I should've thought of this before, but it was pointed out to me that the white noise sound could be painful for some, so I've put a content warning. Sorry about that, I'll be more careful with my future projects when including this kind of sound.

Techno is a gem I love him
It's very in character to be grim and dark and serious, and then completely light up at the idea of violence and mass destruction.
honestly I love the switching back and forth, cause he plays someone who is both jovial and unstable, a wildcard that isn't just some random greifer or spasmatic coin-flipper, but instead someone who carefully plans out the most chaotic result using order, while joking about it all the way.
good example: "I will turn this into a wasteland and ensure no-one takes power again!"
"but won't that just make you a new form of governing power?"
"the ends justify the means"
This isn't just random babble, it's techno's whole shtick: chaos attained by order.
I like how techno just always cuts giant war streams and heavy lore with just him being himself

The green lines are there to represent the power dream has over that person. That's way Tobbo and tommy are covered on lines and techno only has one(and which is from the favor he owes dream)

He kicked dreams ass once, he'll do it again
Id say Techno is like the uncontrollable factor in Dream's plans. So he tries to diverge events into Techno helping him.
The only control over Techno is the favor techno owes Dream other than that he has no control over Techno
I like to think that Techno is the only one that Dream can't fully control but can push him to do something for him but only if it's benefits Techno. The only thing that stands before Dream (A guy with OP powers in Dream SMP ) is Techno (A guy with OP skills). Both of which can destroy the world if they wish to do so.

But seriously, the way Techno acts and how they hold each other is spot-on. My favorite example of this is easily when Ranboo grabs Techno. He obviously can't actually stop him, but it portrays the emotions perfectly.

But then again, he also wasn't? They obviously have Sentimental Value to Tommy which is why he's so attached to them, telling Tommy that the discs aren't worth anything wasn't really the best move.
I think their worth is tied to their sentimental value. They represent opposition to dream- like l’manburg was.
@@starling1742 Tommy doesn't have much of a leg to stand on. Tubbo said "the discs don't mean anything" and Tommy took it as "if nothing has any value" which is... a big leap in logic to say the least. Tubbo values L'manburg, obviously, or else he wouldn't have exiled Tommy. Just because Tubbo doesn't value the same things Tommy does, doesn't mean he doesn't value anything at all. And let's be real, the only reason the discs are so valuable is because Tommy cares about them so much. If he let them go (the same way Dream let go of Spirit) they would lose all value.
I would've always loved for Techno to say that very quote : "Looks like the racoon I found under my house was in fact a rat"

I actually agree with Tubbo entirely when he said all of that. Tommy _was_ being selfish by thinking of his discs over his nation and the welfare of his friends.
Oh absolutely. That's tommy's arc, trying to not care about the discs, at least not as much. Whether he's succeeded in that or not welllllll
On one hand that's right, on the other Tubbo exiling Tommy was easily the worst move of his presidency, which says a lot when his presidency was so bad he didn't merely run the nation into the ground, but has ended up driving the nation all the way down to bedrock

I don't think that's fair to say. Tommy wasn't 'just using him', they're friendship was genuine, but Tommy was becoming something he didnt want to be and staying with Techno was gonna do that.
I don’t think that’s true. It was just a really bad situation, with Techno on one side and Tubbo on the other. Either way would mean betraying someone.
But if you really think about it Techno was becoming more of a friend to tommy than tubbo i mean Techno helped tommy,trained him,gave him supplies techno was willing to fight for Tommy he could've just left him against 30 people but instead he stepped in to defend him,tubbo exiled tommy,he couldn't even stand up to Dream for his frien
@@Grimmijaggers kinda depends on the perspective, on tommy's perspective he didn't want to be that person like you said, but on technos perspective tommy was using him for power and just went back to the person who exiled him anyway.

I like how both Techno and Tommy were like, "Ranboo?? Never, I deny that he met us." Even if the two split, Ranboo means something to both of them

this is a part that i feel gets glossed over a lot but i love that you included techno and tommy defending ranboo. techno really doesn't want to betray anyone, he only turned against tommy because he felt tommy turned against him first and UGH i could analyze these characters for hours tbh,, amaizing animatic

I like how when Tubbo says “I don’t think that’s an option anymore.” Techno looks at home with clear hatred, while when Tommy is speaking he shows concern, it really shows how much Techno really cared for Tommy.

Tommy's sudden stop at realizing what he just said, the slow rise of Techno's voice as he realizes what's about to happen, all of the flashbacks and the expressions on Ranboo's face(Can't be a c!Ranboo apologist if he's done nothing wrong *sobs*), THE REASONS TECHNO IS BLOWING UP L'MANBURG, LITERALLY EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ANIMATION-
It's a very intense scene, that's for sure

I love how you depicted the past as being hard to remember and distinguish through the high pitch beeps, and the way that the character's have changed with the passage of time (it just makes it feel more lived in)!!!

Edit: After rewatching this I noticed that 6:18 - 7:15 is the only flashback that doesn't have anything high pitched, probably meaning that Techno being betrayed by those he trusted is something that is CLEAR to everyone.

This is awesome. Not only is it super long for an animatic, I like how it stitches together multiple past moments and overlays them with the community house confrontation. I'm not sure I've seen any other animatic do that in quite the same way, with the alternating audio cut in. It's really really cool. I also like the sparse amounts of color used for impact, and the difference in color between past and present.
Also ALSO, the bits with Techno listing off when he got screwed over by L'manburg, when Dream said "are you sure?" now coming back to bite him, that sucked so bad and seeing the moments along side each other hurt worse. ;__;
There was a lot I liked about this but those were my favorite parts.

can i just say that I love the way you use flashbacks of the Tommy exile moment and parallel it the the present. It literally shows history repeating itself. The use of white noise just adds to that amazingness. Also, i love how you symbolize everyones connections to Dream with a green string, and how Tommy and Tubbo are more "controled" by Dream and thus have more strings. The art stlye is amazing, and the jumps between seriousess and Techno's commentary is awesome. Also, its 11 whole minutes of quality work. Consider me a new subscriber.

Like captain puffy said, the dream smp wouldn't be what it is today without the animators. The animators bring life into the dsmp members Minecraft role play. It is truly incredible that people can make something so outstanding out of a survival multiplayer block game.

This is so impressive! First of all, just how long it is and how well animated it is. Second, the use of combining the community house scene with the exile scene is so smart! I definitely get the white noise being hard for people; but, I love its use in the exile scenes.
