We haven't figured out how to make the helmet detonate on impact yet. We're working on head-worn explosive reactive armor as well, but it's a work in progress. - On that same note, we have since upgraded that rail adapter kit system. We still sell the older version, but the new system both locks and unlocks and is better all around. The complaint on the chin strap is a new one, we're looking into a redesign on that system based on our R and D into construction hard hats.
Overall its decent piece of kit. It does its job and the main reason I wanted a helmet was to mount my NVGs to. And seems that you guys do listen to the consumers and attempt to make changes.
That’s great to hear! Cause I just ordered one the other day. Had read a few people saying it was a game changer. And actually made them like the helmet. Thanks for letting me know. Makes me feel better, that it might actually fit much better.
I imagine that yes it probably is the Olight of helmet but in my line of work I'd rather a helmet on a bad day than no helmet on a bad day. I have rocked my HHV for years and still happy with it. I have the up-armor front plate, and some ops-core amps with unity mounts.
I think most people are just more into the gucci gear rather than buying what can work. I enjoy the expensive gear, but for normal use and just having gear to wear on the range. This is a solid buy for most. I am debating on switching the chin strap to the team Wendy ratchet strap. I like the magnetic buckle, but it’s just too bulky.
I completely disagree I have one to the rails sucks it’s more comfortable to just wear the ear pro under the helmet You might as well just get a ACH with a upgraded base plate you could get a better chin strap and pads all while being cheaper then the AHV The point of a high cut is to have the ear pro yiu sacrifice protection for that so On mine the rails were not even symmetrical, either that, or the helmet wasn’t the chin strap sucks so do the pads you would need to spend another 300 bucks on upgrades just to get it on the same level aas a Ops core ore team Wendy but it stil weights more and is made in China
Just recently bought one and as far as craftsmanship and quality I’m appalled it’s like a bad joke it looks like it was put together in a factory by a 5 year old in China.
Everyone acts as if you gotta have the top tier gear, when there are decent cheaper products. Most of the time I think people just say crap about these cheaper brands, cause they are told that ops core or team Wendy is the best. So, people tend to follow the trend and just talk. Decent helmet honestly, of course with some issues, but for what it is, it’s a good piece of gear for a fraction of the price of the higher end products.
I completely agree. People fall into the marketing trap. Just because something cost a lot does it make it better. A lot of the time most of these companies share manufacturers lol
@@stephenedwards5063 Exactly! They assume that helmet made by ops core are not manufactured in the same factory that HHV helmets are manufactured in in china haha. Most gear and clothing comes from the same manufacturers, its just branded in each companies name at different price points, dependent on populairty. I can easily purchase an ops core or team wendy, but I do not feel lesser at purchasing a cheaper helmet.

I added the team windy adjustable thing in mine and it made all the difference

My ops core sucks compared to the HHV yeah it’s more lightweight than the HHV, however the back face deformation is way more extreme than the HHV.

I’ve been looking at their new helmet and after pricing everything out it stands out due to pricing and accessibility with me being a civilian now
