    Hello doctor. I have recently completed my mbbs and plan to do my medicine training from UK. Now I understand the PLAB pathway and the procedure by which CCT+ MRCP is obtained. My question is what if I wish to return to India after 3 years of internal medicine core training. CCT+MRCP is considered equivalent to MD medicine in India. However, will I be competent enough to work in India? Will Indian hospitals hire me as a general medicine specialist? UK doesn't have many infectious diseases cases like TB, malaria and dengue which are an everyday case for indian trained MD in medicine. So, is UK training good enough to practice in India?

    • @SumanPaulDoc
      @SumanPaulDoc  Рік тому +1

      If your plan is to return to India after 3yrs IMT+MRCP then I would advise against it. You won't be skilled enough to work as a consultant in India as well as the UK. Indian corporate hospitals will employ you as a registrar/SR, definitely not a consultant.about infectious disease,when you actually enter specialist training, you will realise this is not an issue. Nowadays labs diagnose the disease and we prescribe medicines.even if you don't remember the medicines it's easy to read them up from uptodate or similar resources. Regardless MD in India is better option than retuning after MRCP

      MRCP is recognised by NMC as per ."The Third Schedule of IMC Act"- www.nmc.org.in/acts-amendments/the-third-schedule-of-imc-act/
      There is no mention of CT training or any UK training in the NMC notification.
