Midwest Industries Blast Can Review on RF AR-15 Pistol

- Testing out the Midwest Industries Blast Can on my Radial Firearms AR-15 7.5" Pistol. I can definitely tell that the it made a huge difference when directing the sound and flash away from the shooter. Stood behind another shooter and the sound is directed down range well. Without ears on, the sound is still loud but bearable with minimal ear protections. Blast Can retailed for $29.99 not including shipping. Great addition to this budget build!

New York and California is in most need of this type of device because it is not a muzzle brake, flash
hider or suppressor. It’s purpose is to protect the shooter from the blast - hot gases and sound. It
would make sense that a device that will allow people to shoot more safely is nothing "evil" or "bad".
People should stop calling it a “flash can”. This creates the misunderstanding that it's another form
of a flash hider - it DOES NOT hide flash in any way. It doesn't protect against muzzle rise or recoil (it
might even create more recoil) and definitely does not suppress sound... it simply pushes hot gases
and sound forward. If we're "allowed" to continue to enjoy the sport of firearms, the safer it is, the better.
A more proper name should would be a "blast protector". Using the word “protector” should not seem
so evil for the legislators to use it against us, especially when their trying to strip our rights.
This is a Blast Protector. Thanks for your video!
1. Nobody allows me to do anything. I can do anything I want long as it doesn't harm others.
2. Instead of worrying on wording all gun owners should always try and educate those around them. In that same context all gun owners should try and be educated as much as possible on ALL ASPECTS OF GUN OWNERSHIP. That includes as many laws (even in other states), legislature they try to pass, really anything involving guns.
As soon as I get it Ca will band it
Looks good! Rocking the sightmark! I had one of those on an old pistol.
Just finished a blackout and grendel pistol and seeing how people like those flash cans/linear comps for keeping the sonic blast away from range neighbors. My blackout i was pondering the idea of using it for home defense with a flash can. Would obviously keep electronic ear muffs with the gun. Also decided on 10 o'clock for the flashlight.
Sightmark is a great budget optic. I've had zero issues with it. I feel like the blast can does the job it's supposed to do. Still loud AF though. LOL
Damn, AR 15 Pistols are LOUD! If you had to use it inside your home at night against an intruder, your ears will be ringing for days, weeks.
Yea they would. But I bet you would only have to fire it once. I would love to run a test IN the house to see what the Db level would get up to. I need to see where I can rent a Db meter that would get up to that sound range.
Correct. 223 / 556 is NOT for home defense. The audio concussion will murder your situational awareness.
@@DinoNucci I think what you use for home defense is subjective. Def know the cons of using that round though and anyone who uses it should be aware of the over penetration factor. It would kill your hearing too, but something better than nothing!
@@TitanOverland it almost isn't better than nothing. The level of dazed you will have will take you out of the game
That's what supressors are for. Seriously though a shotgun is #1 home defense for me keep bedside along with the glock 19
I just got one can’t wait to try it out !!
Let me know how it goes when you give it a go! Thanks for watching!
Just Ordered thru Primaryarms today. Was 25$ but 9$ to Ship so with Taxes was just under $40 . Gonna use on a 10.5 556 Aero M4 Pistol AR. Had a Kaw Valley Linear Comp So mostly bought this for LOOKS then Usages
Which is easier on the shooters ears, this or the kaw?
Nice build. I’m looking forward on getting that light, thanks for the recommendation!
Def! The light is great. The pressure switch...not so much. I switched mine out with a surefire endcap/pressure switch. Works like a charm for a fraction of the cost.
I have the same light. I do love it. Also I use the SI link anchor ⚓️ handstop. Something to checkout
Loving this series alot brother!!
Thanks for watching man!
Promag roller mag is a damn good magazine
That Midwest Industries blast can does work to put the sound more down range, away from the shooters ears, but AR pistols are so stupid loud and concussive that you would prob blow your windows in your house out if you used it in home defense. Way too much unburnt powder.
You are 100% correct! I’ll reach for the shotty before this one. Lol 😂
Cool.. just ordered one. Thank you
And I just sub. Appreciate the sub back.
Sweet! Let me know how it works out for you!
well howzit work. We r wait'n
I have this exact model! Following
Great video
Thanks!
I like your setup!
Thanks brother!
Just ordered me one!!!
Let me know how it goes when you try it out! Thanks for watching!
@@TitanOverland Will do will get it tomorrow! Thanks for the review!!
@@TitanOverland I received mine looks great . Does what it says it does. Definitely gives your firearm a great look!
@@roberth7399 Good stuff! Glad the review helped!
Just found your channel and subscribed
Thanks for the support!
Absent a db reading, how much noise reduction would you say it does? Hardly any reduction, small amount of reduction, medium amount of reduction?
I can definitely tell a that it throws the sound more forward than the standard A2. As far as reduction, I wouldn't say it actually reduces the overall sound. I wouldn't willingly take off ear pro and shoot it. Only time I would do that is in a real world defense situation
i got the same one but it’s not threading on to my 556
@@jettglover1187 weird. Hopefully they take of that for you
Great review bro...
Thanks man!
Nice set up, man! I have a Feyachi FL-22 on one of my builds and really like it.
I really like the light itself. I did find that the end cap for the pressure switch couldn't handle quick succession firing and would flicker. It ended up killing the contact pad in the end cap.
@@TitanOverland ooh. Crud. Mine Fl-22 has been working fine and bright. But hey, you got it for free. I run a surefire scout clone ($39) on other builds. Those hold up reaaaaaal good. Reviews on my channel. Take a peek!
Seems louder without the blast can. It works
That it does!
Nice 💯, what kinda handguard is that ? Or upper?
Its the MHR handguard from Radical Firearms.
wow what a differene between the A2 flash hider and the flash can. crazy..no wonder the people at the range get pissed off....lmao
HAHA! I've never taken it to an indoor range for that reason!
I've been shooting awhile. Wad you say. Please rent a meter & tell us the difference.
I don't have those resources in my immediate area. Sorry
To me it sounds a little better
Do you still get the flames
not all the time. but it does happen
Does it come with / do you need to use a crush washer?
It did not come with a crush washer; nor does it really need it.
@@TitanOverland ty
@@TitanOverland fyi, it comes with a crush washer now
Will this work with 9mm
This one in particular will not. But you can go to their website and see what options they have for a 9mm.
@@TitanOverland hmm because on their website it says it works for 223 and 9mm
@@asiansrule45 I stand corrected. If they say it is, then it must be so. Either way, def worth it!
My 223/556 one works with 9mm I also use mine on my stribog,I have this same exact one ,I was curious and took it off my ar15 and took a 9mm bullet and it passed threw it so I put it on my stribog and was good to go
I have one of these on my stribog. Works great
You're over gassed put a H2 buffer in that pistol
Thanks for the recommendation!! I appreciate it
How much did the point of impact change with the midwest blast can?
none, but, this build is specifically for close quarters so I dont really go passed 25 yards.
If you choose to run 223 / 556 through a 7.5" barrel, you are a potato.
Then butter me up, honey!! 😂
Why
@@bakedflamingo9213 Because it's fun and I can. LOL
@@TitanOverland that was meant for the other guy lol not you.
@@bakedflamingo9213 oh....LOL!!! my bad...alternate answer is "because I like to party!" HAHA
