I like the concept of weak-spots on vehicles, though I miss the little feature in Halo Reach, where you could shoot off the turret of a wraith and scorpion.
That was where you can show the true skill of a tank gunner. Tanks kill each other in 2 shots but blow off the turret and the 2nd shot won't be a problem. This is the difference between Mutually Assured Destruction, or one scorched tank coming out victorious.
The description of the video contains other information about the Mantises. Based off of the stats, the Hannibal mantis is better in a 1v1 scenario; however, that does not mean it is better against dominating ground infantry since it cannot lock on to them like the ONI Mantis heavy weapon (makes killing spartans very easy, even at distance). Which one is better? I'm not picking a winner because you can easily crush with both of them.
Mechs with Lasers are usually going to win an firefight (Mechwarrior/Battletech proved that first), thanks to higher firing rate, EMP Stomp can be helpful to zero out shielded foes so point defenders, other troops or an ONI Mantis, can clear them away. The ONI although can track ground infantry and no doubt has more splash damage. Hannibal Mantis is best at anti-vehicle combat. ONI Mantis is best at anti-personnel combat. Like the Hannibal and ONI Tanks, these Mantis units would work great together.
GlacierCodfish Spartans are the Greek soilders,Hannibal was a famous commander for the Greeks, and Achilles was the best warrior in the Greek army, that's why the Achilles helmet is the best one, make sense now?
Efren Udarbe That is true, but if you are moving around it is not as easy for them to shoot your hanging dong. I destroyed tanks with a mantis without getting hit by just going in and out of cover
I apologize for the late response. Anyway, Hannibal Mantis requires 29 AR bullets to break shield, ONI Mantis requires 26 AR bullets. Hannibal shield recharges slightly slower, but it's virtually unnoticeable.
Nice video. Personally, I prefer the ONI Mantis just because of its ability to lock on to ground Infantry. I find that comes in handy more than extra warhead damage, as the Mantis is more of anti-infantry than anti-vehicle, and it doesn't require that lingering effect that comes with the Hannibal.
The Hannibal's benefits far outweigh its weaknesses compared to the ONI as seen in this video, which is why the ONI ought to have its req level lowered by 1 compared to how it is presently for greater accessibility, and that the Hannibal ought to have its req level the same as what the ONI currently is at.
Every Hannibal vehicle should play dub step when it shoots it machine gun. As for the explosives like the tank, just loud ass bass drops. It would make killing people so much more satisfying because when they hear the dubstep they know EXACTLY what's coming.
The oni chain gun is useless especially at range, this alone is enough to warrant the Hannibal the win but when you factor in the much faster moving missiles with increases reload time it's a no brainer.
i don't know which is better one is designed for offense and one is designed for defense, the Hannibal is offence and ONI is defense. if i needed to defend a certain area from being attacked i'd choose the ONI, if i was attacking i'd choose Hannibal, but either way they're both pretty good.
I love Hannibal equipment, they're the best at energy tech, and imo energy tech is the future of Halo warfare, especially when there are alot more spartans and they all use energy shielding tech
I think the best mantis I choose is the is the Hannibal one cause it's got better enhancements than the oni one but the oni I gotta admit it's got explosive so it's good the Hannibal it's got plasma which it can take your shields down easily if you hit the right spots the oni it's just not my style so the Hannibal is actually my balanced one
Nice vid! Now I can "play smarter" since I know more. People say that one video can help your channel grow, I think this video really helped you cuz right now, I'm the 16,439th viewer. Keep up the good work cuz I sub! :)
Regarding the crotch shot vulnerability difference, I noticed that the Hannibal mantis was slightly closer to the scorpion than the ONI mantis (by a matter of maybe between 2 and 5 virtual meters). Perhaps this difference in distance may have affected the results of that trial? It seems like such a trivial difference between the two, especially since the Hannibal seems to have better defense in its other aspects.
I've always wondered...does the increased velocity you get from charging the missiles translate to any increase in damage, or does it just make it slightly harder for enemies to dodge?
Who else would’ve loved to see the older HRUNTING mechs in the halo games like the Mark 2 Colossus, the Mark 3[B] Cyclops Exoskeleton. I know some of the mechs are in Halo Wars but I mean in like the first person shooters. Like how the Cyclops main weapons can be switched out like in lore
Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 is arguably the most pivotal and important figure of the human race in the mid-26th century. Abducted at the age of six years old from his homeworld of Eridanus II by the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), he was conscripted into the SPARTAN-II program. The initiative was originally designed to quell human rebellion against the Unified Earth Government as the human Insurrection movement neared its tipping point. John endured harsh physical and mental training, survived the physical augmentations required by the program, and was integrated into state-of-the-art Mjolnir battle armor. He was later paired with an incredibly advanced Smart AI known as Cortana. John and Cortana were the culminations of the SPARTAN-II and MJOLNIR programs, allowing a Spartan to safely carry an extremely powerful AI into combat--an advancement that ultimately changed the course of the war. Throughout his training and early career, John emerged as a clear leader among the Spartans and was set to lead a successful UNSC campaign to stop a brewing human civil war. In reality, he became the salvation of the human race itself not once, but twice. First, in the face of an alien hegemony called the Covenant--an alien empire bent on the complete destruction of humanity in order to assure their ascendance into misguided godhood. Most recently, John defended humanity against the efforts of an ancient Forerunner called the Didact, who returned to exact his revenge against humanity for wars fought a hundred millennia before. John's early career revolved largely around his training in the SPARTAN-II program. As the program's original intent was designed to thwart human rebellion and stop a mounting civil war, many of his early missions were tailored specifically to prevent the growing insurgency. His first mission was to locate and exfiltrate Insurrectionist leader Colonel Robert Watts from the asteroid belt in the Eridanus system. Overall, the mission was a success and set the tone for John's leadership and effectiveness, an effect that carried over to the Spartan-II team he commanded. Though Spartan Blue Team has consisted of a few different members throughout its existance, its most commonly recognized roster consisted of John-117, Frederic-104, Linda-058, and Kelly-087. Blue Team became legend even amongst the Spartan-II's, due to their unprecedented involvement in arguably the most pivotal engagements of both the Insurrection and the Human-Covenant War. In 2525, John had his first engagement with the Covenant during a brief skirmish near Chi Ceti. This also marked the full integration and implementation of the Spartans and their Mjolnir armor systems. John soon became the most prominent soldier in the almost thirty-year long war with the Covenant. Most notably recognized for his actions on the Halo installations, as well as during the Covenant's sudden invasion of Earth, and the eventual destruction of the alien alliance on the remote Forerunner construct called the Ark. This act was an attempt to finally stop the galaxy-threatening parasite known as the Flood, which also effectively ended the Human-Covenant War. John's narrow escape through a collapsing slipspace portal after leaving the Ark left him and Cortana adrift in uncharted space, where they remained for nearly five years. It was at the end of this time that Cortana awakened John from cryo-stasis to confront a new and unexpected threat: an ancient Forerunner commander known as the Didact. Once again, John prevailed against all odds to save humanity, but at great cost: John's AI companion and ally, Cortana, sacrificed herself during the final confrontation.
to tell you the truth, it's a good Idea to but the Hannibal tanks or mantis for air defense and warthogs, mongooses, Oni vehicles, on the ground as well to give ground support.. Holy Shit I just thought of it... Giant Army kinda, 200 Player Arena with 100 on 1 side and another 100 on the other. with air, ground, and super units, holy shit on halo 5 ppl made halo wars bases. yup that's right halo wars with not one person Controll you but yourself, with a squad lol omfg this sounds fucking awesome
+XxGhostxX 12 Look up the game planetside 2. Basically what your asking for, but even bigger with 3000 players across 3 teams on a 10X10 km map with dozens of capturable bases.
planetside 2 is microtransaction nightmare... if you go there as a new player you are going to get rekt by people with better weapons, vehicles and everything. It would have been a good game if not for a huge grind to get good weapons or real life money to buy them.
what I think is the 2 manties on nearly three same stats but a little different. ONI focuses on the duration on the armor and high damages on explosive weaponry. Hannibal focuses on high damage weaponry and fast reloading. ONI weapons turrent- nearly like the smg damage rockets- nearly rocket warthog Hannibal weapons light turrent-beam rifle on steroids rockets-plasma caster on steroids.
Austin Stroud i like how in halo 4, the mantis stomp could kill a banshee. While it is flying. I was playing earlier and did that (dumb pilot, what idiot flies close to a mantis?)
Both mantises are good. If you are going after Spartans use the oni mantis because it's pretty good using the rockets and the chaingun is good because it takes a while to overheat and the spread is pretty good so you keep on target well. The Hannibal mantis is good for vehicles because it has a vehicle lock-on for any vehicles and the gauss repeater is good for getting accurate shots on people in mongooses, warthogs, ghosts, and tank turrets. But, that's just my opinion.
Ive seen all the ONI weapons outmatched by the hannibal series. It just kind weird considering ONI are the ones that are suppose to have the high tech and state of the art weapons

abdamit halo reach has weakeness and super glide

That was where you can show the true skill of a tank gunner. Tanks kill each other in 2 shots but blow off the turret and the 2nd shot won't be a problem. This is the difference between Mutually Assured Destruction, or one scorched tank coming out victorious.
You could do the same thing in Halo 4, it just wasn’t as easy to do as it was in Halo Reach
How?
Spartan: Sir how do we destroy the hannibal mantis
Commander: AIM FOR THE CROTCH WITH A TANK
Endgame Spartan Laser: am i a joke to you?
To conclude: tank beats everything
the memories
yup
TANK BEATS GHOST
TANK BEATS HUNTER
TANK BEATS EVERYTHING
...getting that achievement in Reach was a bitch.
Ian Partrick that guy in halo 3 was my favorite. heck yeah it beats phantom
romand271 yes
ONI’s vehicles are more like for agents like black ops Hannibal’s vehicles are more like stolen mercenary ones
though i feel like the hannibal's looks like more advanced ones like mix of UNSC with forerunner tech
Hannibal. Is experimental vehicles...is harder to see in a real battlefield... Oni are special vehicles for the best agent or Spartans...

Aozolai you have 666 subs
Oh snap!
Aozolai nice 3 more subs
Now you have 9-11 Subs.
another sub me

Some Mauser Ya
Cannon Fodder ya
Cannon Fodder sounds like titanfall tbh
Cannon Fodder go fuck with Titanfall then
I like the Greek mythology behind the Hannibal vehicles
What exactly`?
GlacierCodfish Spartans are the Greek soilders,Hannibal was a famous commander for the Greeks, and Achilles was the best warrior in the Greek army, that's why the Achilles helmet is the best one, make sense now?
Hannibal was a famous commander for the Carthaginians, who were Phoenicians. Phoenicia was in Syria, not Greece.
And Carthage was in Northern Africa.
Opaco oh woops, sorry for the mistake
Hannibal has slightly improved shields, you could of showed that.
Ausar but it takes 2 shots to the crotch to Hannibal but it takes 3 to the crotch for the ONI mantis
Efren Udarbe That is true, but if you are moving around it is not as easy for them to shoot your hanging dong. I destroyed tanks with a mantis without getting hit by just going in and out of cover
Efren Udarbe Also the Hannibal sacrifices armor for shielding.
I apologize for the late response. Anyway, Hannibal Mantis requires 29 AR bullets to break shield, ONI Mantis requires 26 AR bullets. Hannibal shield recharges slightly slower, but it's virtually unnoticeable.
Aozolai Ok then. It also takes three melee hits instead of two but like you said it's not really noticeable.
Freckles!
Either way , I still get pretty stressed out hearing a mantis stomping around when I can’t deal with them myself.

Oni Mantis:More armor,less firepower. Hannibal Mantis:Less armor,more firepower.
Oni is good for infantry.
Hannibal is good for light vehicles.
Hannibal is stronger but on I can target ground infantry. But nothing beats Sheila.
but will it blend?
Oni is for defensive perpaces and Hannibal is for offense

Halo 5's Forge is a huge step towards a Halo version of Gmod and a modernized version of Halo Custom Edition from 2002(!)
You can stomp more frequently with the Hannibal Mantis.
I feel like oni mantis is more versatile, but when the hannibal mantis is in its great situational purpose than it very much outweighs the oni one.
Dank AF music selection bruh
Also what's the lore behind the Hannible versions? Is there an in universe research devision that got good with human produced energy weapons?

Arma 3 Patrol Ops or Capture the Island.
You are definitely not a genius.
If you spam the trigger for the light weapon on the Hannibal one, you can shoot faster (but it also overheats faster) and reduce the ttk :)
ONI can be good if you know how to use correctly.
imagine if you have a mantis as a hybrid of an oni and Hannibal mantis
They should made the ONI mantis light weapon with the explosive rounds like the ONI warthog's!
I think the oni mantis would definitely win in a 1v1 with the hannibal if terrain was involved
I'm getting major mechassault vibes and I'm loving it
very nice comparison videos
what I think is the 2 manties on nearly three same stats but a little different. ONI focuses on the duration on the armor and high damages on explosive weaponry. Hannibal focuses on high damage weaponry and fast reloading.

rockets-plasma caster on steroids.

Agreed plus the guys that work for ONI a bunch of jerks anyway I mean kidnapping children that’s just not cool not cool at all am I right or what
if you tap fire with the Hannibal Mantis' s light weapon, it can shoot faster than its normal fire rate, making the ttk even faster.
Oops someone beat me to it, lol sorry ShadowedWizard
i just subed this is the first video i have seen by you
rockets and machine gun fire is more threatening than lasers if you ask me
Petition for a “Wolverine” kinda vehicle in halo 6 it’s a small fast vehicle that does a lot of damage but goes down easily
Not Isaac Newton lol wolverine is already a halo vehicle
The Hannibal lived 3 shots to because you were as fast as you could you were pausing
lo que pasa es que el hanibal es mas rapido para recargar pero con menos resistensia y el oni tiene todo lo contrario
Freckles (rvb) would kick both mantises asses at the same time
"However, the Hannibal mantis can only take two standard tank shells shots to the crotch."
You wing Hannibal
The Hannibal mantis stomp causes an emp which is cool
Austin Stroud i like how in halo 4, the mantis stomp could kill a banshee. While it is flying.
I was playing earlier and did that (dumb pilot, what idiot flies close to a mantis?)
Oni mantis would be anti infantry Hannibal mantis would be anti vehicle
I would retry test at 3:30 as you can see the shield regenning due to time in between shots being longer. Test was faulty.
Bet we wouldn't have this issue if robo cop were here
Why did I read the title as
"Caninahle vs praying mantis"?
Does anyone remember the ice skating mantis glitch from Halo 4
if we had about 10 tanks in a team and 2 Oni
Then that team would be unstoppable
Onii-chan NOOOOOO!
More like O.N.I. Chan
FalconGamer58 //FG58 Harharhar.
Crimson blitzer I'm sorry for your loss.
Hannibal designs seems to go against vehicles rather than infantry
The Hannibal also has a much faster stomp rate.
I felt like this one was short. There were more tests you could have shown.
Man,
I wish they made this when I still played Console.
Too bad I had to port to PC since well. Im not paying $500 for one good game.
Lüng halo 5 isn’t a good game.
ONI will always be my favorite cause of Halo 4
Hannibal for Firefight, Oni for regular Warzone
Both mantises are good. If you are going after Spartans use the oni mantis because it's pretty good using the rockets and the chaingun is good because it takes a while to overheat and the spread is pretty good so you keep on target well. The Hannibal mantis is good for vehicles because it has a vehicle lock-on for any vehicles and the gauss repeater is good for getting accurate shots on people in mongooses, warthogs, ghosts, and tank turrets. But, that's just my opinion.
hannibal is meant to be a counter vehicle. Oni is like for crowd control
I’ve always felt like the main auto cannon of the mantis was underpowered, 15 hits to kill would basically be the same as the MA5D.
Ive seen all the ONI weapons outmatched by the hannibal series. It just kind weird considering ONI are the ones that are suppose to have the high tech and state of the art weapons
Well dont forget you are able to charge the heavy weapon
Charging it does not help.
the thing is oni is command center not for combat
HaloODST124 Gaming nice profile picture
Bro I can say the same to you
oni is not a command center, it is the Office Of Naval Intelligence and they make the top secret shit like wasps which is part of the reap-x program and spartan lasers and railguns, they are like the cia but they have much more power and they are dicks.
They are basically the CIA.
An invisible army.
Lol wrong
Why the hell would stomping have an emp effect????
The Hannibal mantis is better in warzone according to most players and I agree even with the "crotch shot"thing
It could be that the crotch of the Hannibal mantis is it's weak point
One pretty big factor might be the fact that the heavy weaponry has much faster reload time than the Oni's, making it more powerful in terms of constant offensive threat.
I don't play Halo games, but they need to nerf the fucking Hannibal Mantis
Landen Colomer no they dont, they need to BUFF if you don't even play you can't talk

Hannibal Mantis To be honest.
Ok, so now me need a mantis that can run and jump, but has guns not as strong as a normal mantis to balance out it's insane mobility.

since when were there different variants I haven't played but I never heard about different vehicle variants
i dont have halo five so I don't know about the new vehicle's, but this one is pretty cool
I don’t care if the Hannibal mantis can’t lock on to ground infantry lasers are effective against shields
I was hoping for the Hannibal to win, I don't hate the ONI, but I like Hannibal more
I personally like Hannibal because of the range
Freckles is that you
Since when did vehicles die before the shield readout was dead?
Imagine if they made Hannibal weapons
Hannibal specializes in vehicles only.
Plus we already got a bunch of energy weapons, like the Spartan Laser and Gauss Turret.
