I think they have different play styles. The Hannibal has lower armor, higher speed, faster shields, and arcing bombs, meant for quick bombing runs. The ONI Wasp is just a beefed up Wasp and should be used accordingly.
In infinite I made the wasp be basically the f15 jet fighters from today, extremely fast with 100 rounds per second 2 mini guns, I know it's op as hell, I decreased the damage it does to vehicles by a lot to make ghosts and banshees have a chance at taking out the wasp even though their velocity is quite considerably slower otherwise the wasp shreds infantry and even chieftain ultras within seconds
@@piat4975 those actually don't differ, they have brittle_glass as the main glass multiplier in the globals section so no, what makes the dif is that the Hannibal has a increased transfer damage to the cockpit section causing you death, also the fact that the rockets are quite strong against infantry
I feel that the Hannibal wasp is better for killing infantry and land vehicles, while the ONI wasp is better at taking out the Hannibal wasp. I always feel at a disadvantage when I'm in a Hannibal wasp and the enemy is in an ONI wasp.

I think all Hannibal vehicles have much higher skill ceiling than others. Ive seen guys wreck shop in Fiesta with Hannibal Mantises and Scorpions even with all the crazy req weapons.

Aozolai I think the Hannibal wasp is better for taking bases like garages and armouries and I think oni is better for taking down Spartans and other vehicles in open areas
I say Hannibal definitely is way better, but whoever the pilot was in the showdown wasn't using it at it's maximum effectiveness. Against a banshee or another wasp, you should get closer with the Hannibal wasp and get on top/fly sort of around them/above them and use the ion field missiles. Taking out the shields of a wasp with the gauss rounds then using an ion field missile barrage at the right location will kill the driver and generally leave the wasp still alive. And it's a quick take down. It takes lot of maneuverability but Hannibal wasp is much much better.

Hannibal is not meant for prolonged combat, just long enough for a hit and run without taking hits to armour, and then wait for shields to recover to repeat the process. Plus the the way it lobs the ion bombs plus their delayed detonation is good for either setting up quick traps or attacking from behind cover (or as you've noted carpet bombing).
So if you have to give Halo 5 credit for anything, it is that the new (not old but redesigned) vehicles look amazing. Also I really want this in Halo Wars 2 to replace the Hornet for one hero.
I was kind of hoping the ONI Wasp missiles would be a bit more...special/stronger... I was also surprised that the Hannibal Wasp Gauss guns didn't have any splash damage at all. But overall great video. I think I (very slightly) prefer the ONI Wasp because that chaingun is ferocious. The sleek black heavy armor is cool too.

Yes, now i can start working on my map. Large map bigger then a warzone map where each team has 3 mantis, 2 wasps, and one tank. One team is Hannibal while the other team is Oni, as Hannibal is blue and Oni is red. RED VS BLUE :D ;) :P Also the main area i plan to have the mantis fight each other will be on a bunch of destructible pillar bridges that will go over a giant ravine and the map will take place at night during a fucking intense snow storm.

This is true, but for most air to air engagements, I do believe the ONI would be the preferred option. As far as ground attack goes, you would want the hannibal any day of the week.

I see many people complaining about the ion field bombs, I personally do believe they are good, if you treat them as longer lasting plasma grenades they work just fine, the Hannibal wasp is faster to keep up with other vehicles such as warthogs and ghost better so it can launch the field bombs ahead or directly on target. Also for the aerial showdown between the two wasps the Hannibal isn't at as much of a disadvantage as it feels, if you simply get closer to your target you can stick the bombs since the hannibal like previously mentioned is faster the Oni can't escape.
ONI Wasp is an up-armored version of the standard UNSC Wasp with a better machine gun where the Hannibal Wasp is a product developed by private military.
This actually looks like neat balancing. The Oni has homing projectiles but the Hannible has greater evasion and even shield strength and recharge time, not by enough to make a difference against those homing missiles but it probably would to a pistol user on the ground presented with a moving target.
I like the ONI Wasp because there is more armor, lock-on missiles, explosive rounds, and a faster rate of fire. but a downside to a faster ROF, is the overheat time is faster, so you must learn to control your fire to deal maximum damage.
Oni is a great anti air fighter and supremcy fighter, hannibal looks more like close air support bomber, i can see that the gauss guns and ion boms are ideal for straffe runs on the battle field
I've noticed a pattern with these vids you often show the kill time for vehicles when you fire trhe weapon until it over heats and has to cool down wouldn't it be quicker for most of them to fire in shorter burst to avoid the CD?.
Seems one is better for each situation. I would rather have the Hannibal Wasp for firefight because of its more powerful cannon and the spread of damage from its grenades, but in normal warzone it's hard to argue with the machine gun/upgraded missiles combo for killing spartans
So what's the deal with Hannibal and ONI? Hannibal's more about high speed, high damage, and low armor, while ONI is more about...I guess just being a somewhat better version of the base vehicle?
The Hannibal's better shields(unfortunately weaker body, but ya know, gotta balance), quicker build, and spread-shot close-drop bombs... It's more akin to a bomber class vehicle, swoop in quick and low, drop the payload and get out. I like the Hannibal a bit more, but overall they're both pretty cool.
I would prefer the Hannibal wasp for ground troops as you can see the grenades it sends out and it hits the ground, but the Oni wasp it can lock onto ground and air vehicles.

Wish H5 was able to make more use out of this crazy sandbox. There should've been more playlists with these variations. They don't really seem to fit H5 as well, it's hard to place but something about it feels off because of how hyperlethal and mobile everything is. By no means would I want these to bleed over into every aspect of a halo game but it's a cool idea that deserves more than a mode like warzone and the REQ system. It'd be nice to have a BTB Heavies with normal vehicles but also another Heavies with variations. I know they're in some modes but stuff like Fiesta doesn't do it justice.
You know the hannibal can fire the repeaters before the whole charge is up, like the railgun. Once the outer circle has reached the inner one you can fire. I think that might have an effect on a lot of your data here
Yes, you are correct. However, I prefer holding the charge to better aim the gauss repeaters, at least at the distances I showed in this video. Anyway, only the time-to-kill would be slightly decreased by not holding to full charge. More or less, it depends on how well the player can aim and their preference.
It's a tie, now here's my version The Oni wasp is the regular version of the wasp but cools down very fast, and it's really easy to destroy, also is not that fast The Hannibal wasp is unique, it doesn't have rockets or a rapid fire rate, but it does have a very strong Lasers or what ever they are and they have a fast cool down, the bombs it fires kills anyone that it impacts on, but it doesn't go off if it didn't hit anyone So if you want to know what is the best wasp ( my opinion ) is the Hannibal Wasp If you have anything g to say, well say it, I have my ears open

I seriously think they should put the falcon with and without the front turret and wuth the grenade launcher turrets on the side and maybe even a hannibal and ONI one where the hannaibal has a gauss front turret and the gauss turrets on the side and for the ONI the side guns have explosive ammo and the front gun shoots full auto instead of a 5 round burst and also they can passengers riding it. like if you or try and show this to big channels and maybe 343 will listen
In my opinion, the Morph scope is too high of a req level. By choosing Morph scope AR's, BR's, DMR's etc., you are passing up weapon attachments (long barrel, laser targeter, etc.) that actually improve your weapon. Not worth it for me, except to mess around with.
Hannibal for all vehicles, but ONI is better for air fights because the Hannibal grenades are harder to hit with but if you know how to aim then the ONI wasp is dead.

The way I see it: - ONI Wasp: General purpose, straight upgrade to normal Wasp, decent against infantry and all vehicle types. - Hannibal Wasp: Absolutely destroys infantry, good against ground vehicles, high survivability due to increased shield recharge and movement speed, falls a bit short against air vehicles.
Although this video is a bit dated, I'm gonna put my 2 cents in. I feel like the hannibal wasp is better for ground targets while the ONI wasp is better for dogfighting

Both of them are very good and fun vehicles to use and very effective but the only problem is that they are too overpowered for early in game so maybe 343 should ramp the energy price of the oni wasp from 4 to 5 and the Hannibal wasp from 5 to 7, it's just that since they being added to the game I been loosing more games than winning and me using a phaeton hellios ended up getting out gunned by 2 oni wasps and 1 Hannibal wasp is just stupid but yet again I see why they added the anti air wraith to kinda counter measure that issue but still they need to ramp up the prices a lot
I believe a slight error. The Ion Bombs will concentrate on a red reticled target. Blue reticle = wide spread Red reticle = tight spread Otherwise, thanks for doing the science.
It's to "ping" your location to teammates. If you press up on d-pad, your service tag will blink yellow with an arrow on top of your spartan. It helps to quickly show teammates where you are at on the map without you having to explain or them searching for your name/service tag.
The Hannibal is probably better for infantry because of the plasma bombs which does lots of splash. Also if the Hannibal pilot is good at dodging missiles then the Hannibal will usually win

Machine guns can handle infantry and are ready immediately. Hannibal: Anti-Infantry Better for cutting down a spartan or covering an area with its carpet time attack, more reliable kills against Spartans, but lacks a vehicle to vehicle heavy hitter. Cannons are good but can be outgunned.

If you can close the gap and get above Hannibal, you can bomb run oni and it only takes average 2 bursts after to take the win.
Yeah, the direct fire of all of the oni weapons do better against smaller enemies like wasps or banshees

I feel like the Hannibal wasp is anti infantry and the Oni wasp is generally geared towards being an anti vehicle vehicle.
I see many people complaining about the ion field bombs, I personally do believe they are good, if you treat them as longer lasting plasma grenades they work just fine, the Hannibal wasp is faster to keep up with other vehicles such as warthogs and ghost better so it can launch the field bombs ahead or directly on target.
Also for the aerial showdown between the two wasps the Hannibal isn't at as much of a disadvantage as it feels, if you simply get closer to your target you can stick the bombs since the hannibal like previously mentioned is faster the Oni can't escape.

Always found that the low muzzle velocity of the ONI wasp make's it's HEDP rounds pretty redundant.

Hannibal has stronger shields with better shield recovery but less armor. Oni is reversed

I got a bright idea:
ONI and Hannibal working together, using their strengths to make mega war machines.
ONI Wasp is an up-armored version of the standard UNSC Wasp with a better machine gun where the Hannibal Wasp is a product developed by private military.
This actually looks like neat balancing. The Oni has homing projectiles but the Hannible has greater evasion and even shield strength and recharge time, not by enough to make a difference against those homing missiles but it probably would to a pistol user on the ground presented with a moving target.

I like the ONI Wasp because there is more armor, lock-on missiles, explosive rounds, and a faster rate of fire. but a downside to a faster ROF, is the overheat time is faster, so you must learn to control your fire to deal maximum damage.
I think hte Hannabal is meant for surface targets while the Oni, still having some anti ground potential, the Oni is more for air to air
What separates a Hannible Masquito from a Banshi? Hovering in place? Better armor on the Banshi? Maybe second weapon type.

Oni is a great anti air fighter and supremcy fighter, hannibal looks more like close air support bomber, i can see that the gauss guns and ion boms are ideal for straffe runs on the battle field

I've noticed a pattern with these vids you often show the kill time for vehicles when you fire trhe weapon until it over heats and has to cool down wouldn't it be quicker for most of them to fire in shorter burst to avoid the CD?.
Seems one is better for each situation. I would rather have the Hannibal Wasp for firefight because of its more powerful cannon and the spread of damage from its grenades, but in normal warzone it's hard to argue with the machine gun/upgraded missiles combo for killing spartans
So what's the deal with Hannibal and ONI? Hannibal's more about high speed, high damage, and low armor, while ONI is more about...I guess just being a somewhat better version of the base vehicle?
One thing I dislike about the oni wasp is how slow the projectiles for the turret gun is

The Hannibal's better shields(unfortunately weaker body, but ya know, gotta balance), quicker build, and spread-shot close-drop bombs... It's more akin to a bomber class vehicle, swoop in quick and low, drop the payload and get out. I like the Hannibal a bit more, but overall they're both pretty cool.

I would prefer the Hannibal wasp for ground troops as you can see the grenades it sends out and it hits the ground, but the Oni wasp it can lock onto ground and air vehicles.
dude weld them together thus making a prefab but hannibal wasp will be the one to fly and shoot while oni will not be the to move because its gonna be turret and missile on the back
Wish H5 was able to make more use out of this crazy sandbox. There should've been more playlists with these variations. They don't really seem to fit H5 as well, it's hard to place but something about it feels off because of how hyperlethal and mobile everything is. By no means would I want these to bleed over into every aspect of a halo game but it's a cool idea that deserves more than a mode like warzone and the REQ system. It'd be nice to have a BTB Heavies with normal vehicles but also another Heavies with variations. I know they're in some modes but stuff like Fiesta doesn't do it justice.
Hey Aozolai, have you thought about doing an analysis vid on grenade based weapons/ vehicles?
You know the hannibal can fire the repeaters before the whole charge is up, like the railgun. Once the outer circle has reached the inner one you can fire. I think that might have an effect on a lot of your data here
Yes, you are correct. However, I prefer holding the charge to better aim the gauss repeaters, at least at the distances I showed in this video. Anyway, only the time-to-kill would be slightly decreased by not holding to full charge. More or less, it depends on how well the player can aim and their preference.
It's a tie, now here's my version
The Oni wasp is the regular version of the wasp but cools down very fast, and it's really easy to destroy, also is not that fast
The Hannibal wasp is unique, it doesn't have rockets or a rapid fire rate, but it does have a very strong Lasers or what ever they are and they have a fast cool down, the bombs it fires kills anyone that it impacts on, but it doesn't go off if it didn't hit anyone
So if you want to know what is the best wasp ( my opinion ) is the Hannibal Wasp

I seriously think they should put the falcon with and without the front turret and wuth the grenade launcher turrets on the side and maybe even a hannibal and ONI one where the hannaibal has a gauss front turret and the gauss turrets on the side and for the ONI the side guns have explosive ammo and the front gun shoots full auto instead of a 5 round burst and also they can passengers riding it. like if you or try and show this to big channels and maybe 343 will listen

In my opinion, the Morph scope is too high of a req level. By choosing Morph scope AR's, BR's, DMR's etc., you are passing up weapon attachments (long barrel, laser targeter, etc.) that actually improve your weapon. Not worth it for me, except to mess around with.
The ONI wasp is a similar version to the regular wasp. Just a ONI version.
Hannibal for all vehicles, but ONI is better for air fights because the Hannibal grenades are harder to hit with but if you know how to aim then the ONI wasp is dead.

Also just a thing about the speed of the wasps. The ONI one has more armour so it's slower
The way I see it:
- ONI Wasp: General purpose, straight upgrade to normal Wasp, decent against infantry and all vehicle types.
- Hannibal Wasp: Absolutely destroys infantry, good against ground vehicles, high survivability due to increased shield recharge and movement speed, falls a bit short against air vehicles.
I like the ONI wasp better cuz it's black and black is a stealth color and another reason I like the ONI wasp is because the red wind screen
My favorite is the ONI because the bullet speed.And less reload time

I like the oni wasp just cuz it has explosive chain gun bullets and I have a weird upsesshon with explosive bullets
Both of them are very good and fun vehicles to use and very effective but the only problem is that they are too overpowered for early in game so maybe 343 should ramp the energy price of the oni wasp from 4 to 5 and the Hannibal wasp from 5 to 7, it's just that since they being added to the game I been loosing more games than winning and me using a phaeton hellios ended up getting out gunned by 2 oni wasps and 1 Hannibal wasp is just stupid but yet again I see why they added the anti air wraith to kinda counter measure that issue but still they need to ramp up the prices a lot
imagine if the hannibal wasps ion bombs acted like countermasures to missile lockons

Blue reticle = wide spread
Red reticle = tight spread

The ONI Wasp has more of an anti-vehicle role and Hannibal is anti-infantry. Both can be devastating in the right hands.
hey i gotta in idea, can u guys explian the beacon it happens when u push up on the d-pad but i dont know what its used for
It's to "ping" your location to teammates. If you press up on d-pad, your service tag will blink yellow with an arrow on top of your spartan. It helps to quickly show teammates where you are at on the map without you having to explain or them searching for your name/service tag.

The Hannibal is probably better for infantry because of the plasma bombs which does lots of splash. Also if the Hannibal pilot is good at dodging missiles then the Hannibal will usually win
ONI is for fighting other people/vehicles. Like a dogfight.
Hannibal is for base defense, surprise attack, bombing people.
i wish that one of then had gauss cannons instead of missiles

Oni: Anti-Vehicle Use
It's a req point cheaper, can maintain a safe distance and hit with rockets that lock on. More reliable hits against an enemy vehicle. Machine guns can handle infantry and are ready immediately.
Hannibal: Anti-Infantry
Better for cutting down a spartan or covering an area with its carpet time attack, more reliable kills against Spartans, but lacks a vehicle to vehicle heavy hitter. Cannons are good but can be outgunned.
those ion bombs are great for vehicles hell i shredded mythic hunters with the hanibal
