The night vision stuff is most expensive but no other armor upgrade outweighs the benefit of night vision. I would also probably build a FPV plane or quad rotor as well unless someone in your group already has one. Even just an FPV monster truck can be extremely useful as it has been in SWAT. If you do have all this stuff then your next step up is to buy peripherals which involves a face mandible or face shield, and bicep and thighs. The bicep and thighs are important because junctional wounds create bleeding that a limb tourniquet wont' stop, and junctional tourniquets are expensive and even then won't always work because it relies on pinching the artery against the pelvic girdle which may be shattered. Preventing the wound is easier than dealing with it. After that the next is forearm armor. Most people don't think about it, but forearm armor is getting popular in SWAT and other RRT because your forearms cover most of your torso when aiming the gun so wounds impacting here is more common than the chest. Groin armor is also cheap but useful since the prevalence of armor means that there is a higher suggestion to aim for the pelvic girdle for a mobility stop rather than a lethal stop.

Replied to another post about this but.... Do you mean they pop off your ears easily? If so, yup, there are a few instructional videos out there but basically if you take apart the portion which mounts to the arc rail, and place a piece of shock cord under the metal prong that sits in the mount, it will prevent them from ever popping off. Conversely this means they will NEVER pop 'out' so you won't get that good air flow etc. but you'll get a consistent seal to your face every time.
It's always absurd to me that helmet setup videos never even consider the possibility of using an ACH/ECH. Not only can they be had for 1/15th the cost of high cuts, they are also what 95% of the military are issued, and 80% of units will force their guys to wear it even if they purchase their own helmet. And it's just assumed someone is gonna spend like three grand on an OpsCore. Why?
ACH, is your cookie cutter basic and cheap to use brain bucket. It’s all about cost, it cost more to keep the special guys alive cause they are better trained. Where as your basic grunt will get what they can get.
The main thing that has stopped me from buying a bunch of gear is reality. You will never be ready for it. No matter what u have. No target is standing in front of you yada yada. Don't get caught up in buying all this stuff it's not worth it. People have won against other people with lots of gear with nothing but sandals
Those were very organized people who lived their whole lives in sandals and frankly did not have anything better. You can get by with less stuff, but there is no denying that people with increased capabilities (and the knowledge of when and how to use them) will have an advantage over those who don't, when it comes to a force on force engagement. There is a big difference between staring out your fighting hole at the pitch black darkness and staring out your fighting hole with night vision on and being able to detect opposition.
@@kevinmcdowell3446 good discussion here with valid points on both sides where there must be some balance and specific items that will give that advantage like you said... esp when its been a super challenge to get neighbors off the couch to start organizing together... its laughable actually.

Check to make sure they are actually legit. Lots of fake chinese 3M mounts being sold. If they are fake all you have to do is bend the wire outward more (yes outward not inward, as the angle causes the wire at the top to hit the toggle due to how it bends). Lacking this, make sure the pads on your helmet are even. The first time you put the helmet on is most important because that settles the pads and centers it on your head. Look in a mirror and make sure your helmet is perfectly centered on your head.
Earpro matters. My best friend and constant companion named "Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" whispers at me all day every day that I should have taken better care of my ears from working in machine shops to shooting indoors...
The best chinese mount IMO is the LoSto clone. Just due to the design, it works well in keeping the mount strong. Surplus Rhino mounts were the way to go, but they are getting more scarce. The real losto is the best though, as force to overcome is just superior, especially if you have to use the other hand to manipulate the mount.
I prefer not to buy Chinese products that defraud the defense industry to be honest, particularly to suspend a 7000 dollar piece of equipment from my 1500 dollar helmet. It doesn't make sense at that point to save a few hundred by buying something from our greatest adversary. @@DaveSmith-cp5kj
I've tried a few g24 clones all at the same time... Then returned the ones that had the loosest tolerances and components. I landed on one that's basically identical to the actual Wilcox. Totally worth saving $400.
The issue with argus is they are a Chinese night vision company and make that mount to use with real night vision not cosplay on airsoft feild . So it's kinda ripping off wilcox now . I have one and a wilcox and the argus is actually better in my opinion and it has multiple slot to attach lanyards to and has no play
33:40 could also just have a carabin lock in your belt, towards the front, with two rolls of tape inside of it, one clear and one black, or just one black if it's truly just for breaching or tapping up IR chemlights or something else. It's easier to actually access, I'd reckon fondling ontop of your helmet with gloves on to find a tiny snip, that through miles of infil or otherwise transport to said "Breach" would perhaps be wet, the "snip" you're trying to reach is gone or other stuff that very much would be a problem for this method. Simply having it near your pelvic Girdle at the front at a belt is way.- WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY easier.
My only issue is: the dependence of “SureFire flashlights” to have an effective dependable light source, I feel like they are seriously boring and cheap considering price/capability. They are a weapon light. Period.. just over priced, and very ugly / limited design.
The argus mounts aren't very good. The best chinese clone mount is the Nortos losto from specprecision. I have a detailed review on the product page. That said, if you have a 3D printer, you can print your own mount and if you salt harden it you not only get a better mount but it is a lot lighter than even the real thing. Look up the WARTHOG NVD mount on printables.

Anyone have any fixes for comtacs unclicking on one side? I know he mentioned the Otto adapter, but was if anyone else had any input.
Conversely this means they will NEVER pop 'out' so you won't get that good air flow etc. but you'll get a consistent seal to your face every time.
ok but what’s the mask from the thumbnail
16:02 can anyone tell me what these arms are called. I heard auto gear arms but I can’t find them anywhere
Otto engineering arms, they do require some adjusting if you’re rocking the gibbous outfitters adaptors for things like Peltors or sordins
@@kevinmcdowell3446 good discussion here with valid points on both sides where there must be some balance and specific items that will give that advantage like you said... esp when its been a super challenge to get neighbors off the couch to start organizing together... its laughable actually.
needs ProApto Ghillie Helmet Cover
My 3m mounts for my comtacs on the right side wont stay down. Anyone have a suggestion to tune them. (Dirty civilian)

Helpful video. I gotta ask, what sort of tape is that? It doesn't look like regular 90 mph tape to me.
sometimes just gorilla tape or black duct.
A 34 minute Commercial. Tactical bro home shopping network. Just train with what you can afford. You can always strip this gear off them after SHIFT.
I hate how heavy the Army ballistic helmets were on my neck. Felt like 5-10 lbs crushing my spine and neck
People forget the downs until they try to locate their brand new shiny $7k NVGs that they lost on the last drill…!!
3:21 what kind of goggles are those
Don't even look them up there like 40k my guy 😢
The origins of the Argus G24 are not ambiguous at all. They're made in China. Do with that information what you will.
Also forgot you can 3D print a mount (WARTHOG NVD Mount) and if you salt fuse it, it is lighter than anything out on the market.
Quick note: THRYM is pronounced "theorem"
Mickey Mouse is public domain starting in 2024 so they ain’t suing ya.
11:37 fucked mee up lol
proximity chat irl is crazy
Wow useful cause SF/SOF operators customize their ballistic helmets! Thanks!
Rhino mounts are 500? Wtf i have like 800 im a tough box in my arms room lol
My only issue is: the dependence of “SureFire flashlights” to have an effective dependable light source, I feel like they are seriously boring and cheap considering price/capability. They are a weapon light. Period.. just over priced, and very ugly / limited design.
that S&S light setup costs more than my helmet
the $500 mount isn't the issue it's the $4k for a good set of dual tubes 🤣
Dual tubes are indeed a bit more expensive
Naturally, all the Argus mounts are now sold out lol
The argus mounts aren't very good. The best chinese clone mount is the Nortos losto from specprecision. I have a detailed review on the product page.
That said, if you have a 3D printer, you can print your own mount and if you salt harden it you not only get a better mount but it is a lot lighter than even the real thing. Look up the WARTHOG NVD mount on printables.
