I own a 2010 Evo X FQ-330. and i gotta say the AYC System is amazing and makes the car feel like nothing else i've ever owned... when it works, theyre notorious for failing. In the UK Sti's are everywhere but Evo's i've only seen 2 others in my area. Yes there isnt many of us, but everyone i know wants one
For me, it’s the Evo which is funny because I leaned towards the STI when younger. Evos are just a lot more hardcore and that’s what you want from rally spec cars.
owned a 14 STI, rod bearing, under steer, mini van steering rank ratio. hated all those. love the transmission. traded it in for a 13 Evo, hated the highway gearing. thats all. love the handling, one of the best handling car i owned.
Alex you nailed it the STIs greatest strength is its refinement. That's coming from an Evo owner. Having had a 2.5 Subaru that could do as much as my old 2. I'm glad that Subaru went back to the 2litre boxer.
I personally will always prefer Subaru. I love the brand, named my dog Subie, fly my Subaru rally flag in my living room, and even work at Subaru. But anyone worth their salt KNOWS without the Evo, the STI wouldn't exist. The Evo really forced Subaru to innovate. It's because of Evo we have the STI we know now. They're both incredible machines with their pros and cons. I think if you want an Evo you're choosing to keep legacy of Mitsubishi alive. That I think deserves commendation. But that's my personal opinion.
The Evo in my opinion aged well and looks way more sexier and intimidating than the STI u see driving everywhere. Just ask that cop that was eyeballing u as u were driving 😋
Wow, seeing this video made me notice so many details the Evo has that I never saw before. The line that goes from the top of the vent and slowly fades out to the rear door handle. The boxy rear fenders. Its beautiful.
Drive the Evo X every day. Feels so great Man, it's hard to swallow how Alex didn't touch on how Subaru copied Mitsubishi's homework, switched a few words but still ended up with an Evo copy. Once the evo's production ended, Subaru lost their way. Evo looks way better than the STI. You can copy Mayweather's style but you can make it work like Mayweather. by the way, I own both.

Subaru overall better car unless you have money for 2 cars then buy both!
It is obvious, the newer STI is the better car. It’s equipped with modern everything compared to the older Evo X. The newer STI gets better MPG’s, more spacious interior and more. I think most Evo and STI owners know this. However, the reason I like the Evo better is because of appearance, style, heritage and in my opinion makes a better race car. Although they both handle well, I prefer the Evo’s ACD to the STI’s DCCD. I prefer a six-speed manual to a 5 speed, but the aggressive gearing of the Evo’s 5-speed makes it more desirable to me. I mean, Mitsubishi introduced AYC on the Evo 4 back in 96, how cool was that? Now different people will have different opinions, what may be an advantage to the STI owner may not be of any concern to an Evo owner. For example, who cares about limited trunk space or bad fuel economy when the primary purpose was to have a cool fast car as well as having another car designated as your daily. The Evo was once described as being only wheels and tires away from being a full bred rally car, sometimes, that’s exactly what certain people want.
I might be the odd ball, but get in a EVO in MR with the s-sport on, the clutch response with how fast you can go throw them will put a smile on your face. Try going faster than 30mph to really enjoy any of these...
I own a 2014 sti limited and with that being said when you compare a 2014 evo 10 to my car the interior isn't much different. Evo still has is a little dated compared to my STI but not as much compared to that 17 STI. I love both platforms and have the equal amount of respect for both. I wanted an EVO but got a deal on my car that I couldn't pass up. EVO motors are a lot more reliable than my EJ25 thats for sure though but as a daily I'd take my STI but for a fun play car EVO all day

You want a car that performs and gaps majority of the subies get an Evo.
I don’t understand why there has to be such animosity from one car owner to the next. It doesn’t make any sense to me. You have your build and I have mine. You like what you like and I like what I like. The only commonality is we both love building our rides, let’s come together and stop condemning and gatekeeping. 🙏🏻❤️🏎
I need to disagree about the EVO needing a big wang on it. I love the clean no spoiler look of the EVO. To each their own though. We build our cars for ourselves, not for someone else.
Memories of Evo's in video games, movies, Jackie Chan's evo's, riding in my friend's Evo 9 on Sundays to and from church, firmly believing the Evo X to be the best looking sedan I have ever seen in my life, emotions dictated I buy one after getting my first real job. When I drive it, its nostalgic, its happiness, I just forget all the bad stuff in life, I feel like I'm driving a supercar in disguise
3:56 "Especially considering how much these cars depriciate over time" Man, ARE YOU HIGH! STI'S (I am sure for EVOs too) RETAIN THEIR VALUE. I already have $8,000.00 equity on my 2017 STI and I have owned it for two years. Dumbest thing I heard someone say. It is ok though, you don't understand.
@@jeremyhamilton387 When I graduated High School my Father helped me buy a Brand New Pontiac Sunfire. After owning it for 3 or four years I got in a small wreck. Lol, I’m glad someone saw that. These guys don’t know what they’re talking about sometimes. The sad thing is that this misinformation gets spread across the internet. @@builtvisions ANY engine, Built by someone who researched and planned accordingly or done by a professional will be a solid engine. I love the guys at Donut, but you guys did the Evo VS STI comparison far better, especially because you didn’t say one wins over the other; you left it to the viewers to decide for themselves. ✊
Ive ridden in both, my 18 STI gives me that "look good, feel good, fun factor" not to mention, the STI is one of the best sounding cars with an exhaust. I have nothing against the EVO, seems decent as well
Biased af And to save you time Comparing a 3 years difference in between a 2017 Subaru n a 2014 evo x the fact u can even still compare the two shows the Evo just as good as u can get
Ive owned an Evo IX and three STI's including my current 2020 Series White STI. Both are insanely fun, I like the STIs because they continue to get new technology, and I just love boxer rumble. Both are wicked fast amazing tuning platforms.
I'm biased but here you go.. The EVO's engineering and design is better than the STI. EVO is easier to work on with most obvious being the engine layout being a transversely mounted straight four with a FMIC, as opposed to the flat four with TMIC.. EVO makes more power and will last longer before requiring that engine overhaul considering you keep up with maintenance.. EVO (GSRs) can handle more power with their beefy stock components.. STI really just tries to copy the EVO in so many ways, because even it knows the EVO is better (deep down, it knows).. Speaking of, now that your STIs take the EVO bolt pattern wheels on their hubs, maybe one of you STI bois want to buy my stock EVO wheels off me?? LMAO, EVO all day! I still don't hate y'all STIers though. But, we don't chunk deuces either lol.
I would love an evo i really had planned on getting one for a long time. Now that im in the position i can own a sports car the ones available used near me , just arent all that well kept . Finding an evo in healthy shape not butchered is the same premium i paid for a 16' sti by the end of it. disappointing untouched but some simple stuff really makes it a blast to drive. Both of them impress me and probably always will.

Never owned either , always been a SVT/ST lover but growing up i always wanted the Evo.
This Evo looks fuccin mint
I don’t understand why there has to be such animosity from one car owner to the next. It doesn’t make any sense to me. You have your build and I have mine. You like what you like and I like what I like. The only commonality is we both love building our rides, let’s come together and stop condemning and gatekeeping. 🙏🏻❤️🏎
I need to disagree about the EVO needing a big wang on it. I love the clean no spoiler look of the EVO. To each their own though. We build our cars for ourselves, not for someone else.
In short the STI is the car that makes want to drive and can be comfortable either way. The EVO will and will make you the driver.
"Ying and Yang"

there is only 1 opinon you need! mine.. because you gave me the best Enkie wheels...so
i love the show! keep it on!!!!!!!
man really good video. I feel like liking it isn't enough support but I'm already subscribed :(
hope you read this haha good stuff man
💙
Memories of Evo's in video games, movies, Jackie Chan's evo's, riding in my friend's Evo 9 on Sundays to and from church, firmly believing the Evo X to be the best looking sedan I have ever seen in my life, emotions dictated I buy one after getting my first real job. When I drive it, its nostalgic, its happiness, I just forget all the bad stuff in life, I feel like I'm driving a supercar in disguise
Mustang vs camaro
Corvette vs viper
Supra vs skyline
Golf r vs focus rs
STI vs the car they don't make anymore.
Roy Gillotti they don’t make skyline or focus rs or vipers also
He’s the best guy at fitment industries. He’s funny and just fun to watch
Idk why I like the Evo, I just like it
I love how he's being so careful and cautious with every statement he makes lmao
"Especially based on how these cars depreciate in value"
-my 06 STI
"Hold my Beer"
I have a '16 STI but would just as happily own an Evo X. Comparing the two is like bad parents who make their children compete. Just love both!
You should do fc rx7 vs mk3 supra
That one take intro is what made me watch the entire thing 🙌🏼🔥

"Especially considering how much these cars depriciate over time"
Man, ARE YOU HIGH! STI'S (I am sure for EVOs too) RETAIN THEIR VALUE. I already have $8,000.00 equity on my 2017 STI and I have owned it for two years.
Dumbest thing I heard someone say. It is ok though, you don't understand.
My Evo is 12 years old and still worth over $18k. I'd say thats not bad. Both will never really lose their worth 🤙

When I graduated High School my Father helped me buy a Brand New Pontiac Sunfire. After owning it for 3 or four years I got in a small wreck. They totaled the car and handed me a $1200 check. I paid $14k for it.
Loving my STI price retention. Having your Evo still worth almost $20k after ten years is where I want to be in 7 years. Love both the STI and EVO. Retaining Value is just one of MANY added bonuses for owning them.
Lol, I’m glad someone saw that. These guys don’t know what they’re talking about sometimes. The sad thing is that this misinformation gets spread across the internet. The same way how the misconception of the Ej engine is how they have head gasket issues and blow engines. People really need to educate themselves more 🤦🏾♂️
@@builtvisions ANY engine, Built by someone who researched and planned accordingly or done by a professional will be a solid engine. Just because you can bolt on parts and make tons of power doesn't mean you should do it. When going for high horsepower you have to address the engines weaknesses first. Upgraded internals etc.
I don't feel sorry for people who blow up their engines because they increase horsepower with no thought of doing it safely.
My dad said if I continue to do good in school, he’ll get me any car I want within a decent price range. There was a catch tho. It has to be efficient and everyday drivable. I recently found my self obsessed with rally cars and I think I’ve made my choice.
I've owned both and I stuck with the evo.
Evo for motorsports.
Sti for a daily.
This channel is still underrated.
Evo all day, I’m dug in.....and I’ll never change. Haha
STI is the luxury more daily version of a 4cyl turbo, and the Evo is more of a...I’m buying this car to make some power and to mod and they give you a greater base and less interior clutter
I own a 600 whp built STI and I absolutely love it, however I can say with complete confidence that it probably would of been easier to make equal or higher power on a EVO platform.
STI for a better daily and minor bolt on car, EVO if your building a track monster.
20:58 “… joke’s on you Nature” 😂😂
The one that goes vvvrrroooommm!
watching this 4 years later and evos going for 30-40k in my area they did not indeed depreciate 😂
lets see a bags vs static for the next episode of this series?
I love the guys at Donut, but you guys did the Evo VS STI comparison far better, especially because you didn’t say one wins over the other; you left it to the viewers to decide for themselves. ✊
I owned a 2017 STI & I love it💯 I also wouldn’t mind having the Evo X both aggressive cars💯 no hate on this 2 beast🔥
Ive ridden in both, my 18 STI gives me that "look good, feel good, fun factor" not to mention, the STI is one of the best sounding cars with an exhaust. I have nothing against the EVO, seems decent as well
Biased af
And to save you time
Comparing a 3 years difference in between a 2017 Subaru n a 2014 evo x the fact u can even still compare the two shows the Evo just as good as u can get
This^^^
Evo x team
Should compare 2016 final edition. With the same interior as the 2014.. 😂😂 to a 2016 STi.
not subaru's fault mitsubishi is a failed brand :/. ill be on the look out for the 2021 evo oh wait...
Ive owned an Evo IX and three STI's including my current 2020 Series White STI. Both are insanely fun, I like the STIs because they continue to get new technology, and I just love boxer rumble. Both are wicked fast amazing tuning platforms.
Gotta love both cars. Both are really nice to have, but Subaru’s will always have my heart. Great video btw 👍🏽
This is how wars are started. Probably one of the biggest wars in the import game.
I'm a guy who loves evo's, don't own an evo. Works at subaru, Doesn't like subaru's, Drives a mazdaspeed 6 because I can't afford an evo
Your complaining? Pffft, i have a bmw 325i, not even the tt 335i, wanna trade? 😂😂😂, fr tho I’m planning on either trading it or selling it and getting a 2008 Volvo C30, since you work at a dealership maybe you could help with my decision?
Now thats what i call a complicated love life 😂
R34 vs MK4 Supra
Also I really appreciate Fitment industries content. Thank you
