The time it takes to be this wise and to have the willingness to do such high quality diy jet informative content is absolutely priceless 👌. Thank you guys!
I'm glad I am not the only one who runs 2 feet off the gravel bar! Great video! I have a 21' Jetcraft with a Merc short stroke 200, (2 stroke v6) . I have a 4 blade stainless impeller in my pump as well. Not that it rely makes a difference, but the factory clearance spec for the impeller is 0.030" for the aluminum and 0.015" for the stainless steel. You can take the angle from the wear ring and chuck your impeller up in a lathe to square up the edges of the impeller. Just remember to barely take any metal. Just enough to make it bright. I have also used 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper laid in the wear ring and spin the impeller by hand against it to remove little dings. I also clean up the leading edges of the impeller blades with a file on the top of the blade only at about 45 degrees, just enough to clean them up. Tuning your impeller like shown on this video make a big difference. I thought I would share some tricks I have picked up along the way. The money on gas alone is well worth the job. Thanks for the great video. I subscribed and will be checking out the rest of them.
You can use those butterfly washers over and over lol where you went wrong was you used a hammer to completely smash them flat. You don't need the hammer period! Only need the screw driver to open the butterfly washer up just enough that the nut spins free lol that way you don't weaken the crap out of it like how you did it.
Just wondering how the Yamaha compares to the same size Merc. on the top end. Had a G3 1860 dlx 90/65 Yamaha with 3/4" uhmw bottom added and did 28 mph loaded.
Just stumbled upon your channel....very good stuff. I'm currently running an 1860 Alumacraft w a 50hp Merc 4 stroke, with a 6" Micro Jacker. I'm leaning towards upgrading to a 2072 platform so I could run the 90hp prop, and then convert the lower end over to jet in late summer if needed. I'm just trying to gather up as much info as possible. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
Hello Sir......Very informative video! Question......where did you get those two handrail /lean posts? (Shaped like "T") on the bow & stern deck.? I have had 7 surgeries and they look like they would help my balance on my boat......... Thanks
Hey Jeff, that’s our patented nozzle system to turn the outboard Jet into all the capabilities of an inboard but with the serviceability of an outboard. Better steering and efficiency.
Curious about the flash. I also have a 90/65 do the 115/80s and 90/65s have the same impeller? Assuming you did this with a prop motor you would need to change the pitch of the prop is that the same with jets?

You have the only video on UA-cam on this subject here. Thank you greatly for the info..
May I add, it’s a good idea to keep a magnet in your tool kit for when you’re doing this in the field.
Awesome video!
Thanks for the help on doing this fix.Nice boat by the way.
How do we get a flash done? Very interested.
What were the updated speed numbers after the impeller install?
That is a nice layout of the boat, what is the length and width of that boat Mason?

Those tabs on those lock washers break easy.. only bend them enough to get the nut off.... I always kept extras too.

I've done the same with my 1652 running a 40hp prop and 50 jet. Favorite setup so far, will run upriver 26mph with the jet.
