Oh yeah, Hammermill is da'bomb, I wouldn't think of foiling without it !! Anything shiney is awesome & that includes your card. Thanks for the reminder that I own that battery eraser & that it's not doing any good where it's currently lounging, time to put it to work, it's been on va'cay.
You know, I have a Pinterest board called, "Timmy wants all my $$" and now, I need one called, "CZ TAKES all my $$" LOL Love the new tool. Been debating on getting the hot foil system. You, you, enabler! :) Great card.
Once I started using Hammermill paper for my hot foiling it was a game changer. Now I will whip out my Glimmer hot foil machine to make just one sentiment and think nothing of it!
Beautiful card! Hearing that eraser reminded me I need to schedule to get my teeth cleaned. Hammermill is great for foiling, though I didn't care for it as much with Copic as I do Neenah, so I keep both. The Hammermill is also great for dye ink blending! It's a coated paper, so it's a bit more forgiving when blending.
Yep. The only thing worse than buying a tool and then not using it, is buying one and then discovering you already had one. 😉 Thanks for this, with hugs from Maine!
With the new thermoweb foils you do not even need a hot foil machine!! They are amazing!! Gina k has some as well as Unity also I think. Gina did a video on these! You can use any cardstock!
It's the night of discoveries! I enjoyed watching your excitement in your new toys! Your card it beautiful with its perfect foiling! I found out about the Hammermill at Nancy Stamps and the FSC (Foiling Snobs Club). She has oodles of foiling tips and it's so much fun!
Thankyou so much KZ.I bought my foil system 11/09/22 . I just opened the box yesterday . I purchased that tool last year and didnt know why. But as I was trying to foil, it didnt look good. I will try that Hammermill paper. This is the first time I saw this vedio there was no thumbs up. It has one now, thanks again
Love the card, not quite ready to buy a foil machine. I have never taped my cards closed but I was making a very special 93rd birthday card for my mom and was ready to ddf the shaker top to my card base and when I opened it, I had glued it to the base up side down, meaning the card would indeed be a top folding card! LOL! I had to cut the base off and make a new one! I saved the day but it sure gave me the Oh! No's!! at the time!
Ahhh. So much gold goodness going on! The perfect video for a morning wake-up. A very clean and "you make it look so easy " card. The finishing touch with cascading "boop" elements is spectacular. Love it. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us here in UA-cam land. Look forward to your next card sesh 👉
Don't know how long it will be last but I think the Link Deli has worked out the problem. Thanks for listening and responding to my cry for "help". I certainly appreciate it. Thanks.
Lovely card! Was curious if you saw Jennifer Mcguires video she did called adding dimension to handmade cards. She sent herself two cards, one with foam tape and one with craft foam. The one with the foam tape arrived horribly as you could see from the front where it had been smashed in mailing yet the ine with the craft foam arrived beautifully.
Thanks for the video Cathy. I played with my Glimmer machine and the Hammermill over the last weekend. Mixed results, especially with the Aura Glimmer Foil. I think your process of not putting on the foil and paper until after it stops blinking and then straight to the Spellbinder is a bit different than what I was doing. I'm going to give that a try!
Cathy, I have not used my hot foil machine yet nor the eraser. I did put batteries in my eraser and was going to use it and then I haven’t hot foiled. But when I checked my eraser the batteries had corroded in it so I don’t know if it’s smart to keep batteries in it or not. Maybe happened just because I haven’t used it?! After this video I think I’ll get my hot foil machine out! Thanks for building confidence.
Yes, Hammermill is your foiling friend. I was ready to give it up before finding this cardstock. For color, I find Gina K works well. I made a few Christmas cards using her red color CS and it worked well. Hammermill works well for most of my card making needs. Great to watch and see you so excited!
That was awesome. I just bought some hammermill but have not tried because of my other results. I notice I can not pull my plate from the platform smoothly, it always jerks and my plate rolls terrible threw my platinum, very unevenly no matter how slow. Oh well, you made this look super easy. Thanks I may try again. Beautiful card
Great cards, tfs. I do not have a glimmer machine, but my crafting pal does. She decided to get the Hammermill as well since she was struggling with the foiling. She was super disappointed! 🤷 Maybe it's just how old the die cut machines are, how worn they are...who knows. She tried the cardstock from Hobby Lobby and said it worked great. 🤔🤨
I love hot foiling! I have your Merry die from Christmas. Do you have any more because I love your style and if not when are you going to come out with more?
I always thought the foiling would easily wear off. But after seeing you color over it with the brushes I see the possibilities. Learning so much today. And yes, the eraser reminds me of the dentist too! 😀
I may need to stop following you😂 I keep spending $$!!!! Just kiddin-LOVE this card. The foil turned out beautifully☀️ And my Spellbinders die cutting machine arrives tomorrow. I didn’t know the foil machine went through it. Very cool.
I don’t see a link to your gold bling…? Love the card! Noticed my Hammermill is 65#, so I just ordered 100#! Can’t wait to open up my Glimmer box and play this weekend! 💕
Always love getting results I want after first tries haven't worked. If you get the solid hot foil plate (waffle flower or pinkfresh), you can die cut a circle then hot foil it to be the same colour gold.
I love watching your videos! Thanks for all the good information and beautiful cards. I appreciate your graphic arts little lessons too. Your videos are always fun to watch. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing.
Your card turned out so pretty! Just bought a ream of Hammermill off Amazon, they finally had a 1 pack of 250 sheets for $20+ USD. I have *a bunch* of hot foil plates, shapes and sentiments, a rather recently purchased Glimmer machine and Platinum 6 machine, and my silly self has yet to use any of them! I also have one of those electric erasers, mine is white - haven't used it either! Need to do some unboxings and get with the program. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the info, now I know why my daughter ( who hot foils) ordered a huge package of Hammermill, lol. I'm new to the hot foiling system so I can't wait to try out your ideas. Beautiful card as always !
Awesome card. You reminded me about the fact I have one of those erasers. Used it a while back and love it. You made the foiling look so easy. I'll have to do it soon as I got me the machine a couple of months ago. Thank you for your inspiration. :)
The Hammermill Color copy cover is the optimum one for foiling. Also just a tip, if you put washi tape sticky side out and wrap around your finger like a thimble, you can use it to pick up over foiling close to your design. If you accidentally erase foil it looses it's shine. The foil will stick to your washi. 💞
I absolutely love this! I am a bit intimidated by my glimmer system that I recently bought, but this video has given me a little more confidence that I can make it work, so I will hopefully actually use it soon! Have to get the paper first though! I do have the hammermill glossy, but sometimes that is not the look I am going for, especially if I want to ink blend! Thanks for the fab tips!
Putting Hammermill on my must buy list. Thank you Cathy! I have that eraser/sanding tool also and haven't used it. I am bad at buying and not using too!
SO pretty! Love this! I haven’t done anything with foiling, because I personally can’t justify the expense, when I already own things to get shine on my cards. Honestly, I usually don’t even watch foiling videos, even though I know there are other things I can learn from them. However, I love your videos, so… 😊❤️
Love it. I can so empathize with you breaking that blade. I have that foil trimmer. I didn't break the blade but I was too heavy handed and cut into one of the plastic grooves so now it's not straight. What a brute, eh? Another great card and, shocker, I couldn't be enabled by you because I have ALL the product! Even the detailer...the sound of which makes my teeth hurt but it works well. Happy foiling! P.S. There's nothing like a CZ video first thing in the morning.
@@czdesign I lied. I thought I could resist that sunburst die but after seeing two other videos today featuring it, I caved (and used your link). I especially like that it's one piece. I saw similar die but it had to be foiled twice to get the entire circle. Recipe for disaster in my crafting world or, at least, a whole lot of frustration.
Stunning foiled card! I'm the same way with buying something new and taking a while to use it. i bought that same sander. Relatively new to foiling, so now seeing how it works on foil, I have to get to using it.
That little pen sander looks handy. I wonder how it does on patterned cardstock to remove ink stains. If someone could only make a good tool to remove ink. Ink soaks into the paper though 😢
Oh really, Cathy. Why would your foil have to be cut precisely? The only important issue is to cut the piece of the roll without ripping and/or waisting. But of course, I am just ever so envious because you have a machine that has a matching foiling system! :-)
Love this card!!! Need to find a place in Europe where you can buy hammermill too💪🏻 or something simular👌🏻 Hahaha that eraser reminds me of the dentist🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful card. Must get the paper. Thanks for sharing. P.S. Is anyone out there getting a message when you click on a product and it says access denied? Not just here but everything that has a product listing and places to purchase. HELP!!! Sorry Cathy but I don't know where to ask my question. Rebooted computer but didn't help. 🤔

Linda,NZ here, great results with your head embossing. I'm very glad your not my dentist!
Hahahah! Me too!
That hot foil plate goes through your die cutting machine so smoothly! 😊❤️🇨🇦
It does. It's just the right amount of pressure.
Going to order the hammermill. Everyone on you tube is using it.....you have convinced me!
Yes, I only ordered a pack of 25 just to save for foiling!
Love the card, not quite ready to buy a foil machine. I use 65-80 # white cardstock. Works great! Foil is not great on heavyweight cardstock for some reason
It very mid century modern and I’m feeling it!
Cathy I am still trying foiling but I don’t have a fancy, I refuse to give up. Jenny
I will definitely get this hammermill paper. Thanks for sharing this with the world. Valuable information about the paper.
Glad it was helpful!

Fabulous card!!!
You are so funny. You always make me laugh while also giving crafty advice!
What a beautiful card. You always seem to "boop" just enough added bits of bling.
Don't know how long it will be last but I think the Link Deli has worked out the problem. Thanks for listening and responding to my cry for "help". I certainly appreciate it. Thanks.
Yeah, i think it was a link deli thing. I get errors sometimes when I'm working on my lists… so that must have been it!
I’m a neenah girl too , I make card bases from the 110 lb. I’m gonna try the hammermill for inking, I think. I don’t foul (yet😏).

Oh wow! I have not seen that. SO interesting! Maybe I need to invest in some craft foam!!! I have one tiny piece right now and that's it!
Another beautiful card. Love all the gold goodness and the booping! Jennifer McGuire talked me into buying that eraser and I love using it!
Congratulations! Beautiful
Thank you so much 😀

I can’t wait to try the Hammermill 100lb paper! I need every tidbit of info on how to make my foiling better.
Oh, this is going to make me try hot foiling again!!! Thanks, Cathy!
That is beautiful
Beautiful card. Love the new release. Thank you.
Another masterpiece Cathy. Awesome card. Now to buy all the things you suggested. 😊
I got the 110 lb and find it hard to bend into a card. However it worked great.

Hi Cathy!!! Beautiful card.... I don't have the glimmer, can I use the laminator...will it work as well?
Yes you can! but not with a a hot foil plate type of die, does that make sense? You would have to use different types of products. : )
Do I need to put my mini Minc on a mat when I'm using it because of the heat? Thank you!
It depends on your surface, but typically, no! You do not!
Do you have a link for the correct Hammermill paper? Beautiful card!!!

Cold foiling can be great! Have you seen the new transfers from Therm O Web? I am going to be sharing some ideas with those, soon!
