You're right. There are probably people that have never seen the beauty of nature. You are very blessed to be surrounded by it. When the nights stay above freezing, that's when the snow pack really starts to melt. When it freezes at night, the thaw cycle has to start all over, which could take a half of the next day.
Total Agree on comments on nature. Many do see nature as the boss sees everyday. Very few see Gods creation here in the US called the Grand Canyon and the many other beyond words natural sites in westerner. All natures sites are amazing.
People have to change their own resolution. UA-cam automatically loads the lowest resolution they can get away with unless the viewer specifies that they want a higher quality video, it actually has very little to do with the content creator. Hope this is able to help some of those who have started getting poor quality videos 👍

The "snow diamonds" are really beautiful at 2 - 3 AM, right after a storm, while walking storm patrol on a remote electric power line. At times I'd catch myself cursing having to work that particular storm duty....until I stopped and took a look at the whole picture around me. That "pausing to take in the whole picture" really opened my eyes to the stunning beauty surrounding me.
What 6 years! I feel old now. Whaaat. My brother was right once 60 then 70 is 3 days about. Ack. Puts it's eyeses out. Oh snow is going fast. Days are nice now but nights still quite cold here in Alberta. Some bare spots.
You almost made me cry, Boss. One of the last conversatiins I had with my dad before he passed away was about the "diamonds" in the trees outside and how beautiful it was. I had never seen it, so I could hardly imagine it. When I moved to where he had been living, I finally met me some nature. And I've gotta say, Boss, those trees with those sparkles just took my breath away! Now, I don't see it as you running away. More like running to! There's a different kind of wonderful everywhere you go, so why not seen it if you can? I, for one, am so excited to share your journey, and I can barely wait because I'm never gonna do or see it for myself. God bless.

We live in the country on the edge of hundreds of acres of woods. It's nice but we are in our 70's and I don't know how long we can stay here, until we die I'm hoping.

The older I get, the less 'joy' I get from a snow filled yard.... I've taken to disbursing my woodash across the driveway & yard every morning after the stove clean out. Works fantastic to really help move the melt along and all winter every sunny day it goes down a bit more, the next snowfall somehow seems less daunting, and my yard and garden is clear before anyone else's in the spring. Its dust you can't even tell, unless you really look you can see the snow is 'dirty' but those micro particles of charcoal are great at melting! This idea began the year I got 15 feet of snow- between Jan 1 and June 1st.The last storm was May 31 and it was for THREE more feet. I experienced actual so-called 'Snow Rage' when my neighbor plowed HIS snow across two lanes and dumped it at the top of my yard roadside, limiting space where I could put my driveways snow . I'm a little lady with a big driveway and I SHOVEL IT! And this ol' f***er out here with his plowtruck thinking he could bully me with his snowpile...... Haha NOPE. Not today man, and tomorrow ain't looking good for ya either. I literally almost lost my mind that day. Could feel my face was feeling really odd as I watched him so I took my phone out and took a Selfie, I was turning purple! Hahaha I marched up, opened the passenger door , looked him in the eye and told him to f off and I wouldn't leave, he kept pushing across the road and I just held the door open and walked back and forth so he couldn't go fast. so, we had words, he told me to f off & he didn'thave to listen "to the likes of me" 🙄 aka- a woman, but, he still backed off and left. And actually, the bullying pretty much stopped after that which was a bonus. ( shit neighbor, lots of years of frustration built in that moment- and then, just one snowflake too many.... haha ) Anyway, good times. 😉

The Smokey mountains were interesting but at Clingman's dome there were huge numbers of standing dead pine trees. There also was a female black bear with 3 cubs eating at a berry patch and quite a few people taking pictures up close.

Burn wood , cook my own food ,have a library ,work shop with no dept . Retired at 51 . 72 now . No medication ,never an operation , Never had a head ache . Have not been to the Doctors in 20 years ( not broken no not fix it ) . Had my numbers checked when I went on Medicare (they give you a free physical ) . Doctor said I do not know what you are doing ! But you are doing something right ! Thought he was to give me hell with his tone of voice . You may be taking the wrong time to travel . Dollar is collapsing - banks are insolvent . Hyperinflation-depression soon . You need to prepare with food and supplies for what is comming . I did the Blue Ridge Highway it's a funny story. as you know I'm from England and I ended up in America somehow travelling east Coast west Coast.. anyway in Washington DC I drove the wrong way in a sensitive area by mistake and ended up getting surrounded by police and FBI and all kinds of craziness and as they were checking me out the cop that was standing by my door to guard me we started to talk and he said while you are in America you must check out the Blue Ridge Parkway and I ended up driving the whole length of the Blue Ridge Parkway and it was an amazing amazing experience for a guy from England
I just love all the little details you both notice in nature. It's so great to live in such a way to take notice of these small things, especially in our chaotic and unstable society. These small things are actually big things that bring true enjoyment and happiness.
Well you and Lori are living my dream to have a cabin in the woods , mind you I wouldnt want to be too far in from the main road, so I could get out if need be , But I would deffinantly enjoy living amongst nature and the views and sounds of the woods Id want neighbours but not to close to hear them. I have always love being in the bush. Sounds like you and Lori have some adventures planed for the winter months nothing wrong with exploring places you have not been it keeps one young I feel. And the cabin will still be there , Hope we can all join on some of the adventures .
