Ive worked with Boris several times in the past. He won't admit. but he is very knowledgeable, and great all-around teacher. The knowledge you will get in this series...is rare. keep this in mind.
I'm so thankful for these videos and yours alike! It's hard to fit all this into a civilian àpplication, its obviously setup more for LEO/Military but if I take a little bit from each video. Its still good to know these things as a civilian. And im talking about all the training/informational videos as well! Thanks again!
Yes it is! I've never seen before this kind of knowledgements in Spain or in any other units I could know like SBS, KSK or Marine Raiders. Now as a law enforcer is even more difficult to see it, but it really can be so usefull for my unit to track drug dealers from the beach to some isolated camp zones.
Pd: Would you come to Spain in the future Eli? Me and my partners would love to have some lessons with you.
@@karlgreenkgv hi bud you are welcome to visit us. We had some initial interest from some of the Spanish SF

Dear God! So good, this thing needs a oscar nomination for cinematography, composition and mood. Feels like I'm watching a good movie! very professional, just like the gear :P
Thanks! We'll start working on that speech. 😎😁

ZOMBiE this was really good I love sword fighting!!! I saw Origin: Unlimited Blade Works ua-cam.com/video/etxEj71cYwk/v-deo.html and it was awesome! The intro is way to long but it’s good once the Fencing Starts. I’d hate to have to survive with just a sword but people did it once upon a time.
I'm not into gun's, war or anything of that nature but I liked this video. Feel like I actually learned something. Great work.
I've seen multi million dollars movies with less interesting cinematics and far worse storytelling. This was phenomenal
Hahaha same lol
The acting too. Star of the 🎭 had proper voicing an cadence an was engaging
Sorry but tbh Its not a compliment, hollywood just sucks.

Okay, so today's evening walk in the forest promises to be much more interesting......
Mind the signs. 👣
@@ufprogear i'll try my best) btw, any chance you could publish something like a printable "tracker's refference sheet" on your website in pdf format? like, a little spreadsheet with place for sketching, and tick-in-boxes for height and footwear/vehicle type measurement and registration? (something like tac-med card, but for tracking)
So people could download it, print it out, and just fill the form if they stumble across the signs.... How does this idea sound?
@@l5mtf393 that's actually pretty dope. Would download and print off
@@eagleone5456 ikr. I started searching for one, as soon as I have finished watching, but couldnt find any. Time is crucial in such situations, and nothing is worse than trying to remember what the hell are you suppored to write and take note of, when your target is getting away from you. Much easier to use ready sheets where there is a list of items and you just go over them.

You know something is really good when a 16 minute video feels like it only had 3 😢
Thank you UF pro for such an amazing video and thank you Rangers for protecting the wildlife!!
They do noble work. 🙏
These rangers are beyond admirable. To give their lives to protect the beauty of nature. I wish they received more international assistance. Bravo UF for helping these men fight.
One of the best tutorials on tracking I have witnessed in my life. Every law enforcement and military unit should have at least one professional tracker.
Man, the production values of these videos are so much better than all the other tactical videos on UA-cam. I’m liking it.
I love Tracking. I am doing Animal Tracking, we have just learnt Human Tracking Last week, It is so nice. I am from Mozambique and I am A student at Tracker Acdemy in South Africa. I love your contents. You are very knowledgeble. Thank you so much.
Sherlock Holmes in the woods. Very well done and interesting video!
Elementary my dear Regina :)
The skillset for this is amazing! I cannot imagine how many years it has taken to master this! A turned over leaf FFS! Just amazing!
I've been impressed with the ability of my brothers-in-law to track deer when hunting. This guy takes it to a whole other level. Great training, skill, professionalism. How many of us wish we had that.
I did super basic combat hunter During BWT in bootcamp over a decade ago. We had a Scout Sniper teaching the course. It wasnt super in depth but it was stupid interesting hearing his story about how he was tracking a HVT that he shot and wounded. Ive never heard of Tracking before than in any real context. Its definitely a unique and extremely usefull skill set. This guy breaks it down in a easy to understand the basics. You have captured my attention.
UF Pro's videos are GOLD, explanation, video editing, sound design, professional instructors are all prefect
I loved the CQC videos and I am really hyped for the next episode of this series
Good job guys, keep up the high quality videos
There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.
Ernest Hemingway
This is much better than many movies!
One of my Recon Team Leaders in Fort Lewis had gone to Malaysian Mantracker when he was in 2/75. He took our team through a series of PEs doing this kind of work on one of our field problems in the Fort Lewis training areas, which was a lot of fun. He sent the ATL out in advance to create sign, then we'd wait and he'd talk us through every piece of sign he found, the same way you see in this video. It was good training for sure.
Awesome. Just another tool in the toolbox, he did well sensitizing his team to the subtleties of sign. You never know when an observation might give you the edge. Stay safe Sir.
@@borisvos1971 Thanks man. Have you read any of H. John Poole's works? I found it interesting that he places a high degree of importance on tracking training for dismounted light infantry dealing with insurgencies in the sub-unit collection-level Intel cycle. He's an interesting cat for sure. He was a USMC Company Commander in Vietnam, and after 15 years of service as an officer, resigned his commission to be an NCO teaching and running small unit leadership courses and experiments. He lists practical reasons why dismounted units need to be proficient with tracking and field investigative work, by describing in-detail some of the micro terrain in hot spots around the world. These include:
* Tunnel networks for smuggling on the Iraq-Syria border
* Urban signs for infiltration and escape commonly used by real tribal peoples in several nations in Africa, Southeast Asia, the US-Mexican border, and the Middle East
* How unit leaders not trained in tracking and field investigative work are easily out-maneuvered and surprised by cunning locals who have to use their intimate familiarity with their terrain to out-wit our firepower and predictable patterns.
@@LRRPFco52 Very interesting, and Mr. Poole makes some very valid points. Especially the last bullet point. When operating in an area it is a challenge not to set any patterns. Tracking by opposing forces will allow them to get a sound understanding of those patterns over time, resulting in more focussed and well-timed engagements. Many rural and/or pastoral communities still rely on some level of tracking to keep with their livestock, and they know their areas like the back of their hand. Anything that changes from that baseline, like tracks of a unit moving through, will almost inevitably alert someone. And then we know what's coming. There's a couple of other really interesting applications, that I'm not comfortable talking about on an open forum, but the military application is still very valid. Thank you Sir, for pointing this author out to me. I will have a dive in.
@@borisvos1971 Do you have the "Covert Rural Surveillance" handbook? Written by a guy with a strong Recce background out of the UK. Awesome book really. I was in several recon units in the US Army, including 3 Scout Platoons, Long Range Surveillance, and some others.
The best influence on us came from ILRRPS out of Germany, the NATO Coalition Recce, Survival, SUTs school down in Bavaria. We sent a lot of guys to courses there from Corps LRS.
The US lacks a fundamental reconnaissance culture of that nature for some reason. Recon is looked at more as a block to be checked in the Troop Leading Procedures and treated almost administratively in our dismounted patrolling schools.
There are precious few units who internalize the necessary HUMINT mindset and skills required to do it professionally.
Your tracking training would be an excellent course to integrate into Infantry Basic Officer Leadership, Infantry OSUT at Benning, and the Infantry NCO professional development system.
LRRPFco52 Mate, if you want send me an email on boris.vos@leadranger.org. I’d enjoy furthering this chat on a more personal level 👊🏽👊🏽

Anybody that passes through Boris hand is automatically a professional and am glad to be part of his student when he and his team came to Ghana to take us through Ranger lifesaving coure; which was so detailed and informative. And the other side of Boris is that he posses these sense of humour that makes you never tired of his lessons. I must confess that the man is so knowledgeable; And am hoping to be part of his team of trainers too someday.

This is the first video breakdown I have seen detailing the observation and recognition of signs left by a person or animal. Discusses some types of signs and environmental factors related. Two thumbs up.👍 👍
This series actually helped me find my great aunt who was lost in the woods for a little while.
The production quality on these videos is damn superb. Great work!

While I will admit I have "reservations" about the Reserve Rangers and the amount of ppl they disappear, also because they tend to work as mercenaries on the side. Not contractors. I do believe that the information here is well worth learning and the facts about what the Preserve Rangers do is not on UF & Pro. So go for it, and teach me more. I have a true respect for this channel and what they do. Keep up the awesomeness.
Finally a tracking video with a good teacher and a story 👍
I’ve attended The Malaysian Combat Tracker school at Camp Pulada, Malaysia and the David Scott Donelan tactical tracking school in Arizona. This video is both legit and awesome. Good stuff here.

I've always wanted to learn how to track and this is a fantastic start. Please make more of these!
This is such a well made video my god. From the angles to outline animations and sound. And don't even get me started on the music 10/10 thank you for sharing!

Wow...how timely...! This video came up on YT's suggested play list today. Been on the lookout for useful tracking content to contribute to my script writing for possible post-Aoocalyptic adventure series, set in tropical Venezuela 7-8months after the collapse, where a new warlord hires a mercenary bounty hunter to track the protagonist on her journey to a coveted sanctuary community.

Wow this is such a well made series. Super interessting to watch while being so greatly educational. One of the best things Ive seen on yt for a long time. Had this in my watch later list for way to long.
Awesome video! Not only was the information very good, but the videography and editing was excellent.
Excellent job, this shared some properties of accident reconstruction. The road or path can tell some of the story by the physical evidence left behind even when there is no one to ask (Locard's exchange principle).
Every contact leaves a trace, very true. Accident reconstruction is a science and an art, especially when you have to prove it in a court of law. Great skills!
Thank you for using real communication techniques and procedures
Wicket sweet in every way!
Really dig the first person feel.

@@ufprogear you are welcome👍🤘... hopefully I will remember all these lessons and use them in the future .
This is a fantastic series if you are ever going to volunteer withe a local SAR group. I once was in rural surveillance team as a PI and some goober located a hide me and my partner worked out of for several days. we both were decent at what we did and at the time our egos chalked it up to him being lucky. but thinking about the stuff here, we were leaving neon signs for the trained eye. great stuff, Boris and team.
I can't wait for episode 4 of this series. I watched the first 3 episodes 3 times now!
UF Pro guys are really, really good at what they do. Great teachers, too.
The production is amazing. It’s like a movie 👍
Interesting how the rest of the hunter group are visible in the road. I presume it differ from country to country? Flash backs galore. Cool video. Well made and explained. We hardly ever let the whole hunter group run single file on the spoor. Always 2 out front to left and right and 1 out back all in visual or small audible call signals in contact with the tracker in the middle running the spoor. Out runners always look for anti tracking in line with the spoor. So they are as trained as tracker and rear man anti track hunter group as well as look for signs that might have been missed. Even going in on the spoor single file you can run into a passive/static ambush. Thought I throw it out there. Will like to see the next video. Well done again.
Maximum Man spot on mate. Well talk about that further down the track. No spoilers though! 😃😃
@@borisvos1971 Thanks sir. I'm a bit long in the tooth, so I'm sure tactics have changed and would love to see the new ideas. Respect.

Outside the lack of headgear, this is on point. It was nice to get a reminder on tracking. Was always one of my own weak points.
This guy is amazing , he can tell the unseen story . Thank you sir !
Tracking is the most fascinating and fundamental skill out there; whether you're are a simple hunter or an elite operator, you'd benefit greatly from knowing the basics.
Thats funny I do something similar as a tow truck driver to find people with no cellphone signal lost out on trails or in fields. Sometimes I just find the unattended vehicle. So now I have to find the driver usually they walk up to a higher point to grab cell signal. I'm all ears to this video! Awesome!
Another fantastic, high quality training series from UF PRO. Very impressive.

Outstanding! Reminds me of the Shadow Wolves unit here in America.
Salute to the Rangers for patrolling & going after poachers.
what it takes to be that detailed oriented. Good work guys
I talk to this South African Spec Ops guy (retired now) regularly, and he told me he used to free captured native Africans from hands of communist Cubans, that would kidnap them and force into their regime, across Africa.
Cuba apparently did a lot of shady stuff in Africa, and was looking to convert and conquer a lot countries in its' infancy.
He used to run with a native tracker, he said tracker was amazing, he saved their behinds many times.
Spec Ops guy used to free kidnapped as such in Angola, and neighboring countries. Maybe Sudan, I forget now.
Trackers see world very differently. Things that look normal, don't look normal to them. Always amazes me the level of detail they see in plain scenery.
Now that you have taught us how to track hvts you should do a guide on how to disappear, how to hide your own tracks
The term "on track" is so much more badass in this context
You guys do a very important job. Thank you so much for risking your life in this noble task.
Excellent. Wish they had a complete online class. leaves me wanting more.
Well shot video. I really do despise the constant need to add "tactical" to everything though. In the mid/late 80's I was paid to hunt insurgents. We used local tribesmen as trackers. Although a trained tracker myself, the local tribesmen were phenomenal in their abilities. I didn't learn much from this video, to be honest. But it is certainly well produced and it is great to see tracking skills still being taught and learned in this age of technology. I have no idea why any African country would employ a European as a tracking instructor, other than clever marketing and self promotion. (Assuming Boris comes from Europe) I could find superior tracking skills and greater "tactical" ability within Africa. If you want to know what it takes to hunt armed men, every day, week after week, year after year then Google "Koevoet". "Koevoet", the book, by American journalist Jim Hooper is a great read on how we tracked and eliminated insurgents. Some of the greatest years of my life.
That's what i call good work the important things are in the details thanks UF PRO
Our pleasure! 👍

Cant beleive I found these golden nuggets of survival/tracking information. Thank you for sharing the wealth! Stay frosty out there! 😉. 👍
Great work - once again! Boris is a great tracker!
Blackout the Limit that’s too kind. The more you know, the more you know how little you know. The ranger trackers in Africa have a level of skill I will never be able to attain. Watching them at work is a humbling experience 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@borisvos1971 When I was a kid, my friend and I hunted doves next to the Magol River in the the northern Bushveld of South Africa. I shot a dove with my kettie (sling shot) and broke its wing. I wanted to let it go as it was half flapping through the jessy (thick riverine under bush). My friend, we were like 8 or 9 years old, procede to track the dove for almost 50 meters. I remembered it felt like magic. I was hooked. Now I teach those skills to the younglings in the family and even though I've been tracking wildlife a lifetime now, I agree with your assessment, those who grew up in the African bush have a skill beyond most and more. Again respect to a fellow craftsman.
Tracking skills and experience? Ask Philippine scout ranger. They're the bad ass with real experience. Awesome video 👍
Ah, proper radio etiquette. So satisfying...

Got a lot of home work to do lol. But will great video and I can se how to apply this to every day life just being aware spot surroundings
There better be a part 2! Back in the day, there was a really high speed tracking course in New Zealand. The best part was evading tracking K-9s. I'd like to see that @ UF PRO
Whitesp44 Kiwi armed forces have a really high quality tracking course. You can however imagine that countering K-9s is not something that needs to be on UA-cam. Super interesting subject though!
@@borisvos1971 I'd really like to see k9 evasion on YT tbh. Citizens should be highly capable in case their government goes bad or another event caused serious chaos
