- You may know Luka as "the medic" from UF PRO series of videos.
He is an ex-special forces member, an operator from ESD (Enota za Specialno Delovanje) of Slovenian Armed Forces.
Luka wrote an excellent book that takes you through his selection for Slovenian Army special forces unit ESD, his training, some deployments and a highly regarded SOCM (Special Operations Combat Medic) course.

Had a Slovenian exchange officer in my LAVTC class at Pendleton. Dude was a monster. Super unimposing guys with a great sense of humor, but was a true warrior. To top it off...he was a fucking Salsa Dance instructor.

Man I love the UF pro medic series. I stumbled across it a couple months ago and find myself going back to it. Both for the helpful medic tips and this guys hilarious delivery.
Aha, the UFPro medic. Nice! Getting good information on building the right rucksacks and IFAKs. Some top people you have in Slovenia.
I recognize some of the training areas in the clips, always a blast working with the slovenians.
About to order the book. VERY interested to see the experiences from someone on the other side of the world. Sounds like he has a lot of wisdom to share. Thanks for the heads up!!
Awesome that he went through the 68W and SOC-M courses. I've only heard outstanding things about how well those courses are run.

I like the modisty when he said “in books are mentioned things I did and mistakes I made”. I see him as a combat veteran with lots of skills that is not overconfident, but rather level-head with down-to-earth mindset. This is truly rare.

It is. We had a family gathering over this weekend and my niece told me I can't call my mom fat and that I should be body conscious. She also said we are all crazy boomers.

There is quite a big difference between urban youth and rural one, but I guess that's the same everywhere.

@@teobaric1109 I wonder what kind of gear SV doesn't have for training that HV has? Ships? Triglav seems ok for training ... Helikopters? I dont know ... Cougar is just as good as Mil8 ... I belive its more matter of exchanging experiance and stuf ... That's why NATO soldiers are coming in Slovenia (Mountain warfare center of Excellence) for mountain combat trainings ... and I belive, they all have mountains, gear and vehicles ;-)

Več mladih bo zdaj sigurno šlo in tudi jaz. Mene osebno je ta nova oprema res privabila ter veliko ostalih. Plača je vredu a se mora tudi zraven prišteti hrana, najboljši fitnes, itd. Za pripadnika rezerve se bom pa pozanimal kako je saj mi ni za aktivno službo.
Odlična izkušnja, veliko spoznaš o temu kako delovati v kolektivu, predvsem pa največ spoznaš o sebi.
Zelo priporočam!
Glede službe je pa tako, definitivno ni za vsakega.
Jaz sem že kot mulc skos rinil v vojsko, pa so mi vsi - predvsem pa poklicni vojaki to odsvetovali, oziroma moje zanimanje pospremili z vprašanjem zakaj?
Ko sem že skoraj končal študij obramboslovja in je bila na vrsti šola za častnike sem se moral dokončno odločiti in sem se odločil da ne grem v to kariero. O temu sta odločala dva glavna faktorja - plača in vrsta dela.
Mene je namreč veselil teren, taktika in pa največ orožje in streljanje - in do takrat sem k sreči že spoznal, da bi v vojski moral delati vse drugo, samo streljati ne :D
@@PolenarTactical bolj me je privabilo skupinsko delo oz. da nikoli nisi sam in, da imaš vedno nekoga na katerega se lahko zaneseš in on nate ter enotnost in poved najmočnejši kot najšibkejši člen ne pa, da tečeš naprej in pustiš počasnejše uzadaj.
