I absolutely love Prime bows, i ran thousands of arrows through my RVX this year and had zero issues. The Form hasn't disappointed me yet, and I've shot it quite a bit already! At first glance it gave a wtf moment, after shooting it it gave a very different perspective. Just shoot it!

I’d like to see you do a tuning process on each flagship bow. Showing how quick they can be tuned. How each tuning mechanism works and rate how easy or difficult it is off of that.
We've now caught up to 2004 bike frame tech.
The PSE monocoque design bows (Levitate etc) is leagues ahead heh!

Prime is a great company. Quality is great and they shoot amazing. I like that new design.
Would like to see at least 31" draw option on a 34" ATA bow, 1/4" draw length adjustments, and less reflex. And maybe actually sell the spacer tool so we can work on our own bows.
Agreed, the 34 ata got my attention but I'd be maxed out with my 30.5" DL from jump

When I lived in CDA you were my bow shop, now I’m in ND and you’re still the closest prime dealer to me according to their website! lol

I think it looks pretty dang cool. I’d almost trade my Inline 5 in for one. I’ve really liked my Prime Bow and I’m sure I’d love that one.
Went to shoot one Saturday. Brought my Revex 4 to shoot alongside the RVX+ 34 as it was my intent to get one. Shot the RVX+ 32, 34, and Form. Shot all of the Sequel ST2's. Shot the Proven, Core SS, and a SS34 just to give Bowtech another chance like I do EVERY year. The Primes felt better TO ME than the Dartons and Bowtechs. Bowtech went back on the shelf first....dont like the grip, seemed loud, had a good buzz on the shot. I liked the draw on the Sequel 33 slightly better than the Prime, but the post shot & top heaviness sent them back to the wall. They seemed to torque on the shot a little too....probably me but I gave it 30-40 shots on the 33. It came down to the RVX+34 and Form. The Form had a nice warm ride home with me that afternoon.......
It’s definitely unique and I don’t mind the design at all. Great on them for bringing something truly different.
My first thought aside from aestethics, is the future possibility of adapting that design to swap out different lengths of rods to change ATA with one bow. Have rods that can change from 28”-30”-32”-34”-36” and the option the buy specific sets of strings. You would truly have a complete hybrid bow platform and be able to optimize your bow from the blind to indoor target.
I would be interested to see how a tune holds up. You can flex that riser A TON. I shot it and it holds nice and feels good, I’m worried about it flexing weird.
I feel that if you don’t personally engineer and designs bows, you can’t call a design terrible. I think it’s cool, it’s something new which is what people are wanting.
I think without companies pushing the envelope on what is the “standard” then innovation is stifled. We are quick to forget that at one point individuals argued that the split limb was a terrible idea. I think it is an interesting take on a potentially new hybrid series of bows industry wide.

It’s a pretty cool design, I hope the attachment point carbon to aluminum holds out but if they’ve been working on it for a few years I’m thinking they tested it a ton.
Is it just me. I like to see the bow actually being drawn. Shows the personality of the cam system. Normally you show this?
I love the new design as I'm still shooting the Inline 3.
I'm surprised we haven't seen this sort of attempt at using carbon in the riser much sooner. In fact, it seems like a stepping stone to a full carbon riser, and that is the first reason i don't think it'll do well. The second reason is that conventional all aluminum risers can still be made lighter than what we are seeing in carbon offerings. This will be one of those bows that is totally fine and sells quickly once it is discontinued and discounted.

Weight and price will be big factors. If it doesn’t end up being significantly lighter than other aluminum bows and costs more then idk how that will sell. The durability of those joints is also going to be on people’s minds. We’ll see what the specs are soon…
4.4-4.6 pounds now that’s a carbon bow! lol and I agree if they asked $1700-$1800 they would of been screwed! They for sure all looked at each other when coming up with the retail price and said they would lose there fan base if they went near carbon bow prices, there would be no sales!
I would love to see you test a Genesis bow, I just took mine, replaced the arrow rest with a Hamskea, the sight with a Black Gold Duel Trac, added a peep, stab., d loop, release and swapped out the Easton 1820 arrows for GT 700 spined, getting 171 fps. I might have the first $1,000 Genesis, it is a kick to play with.
They brought out the Lincoln logs for this new design

Your reviews are great as they are.. my only wish would be that I would love to see the actual string angle measurement at the 30” setting(just for uniformity) rather than ‘load out point’. I get that load out point is a better metric to use than AtoA, but it can still have huge variance in feel with differences in brace height.

Josh, I'd like it if you draw that bow back in a drawboard to see just how much those carbon rods in the riser flex, twist, and torque.
I think it’s awesome that Prime came out with a bow with the best of both worlds. I just wished it was slightly shorter axle to axle.
This thing makes me think they'll be an adjustable ATA option in the future. Would be kinda cool to be able to shorten up a bow for ground blinds and tree stands then lengthen it for western hunts or long shots like TAC stuff.
What about string/cable lengths? Can't shorten riser without shortening everything else......

Honestly thought it was a bow with the ability to change axle to axle length at first. That would be a pretty sweet idea.
There would probably be too much play in a system like that.

I think it's a clever idea but from an engineering perspective the more connections you have (aluminium to carbon probably with a steel bolt running through middle to hold it together which can be seen) the more likely it is to come lose and fall apart.
I'm open minded on this one. Time will tell but I'm dying to try one
I like the design of the Prime Form hybrid. I think it's innovative and cool looking. Can you talk or rate the letdown of the bows you test? As in how wasy or difficult it is to let down. Not many reviews talk about how a bow lets down and that's an important factor in bow hunting. Good review as always.

I think you need to add some ratio in bow length/weight and bow length/speed points because longer bow are slower than short and have more mass

It’s obvious, from a performance perspective, bow manufacturers are running out of room to improve the compound bow.
There has literally been minimal advancement in the last 10-15 years. Bows used to weight less, sub 4 pounds. Now everyone thinks its so amazing newer bows get close to 4 pounds. And the bows still shot damn near the same speed. Im not impressed. Cant reinvent the wheel i guess
@@dfontenot93 I know everyone has been impressed with the matthew lift and x but what I've noticed is the budget bows are really improving. There's not a great reason to spend $1500 on a bow when a $300 compound works like a new flagship from 10 years ago.

For most of them, it will be with tuning. Every flagship needs cam and timing without a press and those that don't get there fast are going to be in big trouble.
@@liamboyle9199 I hunted with a 1996 Mathews Signature for 17 seasons. It's 41" ATA & weighs 3.5 pounds.
Kudos to prime for making something different. Unlike Mathews with the same bow but little upgrades... I like new designs.
Love it. People don’t like change bc it’s different. Don’t like the specs for the price.
you can literally have customizable axle to axle lengths with that bow design. the limbs, brace, etc can be the same. Just changing the length of the carbon rods allows you to have a completely different "riser".
Its cool, I'm glad it exists, I'm glad prime is trying something new, I'm definitely not interested in buying one many of the reasons listed by others.
Man, I’m so conflicted with this design. Gotta give it to Prime for coming out with something totally unique to them. Like many have already said, that riser is made up of seven different pieces and with multiple parts, comes potentially multiple issues. If anything, if they’re going to release a new bow like this, why not release a completely new cam system as well? I guess that was a little bit of a let down. Hopefully this takes off. If not, this could be the beginning of the end of prime. Seems like it was a long project that they’ve went all in on.

Looks better than the bad pics leaked on Facebook and archerytalk. Primes always hold steady and have a nice draw cycle. There grip is warm to touch compared to aluminum in single digits but i dont feel it is repeatable for me.
Please review the Expedition Archery XLite 32. It is made of an interesting new material and is as light as the PSE Mach 30. I am interested in this bow and am a lefty which sucks to buy archery equipment. Never find flagship bows in stock to try without paying for one in full in advance and am stuck with it.
Clarifying for people: your string angle will feel like a 31 or 32” bow with this bow. Their center grip thing shifts it and makes it feel like shorter ATA bows
Is the speed mod compatible with last years rvx?
Yes. The new performance mods will fit all PRIME bows equipped with CORE cams, including last year's RVX.
It’s different. But it’s growing on me. I don’t hate it like I did initially. I’ll still probably spend less money and get a bow that has on board tuning options.
What if you got a stabilizer with a bracket to hold a tuning fork? Wouldn't measure the vibration, but you would probably hear the vibration then lol
Maybe I’m just getting old. But as an avid archer of 40 years and owned so many bows in brands/models it should be embarrassing and it’s sure caused issues with the wife, but I can honestly say that I’ve truly became bored with flagship releases for a few years now. I’ll have to say that my favorites over the last 20 years have been the PSE Xforce 6 and 7, New Breed BX 32 and the Elite Energy 35 and 32. And yes those bows had issues on a mass production scale that needed to be tweaked, but all in all they worked great. Still do for me as I still own one of those three. I sold all my Mathews of late bows because I just got tired of cam bearings and having to deal with Zebra strings 😳 and the cost of all this micro technology I just don’t need for taking deer in SC. Killed well over a hundred in forty years. One at 53 yards, one at 36 and one at 28, with everything else being 25 yards and less. We don’t walk far, we’re not spot and stalk, blinds are big, stands are open and usable so super short and ultra light is just not something I need and sure not looking to spend extra on.
Riser stiffness, I will say that over the years I’ve had PSE bows that I refused to keep because you could literally watch the riser flex in press, while I’ve had Hoyt’s that would sag the harness as soon as the bow started to compress.
But this Prime Hybrid, I don’t know. Time will tell if those connections will give problems.
Great video. Sorry for my long wind on this one. But what I really want to see is what I’ve always enjoyed. Speed. I’m a 27ish inch draw and I’d prefer to see some manageable speed.
Did your rep tell you why they shifted the limb pocket? It used to be off centered and now it’s centered again.
it looks cool, but what exactly do the carbon rods accomplish?
I'm guessing help absorb vibrations and quiet the shot.
Weight reduction
The riser is nearly 50% stiffer while also being a half pound lighter. Win-win!
I personally don’t like the look but that’s just me. It looks like something I’d build in my basement. When compared RVX aluminum they did this for 0.2 pounds. Probably could have worked on machining the AL riser, limb pockets, etc to get close and not incur the cost. Something to consider for future measurements, I get measuring the bow as advertised to get a read on the company’s quality of execution. To the shooter it means little. What does the bow weigh with hunting components that the manufacturer recommends? - their quiver, their stabilizers to balance the bow, standard rest and sight used with their recommended mounting method, etc. What is the as used weight? For instance in this one you removed the dampeners, did the same for the Hoyt stubby. People aren’t going to use the products without them installed. It may be an enhancement.
As a guy that likes primes I think it’s awesome and your review of it has convinced me to at least go shoot it
It's kinda cool. You can buy carbon fiber rod like that, so that's an off the shelf part. Then change the lengths to change ATA. They can just keep machining aluminum which is, I would imagine, what their factory is set up for. Polaris has been running carbon fiber control arms glued in place for years now.
I doubt that's "off-the-shelf" carbon rob.

my concern would be if the carbon tubes get scratched or chiped they might fail..like carbon fiber driveshafts
I think Matthew’s was playing around with a similar idea a few years back… aluminum with carbon infused around the handle

Im trying to understand the technological advantage to it.. They state an increase in stiffness, but an increase off what base line? Is this now the stiffest riser design on the market? Or is it just more stiff than their older offerings.
What it has little 1mm grub screws holding it together?
Probably a good bow that will certainly punch some tags. Just wish it was faster.

MFJJ. You asked on a video for ideas for things we would like to see…Could you do a youtube showing how to determine you are following the string rotation
When tying in a peep, twisting yoke cables etc. I look from the bottom cam toward the grip to determine clockwise but I also look from the top cam and look toward the grip and determine clockwise in that direction but that seems weird.

I’m *etarded but I just pinch about 3” up from the end of the end string serving, I twist one way if it gets shorter I know that’s adding if it untwists then that way is removing….
so if I’m just gonna tie in a peep I need to press the bow and remove the string…I can’t just look down from the CAM and know which way is clockwise?
@@steveboggs2595 I was just referring to knowing whether or not you were adding a twist or removing a twist, ie twisting a cable to get cams timed… but to put a peep in you have to press the bow anyways though.
@ kool, yea I know if I’m adding a twist I turn clockwise if my string n cables have a clockwise twist.
It is really interesting, If they would put a paintjob that imitates cardbon on aluminium parts and only lims in camo would look sick :) I like the innovation and would put a 4 on the value just for the uniquness of hyrid option with such price. I would not see myself shooting that, but love that some companies try to take their own path like Mathews does with big cams and modules. Something to outstand from compatition on looks not only draw cycles and pain options.

Can't drill and tap aluminum either, or at least you shouldn't for anything that requires more torque than finger tight. It needs steel inserts the same as carbon does. Hopefully their patented carbon connection is mechanical, glue doesn't like a lifetime of vibration and aluminum expands and contracts way more than carbon at different temperatures.
In the moutain bike industry some started to make carbon tubes and some sort of lugs (Atherton s are carbon tubes and printed titanium lugs). I think this similar.

i have been to eastern and western on this state and no one tells me anything but i fel like even tho i have a bidgest blow ill sped the money to almost guarantee they i can get an elk this season
I am of the opinion if it feels right in your hand and is accurate when you shoot it. Then it’s a great bow. Myself I will stick with my prime impact for the rest of my bow hunting career, before my body forces me into a crossbow,I personally hope that never happens 🤷♂️

How can you consider the speeds accurate when they are within 10 fps but are always low. There isn’t a bow out there that sometimes shoots faster than the claim.
The part i always looked forward to most in these vids is seeing the draw cycle and now all the draw cycles are always cut short or not even shown at all….huge bummer
You know what this bow needs? It needs a Mathews UV slider on it - misery loves company. The Form and the UV slider are the two most roasted archery products so far this year. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Primes hold and shoot really well.... I know. But I'll be damned if I want to see that thing hanging in my garage. And what did they accomplish with the carbon rods? This is a 4.1lb 34" Bow. Look at Xpedition who has a 35" 3.9lb bow that's made from Magnite. Their 31" bow is 3.69lbs. Do a review on an Xpedition.
I think vertical bow technology has peaked and will be hard-pressed to go any further .
They can still be made Quiter and lighter That’s all I want in a bow besides being reliable

Personally, I like it because they put something out there that's never been done before. Similar to Mathews and the split limbs on the Lift and Phase 4, something new and innovative! Those of you who are hating it because of looks...😒 😂 Prime puts out good bows just like a lot of other manufacturers like Hoyt, Mathews, and PSE. I shoot what feels good to shoot, not something that LOOKS good to detract from terrible shooting..😂
I don't understand the Form 34, Prime has an RVX32, 34 and 36. Why not a Form 36?
This design is an example of marketing department getting an idea like in Dilbert comics. What do you gain with such "hybrid" solution replacing short pieces of your bow structure with carbon fiber tubes ? Not weight savings since Lift X weights 4.26 lb and that Prime showed 4,5 lb with the mandatory compensators due to design. Having 3 rigid objects glued together using carbon fiber springs creates nasty resonances...
This is like the no cam version of Matthew’s just getting fan boys money

I appreciate outside the box thinking but not sure they'll win any beauty contests. Looks like a DYI kit you get in the mail to make your own bow.
A lot of these comments remind me of all the love and hate the Mathews NoCam got. Some loved it, the look and forgiveness. Others hated it saying it was slow and stupid looking. I personally think primes biggest fault is being so late on their release date, most guys already picked up a bow so why shoot another to see?
-This is coming from a guy who shoots a Prime Logic CT3 but looking toward upgrading to the Mathews Lift X.
They're a company that doesn't market very well. People will go in to shops and shoot them and love them, and still buy a Mathews, Hoyt, or Bowtech. Add that along with a bow with very mixed reviews on how it looks, and I'm not expecting the Form to be a big seller this year.

Well I can tell you for 100% that they will not sent you a set of strings, but will only send your archery shop, and I believe only if they are a prime dealer a new set of strings. I know I have requested strings for a prime I have and they never came, when I asked why that was the response I got from G5 Prime.

A for effort but in the end- it does not exceed anything else in any category which is a bummer. I would still try it out if given a chance. They also had to increase their assembly costs by adding the carbon even though they were machining less.
