If you keep a bow a long time, this bow does not feature lifetime free cables/string. I shoot a 10 year old Prime (2013 flagship), & the basic specs (35" ATA, 6.25" brace height, 340 fps, & 4.5 pounds) are about the same. I really like my current bow, & I see no reason to change. I've done 2 free sets of cables/string, & will continue to take advantage of that in the future. It's a nice perk!
Are the speed ratings IBO or ATA? The way I understand it ATA speed rating is at 70lbs, 30" Draw and 350 arrow. IBO speed rating is at 80lbs, "Max Draw" and 400 arrow. Could that be why you aren't ever seeing the speeds that are listed? Just curious.
I have their 2018 Quest Thrive bow and it shoots awesome! I bought it last year from my dealer brand new at cost - $440 +tx. It uses 82X aluminum for its riser and is virtually shock- and vibration-free. As far as bow anatomy goes, the 'rear' of the bow where the rest mounts to is actually the Face, and the 'front' of the bow where the sight mounts to is actually the Back of the bow.
I'd like to see high speed camera footage between the Ronan and RVX to see if there's any flex in the risers. Comparing the two different types of aluminum used.
Love the reviews and details, I appreciate the effort to make this process as even as possible. Vibration and FPS are basically irrelevant to me because they vary so much and aren't exactly accurate. Thanks for all your hard work
I think this is a better bow than the Darton Consequence. It is right there with the Bowtech Justice for this year. I am liking what I see with Prime, and personally, I think they are poised to take a top position with Hoyt, Bowtech, Mathews, and PSE.
Does the 6000 series aluminum get rid of the “ping” the prime bows usually have? I don’t think it’s a bad thing but they usually just sound different than other bows.
Love all the testing you do thank you ! Would like to point out during the vibration test I was watching the meter and for the last shot I noticed the max vibration recorded was when you are drawing back the bow . Might be screwing the results from bow to bow depending on how fast or slow you draw the bow back. Regardless not trying to be nit picky just interesting observation.
Removing the pic rail and the integrate rest at this price point is honestly fine in my opinion because more then likely the people looking for this price point bow are not looking to spend the extra money on an integrated rest/sight.
@novaguy9767 yes and no you have to remember that bear owns trophy ridge so they can eat the costs ... secondly I did just check the cheapest trophy ridge sight with integrate you can get is still 150$. That being said the integrate rest at 100$ isn't terrible .... I'm not saying it's not getting cheaper I'm saying that it's not quite there yes so I don't think mid range bows need the features. That being said I do like that bear is taking advantage of owning trophy ridge and putting high quality accessories on the budget bows super awesome of them.
Aside from the Bear/Trophy Ridge combo you gotta think… Most new integrated style rests are in the $200-$250 range… Most new pic mounted sights are $300-$600 .. If I’m shopping for a budget friendly bow I’m probably not going to be spending $500-$850 on those 2 accessories, so good on Prime for leaving those options off to cut down on machine time which cuts down on end costs. I looked at a Ronan at the local Prime dealer the other day, that’s a heck of a nice bow for under $1000 now days.
Wonder what it would push with the different letoff mods, we all know they test everything at the highest advantage possible. No biscuit and 70% , probably not making up 22 fps tho.
I have a Prime Black 3 that I bought slightly used a couple years ago. I like it but would like an easier to tune better. Something like this at its price would be a good option 😎🏹🦌
Then I don't think you've shot one extensively enough. Everyone has their preferences though. I own 4 Prime bows and a Bowtech and a Mathews Lift now and I am always gravitated back to my Prime
The real reality is they all shoot an arrow to where you aim if you do your part. All the top manufacturers make good bows. Just minor little personal preferences. Really can’t go wrong with any.
Thank you thank you thank god damn thank you for showing the actual measured draw length. No one does that and it is so important. Now I know to get this with 28.5 mods and not 28” as most draw a half inch long.
1 for prime on speed and a 4 for mathews on speed 🤔 mathews was off by 17fps... 🤦♂️
Yeah, he has his preference and an obvious bias for mathews but thats alright.

Yup. It's hillarious.
I respect Prime for coming out with a solid option at a lower price. That is listening to the market space and current economic conditions.
For the budget, that's a great price and Prime does make a great bow for sure!
Great job.
34" at a decent price!
Great job.. 34" is my favorite length ever.

Can you sale these online. Prime is hard to get where I live.
Another great and honest review! Thanks! Looking forward to more
As always very informative video! Have you or are you going to test the PSE Evolve DS 30?
Sounds like an amazing bow especially for the money imo!
i would love you to test the new Bowtech Justice !!

i like the riser clean and simple

FMJJ Like always brother great review.

You planning on doing a review for the RVX 34? I know it’s probably pretty similar to the 36 & 32 but id be curious about your thoughts.
Good candidate for a backup bow for sure.
Did you ever compare Atlas highline and revolt xl? I can't seem to find video
Can you get any Martin bow?
Does the 6000 series aluminum get rid of the “ping” the prime bows usually have? I don’t think it’s a bad thing but they usually just sound different than other bows.
Never had that issue with any of the 4 prime bows I own, although I do have it with the bowtech
Where in spokane you at im in central Washington area

That is pushing me towards a Hoyt Alpha X.
Nobody covered the Bowtech Justice! Definitely a comparable price point. I'm looking in vain for feedback on it.

Has Athens gotten back to you about getting you some bows to test out?
Any chance Darton will get you a consequence?

Whatttt the blacks are cake to tune what are u talking back
YEAH!!!! We have beautiful voices! 😬
For that price, I would just buy a leftover flagship bow from last year. The prime bows have never impressed me.
Me neither!

Do a reflex measure test on a Z7 Xtreme 😂
Bro I laughed so hard at this😂😂

Ronan and Irish man’s name. Happens to be what I named my son. Ronin is the samurai. Not quite the same…😂
Bow would be over 1000 afterbuilding out not really budget imo.
1 Like for the MFJJ
I’m Older primes were a way better bow imo
I wouldn’t buy that now just cause of the name. That’s probably the worst name for a bow!
why ?
