complaints. I usually wait a little bit when something new comes out and let them work the bugs out. I find the 43x mos hard to beat. The S15 mags took the 43x to a different level. 15 +1 rounds in that small of a pistol is perfect for conceal carry. I was surprised how accurate is is too.
I have the DR920 elite coming. Sometimes I wonder if I should not have got the comped version.
How did the comp version work out for you? I hear that running it on the lighter 12 pound springs will avoid issues.
@@geoffreyklepeis4640 I have yet to get the pistol. Another few weeks but yes, shadow systems will send out a replacement spring that fixes any issues. As soon as I get it I will be sending off for the new spring. I cannot wait to get this one in hand and to the range. The flat shooting of it mixed with the compensator taking recoil down is gonna make this one amazing to shoot.
I bought one not only because I know it saves money.
I have a factory manufacturer gun that I will not touch
I have the MR920L and the XR920 and interchange the slides with the frames and therefore, in theory, I have 4 of the 6 guns that Shadow Systems offers. Just something to think about...
I have the mr920l with the 507c on it as well and it's a really good gun I put my sig p320 in the safe the shadow system mr920l is my edc
I am actually deciding between these two and having a hard time..the elite versions of both models...which one do you like best?
@@gichigaming5844 the mr920l elite is the one I have and I love it . It is my edc with the holison and a light on it in a teir one appdex holster and I love it
@@gichigaming5844 was trying to send you a pick of how mine is set up but oh well I can sport it in the teir one with the extra mag wearing a tee shirt and you don't know if I'm ccw . I put my sig p320 in the safe lol
@@MichaelSmith-cq4zk I was eyeing up the XR920 elite is it just the hand grip as the difference. I don’t have big hands at all medium sized but I do like the shorter barrel - I am wondering how much bigger is the handgrip and does it make a difference concealing it?
Isn’t anyone concerned about how little of steel is between the front of the rear sight and the optic cut? You would think that little piece of metal under stress would just break off. The stock supporting the dovetail is extremely tiny!
There’s more MR920 content on UA-cam but not so much DR920. So disappointed because it’s the one I have and having trained with full size pistols like the Beretta 92fs and the Sig P226 I gravitated towards the full size version. Mind you, I haven’t fired a Glock 17 at all so my SS is my first foray into the the world of striker fired polymer pistols.
My CZ P10, Glock 19 and 45 runs flawless out of the box... From SS it would be "normal" to have FTF and FTE until 200 or 300 rounds... No, it's not ! I never had issues with Glock or CZ . Just look how many videos treats about issues and fails with brand new SS compares to one's about Glock or CZ. For the price of the gun, it's a shame. Many shooters that have had SS , sold them and came back to the original brand because of lack of confidence and reliability of these pricey clones. They are beautiful and certainly could be a really nice evolution, i wanted to get one but i'm not convicted after all the issues reports... And in Europe they are really expensive, about 1600€ so, there is better option for that price.
Hard to get one of these when I can get an le trade in glock for 1/4 of the price of these in almost any caliber I want.

The point of the Shadow Systems are if you get the Glock then stipple the frame, have the slide cut for an optic and get an aftermarket trigger and matchgrade barrel youd end up paying more than the cost of a Shadow System

Put it like this to pay 2000$ to customize a Glock I rather just buy an a staccato
