@@AK_Audi I appreciate what you're saying chap but that was a huge jump each time by the newer cars, it wasn't close to being a fair start. In a turbo charged car I'd probably aim to be a little behind so I could be fully on boost at the start point but those two just did it all far too early and then roared past before they even got to the start line. Hatch's engine started producing a "bad mecanic" noise during the second roll race (9:47). It was just a question of time/hard pull. Vicky was probably not hearing it because of louds cars around her. Downside of having a loud exhaust can make you miss hearing when something related to the engine "run" wrong. The engine seem to produce a little bit more power/torque between 5.5~6.8k rpms than the WRX STi, but she does upshifting at ~7k rpm (maybe the turbo stop producing 560 bhp after), when the WRX STi keep pulling until ~7.6k rpm (maybe the area when the engine is producing 580 bhp). Meaning why the 100-200 kph are in favor to the Hatch in this exercice, and why the WRX STi is quicker on a longer distance (better top end). For a 2009 STi Hatch transmission, between 6.9k and 7.6k rpms in 3rd gear, this is 15~20 kph difference. The Blob Eye could be even quicker without the rear wing and the huge hole/parachute in the back, where the fuel tank is originally located. Without talking about the wing, just closing the fuel tank hole will make it quicker/more stable on track. That's why the rear bumper was falling off because huge parachute effect. This video is a good proof that differents setups can make subtils differences. Even just about talking about shifting sooner (shifting in the power range is a better formulation). What that surprising me the most is the ratio power/torque for a Subaru engine. Producing more than 800nm below 600hp is a big thing. From memories if I am not wrong, the old STi with the factory short geared transmission is not reliable above 600nm. A daily tuned Subaru usually stay around 490nm. Drag Racing with a 4WD + manual transmission + dry surface + semi slick is a very bad exercice for the transmission and shafts. Outside of competition, it's better to drive non slick/semi-slicks tires while letting tires slidings a little bit. In some case, the "better is better" is not the right answer. ------- News cars with automatics gearbox have less of thoses issues because, the computers does everything. For youngers peoples born with the automatics transmission, this is the reality of manual transmission. Vicky was definitely the smooth driver, the one dude eating his lip thought he was in a rally race😂
The hatch looks the best imo also props to driver she launched hard and never missed a gear
Her car was definitely losing some power up top and then the smoke started. Those launches were on fire 🔥
I'm not gonna lie jammies intros are so sick ....the way he got to GC8 just gives you the shooz......@og battles
I'll tell you what,Vicky is ripping that hatch dang, just needs a little bit of power and a consistent car she'll take a lot of drags
This was actually super entertaining!
Vicky & Doc will be back. Well done, vicky, awesome run you had as well
Damn those gc8s are never going to go out of style. Had a chance to buy a 2 door in my early 20s and regret passing it up.to this day.
