@Dragongamer 7 Dream is so scary not only because he knows when to bluff, but also because he knows when not to. Something he never bluffs on are his threats, which he showed several times over. So now him threatening with words has almost the same effect as him actually doing the did. I would argue that with Techno Dream's leverage isn't the favour per se (although it is definitely a tool in his arsenal), but the fact that both of them consider fighting each other as something like mutually assured destruction. They have no idea who would win (it would probably come down to preparation and outside factors tbh) and neither of them got to where they were by willingly taking on fights they have a good chance of losing. So they each try to stay on the other good side, or at the very least avoid going directly against them.
Y'know what i think is great? Techno Threatening Dream with the Favor, knowing that dream wouldn't dare use it so hastily. Even if it's an advantage dream holds over techno, He can still use it in his own favor, Like getting dream to back off of him and Techno Knows of the string around his neck, but he also knows that the moment that string is even touched, it'll snap like a fragile web.

I know he betrayed him but Tommy did think of him as a friend canon wise. But come on we all knew he wasn’t going to let L’manburg get blown up without doing anything about it. It would never have worked
@@sadiemorgan4389 Tommy absolutely thought of Techno as a friend, but his loyalty was always attached to L'Manburg and his friends there. He had done fought so much for it, he couldn't just stand by and watch it be destroyed. I used to think that Dream's "Are you sure Techno?" was asking him if he wanted to be on Tommy's side, and now all I see is the question of: are you sure Tommy's on your side, and it just makes it 10 times better! 2:17
I kind of think of this interaction as the moment Dream realized: "Oh! I have to drive a wedge between these two before I can get to Tommy." Because the more I think about it, the more convinced I am that Dream orchestrated the events at the Green Festival to push Tommy into switching sides.
“I have a house, you’ll see” WAIT I THOUGHT HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SHITTY ONE HE BUILT WHILE TECHNO WAS STALKING HIM HE HAD THE BUNKER WITH THE DISCS HE REALLY DOES PLAN EVERYTHING
I think he was more pointing out that all dream had over him was that one favor, and letting dream know he knew he wouldn’t cash it in on that, but that is funny XD
Ok something that I found interesting at 1:37 Dream said “you left” but when Dream took Tommy to that island he said he could leave as long as he don’t go back so in the end Tommy didn’t go against Dream when he went to live with Techno. The only rule he broke was the going back to L’manburg one.
So, how I understand it, is that it's a control/manipulation tactic. Not just literally 'you left the location you were in' but rather in the sense of Tommy left the only location he could be found at, which was the second home Dream made for him in exile, where they spent a lot of time together. So it's more of a 'you left *me*' type of line. That, with the addition of 'I was the only one that was your friend' makes me think it's more of a: "You left when I did so much for you, and now you're here, which you're not supposed to be". I could also be reading wayyy too much into it, but I think Dream is trying to make Tommy feel guilty, basically.
@@Grimmijaggers Wait, now I'm curious. Why does Dream have his snare on Techno? What hold does he have over Techno if Techno has no real material possessions for Dream to hold onto.
2:58 I felt the same way as tommy during that confrontation, felt like a moment from an anime, having two titans have a nonverbal standoff while a much weaker onlooker can not comprehend
Honestly the "puppet scene" is really nice... I actually tough that techno was going to come up with like... idk red scissors or something as a way to show that the strings are being cut off but... honestly it's just great.
Gosh this is amazing! I love how you draw the strings around Tommy's neck and arms, and then around Techno's neck too, it's fantastic. And the heartbeat sound! It really rubs in how terrifying dream is. (Also can I just say that I love how Techno's like 'a business partnership' like he hasnt emotionally adopted this child already)
Oh this interaction was probably my favorite interaction thus far, and you captured it perfectly. Dream's control, shattered by the only man he truly fears on the server, right after the only one he doesn't just threatened him. The interplay between this bunch was so perfect but they did write in Tommy's betrayal. I am still not sure of the narrative decision, but they went with it, and you animators and animatic creators do so well playing with these clips, making them your own with your art. Good job, as always!
This animation is beautiful. I love how you really portrayed some of the emotion in this using just the audio. When Techno and Tommy are nervous about Dream they are on a lower level and smaller than Dream. Dream is on stairs above them looking down. Now let me go way into too much depth on this bit of animation because I just love it so much. When Dream offers his hand out (which is usually meant to represent helping and getting someone off of their feet) there are strings attached to that 'kindness' When Techno goes to defend Tommy he's now on eye level. Face to face. Dream isn't looking at Techno when talking to him and instead focusing on Tommy who is very intimidated when making eye contact with Dream. Tommy moving away from Techno (used to shield himself from Dream) when he hears of the deal. Like Dream's 'kindness' the string around Tommy's neck flashes up when Techno's protection can be persuaded. Instead of hiding behind techno he instead looks up at the two adults towering over him between the two. Both of their actions can be changed or have strings attached. The camera is looking down at Tommy because he's a child caught in the middle of adults who showed him kindness (Dream offering the disc) and protection (Technoblade not handing Tommy over) are for their own gain. He can't go with Dream because of the strings attached, but can't hide behind techno at this second because of the possible trade over. When Dream turns his back (no longer having eye contact with Tommy) he gets confident. Then when the adult with some power stands up to Dream and talks back to him Tommy follows his lead. MAYBE I'm going way into this but still
This is AMAZING! Now that I understand better that Dream has strings on everyone I can see how powerful he is, especially facing Techno, who owns Dream only 1 favor, a trading card so powerful that I cannot even imagine when the lore will use it
i love the scene at the end where tommy's just like "go f yourself" and then in the next frame just go **adios** with technoblade and then they both leave dream and like the way how techno is like a parent to tommy is so adorable, it's hard to believe that tommy betrayed techno
Just saying this was one of my favourite moments in the entire smp only beaten by “welcome home Theseus”/ “you want to be a hero Tommy? THEN DIE LIKE ONE” and you animated it to perfection. I love how Techno isn’t just a fearless bloodthirsty warrior all the time and you show him being slightly afraid. 0:15 portrays this perfectly. Keep it up and I’m sure you’ll get as big a reputation as Sadist one of these days. And remember. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD
@@Grimmijaggers It's just the truth. Out of all the animations I've watched of this, no one has managed to upset your place as reigning kind of animating moments that are purely petrifying.
I just love it whenever Techno and Dream are against each other or team up, it feels like none of the other guy in the server can compare to them, those two are just in a totally different level
Holy crap. When techno stepped in and the green chains went away, wow. That was absolutely incredible, that was so amazing, it was like, the most perfect animation to pair this scene with. I started freaking out that was so incredible. This deserves a million likes
Thank you! It's easier for me to draw the characters over and over again if they're not too detailed. Not that I dont love detailed character designs, haha.
The beauty of the favor is that, so long as Dream has it, he can't ask ANYTHING of Techno. Until that favor is used, Techno can simply respond 'is this the favor' and decline anything he doesn't want to do already. In owing Dream a favor, Techno is ironically entirely shielded from his machinations. And all it costs is the knowledge that, one day, he'll actually call it in.
something that i just realised/thought about. when Dream said "tommy umma need you to come with me" what-what was he going to do to tommy? Take him back to the place he was exiled and destroy all his things again? lock him up somewhere far away? put him in the prison? (cant remember if it was built at this time or not) dream wouldn't of killed tommy but...how much would he have tortured him, if techno hadn't stepped in?
I think Dream was going to put him in the prison, or put him in a temporary prison of some sorts until he could be transferred to the current one he's in. Either way, I think he'd manipulate Tommy into believing everything was his fault and he deserves to be alone, except this time because he disappointed Dream and not because he was exiled by Tubbo. Glad that didn't happen, it'd be heartbreaking to see.
Hm, don’t you ever think Tommy is becoming the next Dream? Everyone was so afraid of Tommy being the next Wilbur but, he might just be the next Dream. All the things Dream did (what you just said) is almost what Tommy is doing, took away everything and blew them up, putting Dream in prison with nobody to see him, Tommy doing the same tactic Dream did with the manipulation, etc. Don’t you ever just think that?
@@zensvy that's pretty interesting actually, I haven't watched many of tommy's streams lately so as far as I know he was building the hotel with sam and just acting generally the same as when he first joined the smp. But it wouldn't surprise me if he did start acting like dream, with his characters trauma, i feel it'd be more likely for him to use the tactics used on him, in order to protect himself from being manipulated again. perhaps, unintentionally hurting the people around him, to protect himself.
It lowkey still upsets me how loyal techno was to tommy and then how tommy went on and BETRAYED HIM at the DROP OF A HAT. (Also you captured the feeling of this scene perfectly)
I love this for the fact that me and my friend are doing an SMP, so I'm starting to watch Dream SMP so I can learn and god knows these two will teach many. Thank you, Dream, and you too Technoblade.
I feel like dream and techno have a mutual respect and somewhat fear of each other, because they know that the other is the only one that can kill them. By themselves atleast

I think he was more pointing out that all dream had over him was that one favor, and letting dream know he knew he wouldn’t cash it in on that, but that is funny XD
Dream: doesn’t care about the insults they make*
Techno: makes a homeless comment*
Dream: YOU WHAT
XD
i love the 'child plz' above techno's head when he's telling him not to jump in the lava XD
aww I didn’t notice that!
dream's character developmemt changes over time as the rp continues-
I have no idea where it's going, but I love it

That, with the addition of 'I was the only one that was your friend' makes me think it's more of a:
"You left when I did so much for you, and now you're here, which you're not supposed to be".
I could also be reading wayyy too much into it, but I think Dream is trying to make Tommy feel guilty, basically.
@@Grimmijaggers ye that’s what I thought
I love the green threads attached from Dream to Tommy and Techno.
I'm glad you do! I had fun drawing them
@@Grimmijaggers Wait, now I'm curious. Why does Dream have his snare on Techno? What hold does he have over Techno if Techno has no real material possessions for Dream to hold onto.
personally i love the ones which animate tommy with a robe like technoblade while they work together
Others gave him the design, but I decided not to.
he really just pulled out "the adults are speaking" card ON THE CHILD.
Techno sounds so badass when he says, "Well, that's gonna be a bit of a problem, Dream."
i like when tommy goes "shields up" she sounds serious but then techo just go's EEERRRRRR
She?
XD
I love that as soon as Tommy went "hey" they all dropped character-
Dream really said: “If i dont have a home, NO ONE WILL!” But- with uh- actions?- you get the point -w-
I love that dream said "I have something in mind for that later" with his favor from techno......now after I saw what they did to L'Manberg I know why
And the favor wasn't called in.
everytime I see these animatics I just remember techno's “homeless green teletubby” and making fun of dream as he built his “evil lair” lmao
Tbh it is very funny lmao
Sadly the betrayal of Tommy.
Yep sadly u.u
🥺?
2:58 I felt the same way as tommy during that confrontation, felt like a moment from an anime, having two titans have a nonverbal standoff while a much weaker onlooker can not comprehend
Honestly the "puppet scene" is really nice... I actually tough that techno was going to come up with like... idk red scissors or something as a way to show that the strings are being cut off but... honestly it's just great.
Thank you!
The only reason I didnt do that is because Dream still has control over them of varying degree.
Eee thank you so much! I'm glad you like it!!
And literally, techno acting like hes not going to be heartbroken later on
haha yes I love this! it’s so cute, he’s in denial about caring about Tommy
The green string around Techno b/c of the “favor” was genius :D
Thank you!
Haha thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it
:)
When Dream offers his hand out (which is usually meant to represent helping and getting someone off of their feet) there are strings attached to that 'kindness'
When Techno goes to defend Tommy he's now on eye level.
MAYBE I'm going way into this but still
I absolutely love this oml. I'm so happy you noticed all these things!! I love comments like these thank you ahhhhh
*This.*
SJHDGJSJK "THE ADULTS ARE SPEAKING" DAMN TECHNO
"Dont ask question Tommy, the adults are speaking..." I felt that considering the fact that I am a child
1:04 "Once i've got them every problem on this server comes to an end" *everyone's future self laughing at this*
Also I love how serious when Techno and Dream are negotiating and the second after that they just start joking around, oh these two are just so cool
Tommy’s face when techno stepped in :3 it’s gold 🤗
Alt Title: The Blood God and a lime smiley face argue over a young 16 year old who got exiled by the child president of a drug nation.
accurate
“the child president”, lol
This is AMAZING! Now that I understand better that Dream has strings on everyone I can see how powerful he is, especially facing Techno, who owns Dream only 1 favor, a trading card so powerful that I cannot even imagine when the lore will use it
Thank you!!
i love the scene at the end where tommy's just like "go f yourself" and then in the next frame just go **adios** with technoblade and then they both leave dream and like the way how techno is like a parent to tommy is so adorable, it's hard to believe that tommy betrayed techno
“Don’t ask questions Tommy, the adults are speaking” AAAAAA I THAT QUOTE HIT ME SO HARD
Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it!
Techno is this situation is like a dad watching his 2 kids roughhousing but only steps in when they start to get serious
my favorite and most underrated part "good day, bye bye" with that grin, ah i love it so much
It's old, but glad you like it!

@@kiaramia6508 hii how are you

This basically confirms that the only thing that could make Dream lose control of himself is being called homeless-
You literally catch the most terrifying moments of the SMP perfectly.
Thank you so much!
@@Grimmijaggers It's just the truth. Out of all the animations I've watched of this, no one has managed to upset your place as reigning kind of animating moments that are purely petrifying.
tommys expressions are so cute in this animatic I LOVE IT
Thank you :D
Bro I never realised how adorable you drew Techno and Tommy in the beginning until now lol
I just love it whenever Techno and Dream are against each other or team up, it feels like none of the other guy in the server can compare to them, those two are just in a totally different level
3:26 lmao Tommy’s face-
Holy crap. When techno stepped in and the green chains went away, wow. That was absolutely incredible, that was so amazing, it was like, the most perfect animation to pair this scene with. I started freaking out that was so incredible. This deserves a million likes
Thank you so much!
I like these character designs most animators over detail the characters
Thank you! It's easier for me to draw the characters over and over again if they're not too detailed.
Not that I dont love detailed character designs, haha.
:)
I like how Techno and Dream ask 'How's it going?' At the same time.
2:57 The sentence "The adults are speaking"
Therapist smugTommy can't hurt smug Tommy: 3:27
Omg I love how short Tommy is in this lol
The more I draw him the shorter he gets lmao

“Don’t ask questions, Tommy. The adults are speaking.”
IM DEAD
1:57 *tommy does epic moment* Techno: "Oooo dang"
I do love seeing techno and dream as equals in power, it makes them both more intimidating
Yea, technoblade isn't a manipulator for sure, but he has definitely read "The art of War" by mozart
something that i just realised/thought about. when Dream said "tommy umma need you to come with me" what-what was he going to do to tommy?
Dream has a house now: it's called Pandora's vault.
Love how this is a scary moment and then there is 3:20
The expressions here are amazing!!!!
Honestly one of the things I always think about "what if dream cashed in the favor?"
Thank you so much!
Honestly same, I wonder how things would've happened differently, or not at all!
I love how the one thing that can get Dream riled up is Techno implying he is homeless 😂
FUCK I LOVE THE PART WITH THE STRINGS AND THE HEARTBEAT AND THE BLACK SCREEN AND THE SMILE BEHIND AND AAAAAAAAAA
Eee thank you, I'm so glad you like it!!
Tommy in that "The adults are speaking" part lookin' like he asking if they got games on their phones
3:06 - well.. He called Techno for help but none responded, so can't say Dream has anything on Blade
I made this before that stream lmao
Can you guys imagine when dream finally calls in that favor it’s just “Take all your canon lives Techno.”
* *chills* *
Yikesssss
And then he f*cking goes and betray techno like wtf dude
Tommy needs to get his priorities straight lmao

It lowkey still upsets me how loyal techno was to tommy and then how tommy went on and BETRAYED HIM at the DROP OF A HAT.

I love this for the fact that me and my friend are doing an SMP, so I'm starting to watch Dream SMP so I can learn and god knows these two will teach many. Thank you, Dream, and you too Technoblade.
“You know what dream, I think your scared of me.”
*big brother noises*
That was so good and dreams threads of obedience was such a nice touch
Thanks, I'm glad you like it
2:53 that triggered so much trauma i-
I just love Technos "Oooos" and "Oops" in the background
In the background techno be like- “OooooooOoooOooo..”
“I think your scared of me”
AH SH*T
I even felt scared cause I knew what dream can do
I feel like dream and techno have a mutual respect and somewhat fear of each other, because they know that the other is the only one that can kill them. By themselves atleast
I wouldn't say 'fear' per say, but I definitely agree with you!
Istg the acting these people do gives me the freaking cHILLS every time
This animatic is so well made (I love the blooper at the end)

I love how Techno still worries about Dream following them through the portal after insulting him.
