It makes it easier for me to think he’s just a variant of 2005/2007 Johnny rather than being THE one we followed through those two films. Also that Johnny lost to Pyro because life in The Void is a struggle and he’s not at his peak leaving it easier for Pyro to beat him.
I've seen a lot of people say that they nerfed the human torch, but as far as I can tell, Pyro is literally the perfect counter for the human torch. That said I woul've expected torch's sheer firepower to be incredibly difficult to manage. I would've thought that the two would basically lock each other into a stalemate. That's the joke I was expecting, for the two of them to be just in the background having an intense staredown but unable to actually contribute much else.
I thought it was great seeing him again but at the same time, having him go out like that was kinda jarring to me. I mean, I get it that Chris Evans costs a bunch (it makes the joke funnier, I get it) but they didn’t have to kill him. They could’ve maybe had him fly Wade and Logan out of there and then they can’t hold on cause…he’s on fire, obviously. Then, they reunite with him at the end with the rest of the great cameos. Plus, I found it odd that he was basically an R-rated Human Torch when literally the last time we saw him was in a PG rated film, not even PG-13 (12 or 15 in the UK), but PG. It was a combination of both odd and smart.
Him flying them out of there and them falling away because he burns them unintentionally would have been a great way of doing it! Then they could have stayed on their journey as a duo and he could have come back later on!
@FullFatVideos But they they wouldn't have had their costumes. We waited over 20 years to see Wolverine in a comic-accurate costume, and if the film had gotten rid of it before the big battle with the Deadpool variants, we would have raged into a riot!
The only good moment in Fant4stic is the scene after the accident when we're seeing their powers. I actually like that it was presented as outright body horror. In a different movie, that scene could have really been the linchpin behind Reed's comic book obsession with curing them. The comics have never given an adequate reason WHY Reed wants to cure them early on. After a while the powers are necessary to defend the family. Reed coming to terms with that fact, and the fact that is also his fault, could give some amazing depth to Reed if the FF manage to get more than 2 movies in.

I'm not a fan of the trope of "killing a character off in an unexpectedly-sudden way for gags". They did it with Sabretooth as well, and whenever it happens, I almost never laugh or find it interesting. It's just -- "oh, look, my expectations have been subverted". Sometimes, characters are killed off quickly and unceremoniously, but it's done in a serious manner -- look at how the mutants get killed off in the beginning of Days of Future past. Colossus gets his arm ripped off, and Bobby gets his head snapped off and crushed. These are all sudden and surprising, but it's done with some weight, to show off how dire the situation is, and how dangerous these Sentinels are. When it's done for a gag, though, it's all the "subversion" without the flavor. It's just "ahahah, Sabretooth got killed in one hit" -- and that's that. Same thing with Johnny here. I don't know the canon "rules" of everyone's powers, but I'm pretty sure that Pyro wouldn't be able to suck the fire out of Johnny like he's a tank of propane.

Although I didn't like how he died so quickly, Deadpool 'getting him killed' & the budget joke, not to mention Logan/Wolverine being angry at Deadpool about it was great, then, of course, the post-credit scene clears Deadpool's name; the BEST part of the PC scene was Evans letting his Boston Accent drop, another thing younger moviegoers typically don't know about Evans.

I actually really like him being defeated by pyro. How specific abilities interact should have presedence over raw power. I think this makes things a lot more interesting and makes people fight more tactically.
I was fine with how the Torch was treated: Evans likely wasn't cheap so I figured they weren't gonna get a lotta mileage out of his character here. It was good to see him again, but he didn't overstay his welcome. The one that I'm upset about (and that may be putting it too strongly) is Sabretooth. Sorry, but that should've been an actual fight scene and not a two-second gag. I'm fine with Wolverine winning, but, being a huge fan of the character, there absolutely should've been more to it. The worst part is that was right around the part where Johnny got beat so you had two irrelevant non-fights within minutes of each other. Honestly, I'd rather Sabretooth not have been there at all instead of what happened.
I feel it was more an attempt to poke fun at the idea of matchups. Human Torch loses to Pyro. Wolverine really really should have decapitated Sabretooth at some point, something I know I thought about after seeing their long term rivalry/hatred. It was how the matchup really should have gone, but it does put some development on Wolverine, not wanting to kill Sabretooth and presumably having chosen to not kill him. Unfortunately the one we see in the film just has no chill and Sabretooth probably had a hand in the destruction of his world's X Institute, so it was time to take the gloves off.
@@CrysJaL I can certainly see all that, but, at the same time, it just shouldn't be that easy, regardless of if Wolvie'd just had enough. As presented, it basically says that Sabretooth never should've been a match for Wolverine, which simply isn't true (despite what X-Men Origins would have us think). All told, the movie wasn't about the pair, and I was fine with Wolverine killing him (it's happened a couple times in the comics at this point). It should've just been treated as a little bit more than a redundant joke. I know that sounds weird in regards to a Deadpool movie, but still.
He was killed off purely for a joke which admittedly was funny, and it did make sense within the movie, if you put the Human Torch against Pyro, a character who’s whole gimmick is manipulating Fire, yeah Johnny Storm ain’t winning that. But then again it’s really whoever the writer says wins.
I think Johnny would create more fire than pyro could control. Like yea, he would be able to control it at first, but over time johnny just creates more and more fire until it fully engulfs pyro, then turning the heat up to supernova. Also, yea pyro can control fire, but johnny basically is fire. He basically be immune to whatever fire pyro throws at him. Just how i see it going down.
I guess my question is how do you think Pyro would be able to hurt Johnny Storm, exactly? We've never seen evidence to show that Johnny can only produce a limited amount of fire.
FINALLY! I'm SO glad someone else feels the same way about how they treated Johnny! I was honestly a bit frustrated with how they treated him and was just baffled when everyone else talked about how funny it was like yeah it was...but if you switch Johnny out for Tobey's Peter, you'd have a VERY different reaction. I'm still holding out a bit of hope that the real FF comes out in Secret Wars cause yeah this was just an unfortunate outing
“We want the actual versions of the characters we know, not just their faces” despite the fact that the Wolverine in the movie is not the one we know like at all. It should’ve been the Wolverine from the timeline that didn’t end with Logan(either original trilogy timeline or DoFP timeline)
Pedro Pascal as Reed?? I love the man but I don't really think that's the role for him. They should've actually gone back to John Krazinski even though his original Reed was for the plot (and a joke). He looked perfect as Reed!
I still think Invisible Woman is the most powerful member, even with the nova flame. Doctor Doom said it during the Mark Waid run, when the FF occupied Latveria and he took over Sue's body.
It's the other heroes in X-Men comics effect, where writers nerf/stupify the non-mutant heroes in an x-man title if they happen ti show up. It happened with cap in x-men 97, it'll keep happening.
I wouldn't say Torch was nerfed, him being beat by Pyro was bound to happen. It's not about power, it's just a matter of logic. Torch generates fire, Pyro controls fire. Simple as that. He would never win. Now, in terms of honoring the character, who deserved better than a quick death joke, yeah, they messed up on that. Just like Sabretooth, got tossed away in one shot, just pointless really. It's exactly what people didn't want. There's literally a video to pay tribute to the actors and all of their work, but the only ones getting honored really are Wesley Snipes (who wasn't even part of Fox Marvel), Jennifer Garner (which was nice), Dafne Keen (very nice) and Hugh Jackman (obviously). I honestly think they should've switched Gambit with Torch. Gambit becomes friends with Deadpool, Sabretooth knocks him out and he blows everything up to get Wolverine and Deadpool free from Cassandra. Keep Torch as the mysterious member until he shows up to help as the secret weapon against Cassandra, where Pyro still beats Torch, but one of the others knocks Pyro out. He shows up last posing staring at Deadpool and Wolverine jumping through the portal. Done. They could've done a much better job with the character, even if he was only to show up for one scene to keep it under budget. Everyone wants to see Chris back, both as Captain America AND as Human Torch, so this can't be the last we see of him.
I made this comment on the review video you did. I think it fits my excitement: I was so excited when I saw Chris Evans as Johnny Storm! I clapped and cheered. No one else didn't even cheer? I'm like the films were not that bad, gosh. I'm in my 20s, and kids who are kinda in the back behind me were so annoying. "Oh wow, that's not Cap it's that guy from the Fantastic Four wow" like without any excitement like you couldn't even get his name right lol. "That Guy," I don't get it, felt like they were just commenting even during the nice video at the end of the film. I made some shortouts When I saw Ben Grimm and the others but they couldn't shut up commenting the entire time gross. - Luke
He didn’t get nerfed. Pyro controls fire. Silver Surfer took him down with a choke and by removing his oxygen. Its both very hard and very easy to take Johnny out
@@petermj1098 The Thing could've done the same thing too, so it's not about Surfer being a cosmic tier threat (depending on continuity) but that he just happened to be resistant enough to Johnny to actually choke him out in flame form.
Are people just forgetting better is a storyline about Pyro and johnny? With the story pyro had complete control over Johnny. Johnny was literally under his control and couldn't fight back or do anything! It was thanks to Spider-Man, that Johnny was able to get control and get pyro a powerful right hook! And as far as I saw and research that was the only "fight" that they ever had
This movie is anything but a great DP film. It literally regresses and character assassinates Wade Wilson just in the first 20 mins. He also decides to get Human Torch and Nicepool killed despite them doing nothing to him and only trying to help him which is completely out of character for this version of Deadpool(yes I know it’s a “joke” but you can still have jokes that are in character).
It makes Deadpool more like his comic version. A complete bumfuck idiot asshole. He tortures both Blind Al and Weasel in the comics, you know. Him getting Johnny and Nicepool killed for selfish reasons is not out of character.
Yeah, consistency is what makes a character! Changes should only come when the character consciously makes the decision to change (and therefore told to the audience). Out of character acts for sake of comedy feels wrong
Torch was uncalled for, but Nicepool was literally just a joke of a character so it was really bound to happen, not to mention nobody cares about him. Also, how are the first 20 min a character assassination? I didn't get that part.
Funny thought, I was thinking, why can't pyro stop Deadpool guns by working by making the bullets impossible to ignite. And then I thought.... Wait pyro has never done that, how do I think pyro could do that. And then I realized i confused Pyro with some Fire Force (anime) characters for a second.... But now i wish pyro used his pyro kinisis to just stop bullets from working, that'll be such a Cool use of his powers that'll never happen.
He controls fire after it's ignited, including extinguishing it. It'd be a split second of concentration and control on par with the bigger powerwank comics, liek the one where Gambit controls all kinetic energy and is secretly a beyond Omega level Mutant, except he had a brain injury/lobotomy to stop that happening.
Fant4stic is really not that bad... for the first hour. Yes, it's a bit slow, but there's actually something there focusing on the body horror aspects of the characters and then being used by the government... but that's not really the Fantastic Four. They don't even help save a city that comes to see them as heroes, they technically save the world, but like, they're not a team. They're just four people that were working on a science experiment, and while there are connections between the characters, nothing says to me that they're really going to be a successful team in the future. The movie was severely marred during its production, but I'm not even sure Josh Trank's idea for the movie (which is mostly that first hour) was really going to be good as a Fanatastic Four movie either.
Its just a variation version for me. I dont care if they intended it to be the exact Johnny from the movies. Johnny wouldnt go out out like that. Much like how i dont think the characters in No Way Home arent the actual characters from the movies. Just variations (except the spidermen?) If you think those characters are the actual ones from the film, it completely ruins the films they are from. So yeah, hes just a variation and my Boy Is still doing his thing in his world
I don't think Downey is going to be playing Victor Von Doom. If I remember correctly, there is a comic book multiversal variant of Tony Stark that becomes Doctor Doom. Possibly due to some possession nonsense, but I do believe Downey is still mostly playing Tony Stark here.
AVI ARAD ruined a lot of Marvel movies in the early 2000s Mainly... * Daredevil (2003) * The Punisher (2004) * Elektra (2005) * Fantastic Four (2005) * X-Men: The Last Stand * Spider-Man 3 And now he's gonna ruin... * Kraven the Hunter * Venom: The Last Dance * The Legend of Zelda * Naruto As long Arad lives, there's no hope
In The Punisher, during the scene where the mob is killing Frank's family, there's a salad that gets shot and 5 seconds later the salad is fine. I think about that continuity error every time someone mentions the movie.

I guess my question is how do you think Pyro would be able to hurt Johnny Storm, exactly? We've never seen evidence to show that Johnny can only produce a limited amount of fire.
The joke wasn't really that funny.
@@FullFatVideos pyros beaten torch in the.comics
I didnt even know this was cow man because the cow is gone 😢😭
But the name is the same!
Bro if they didn’t nerf most of these characters there wouldn’t movies 😂
I really hope we finally get a faithful FF movie. I liked 2000's films for what they were but they didnt feel like the true FF movies we deserved.
Bro they didn’t need him…he just happened to fight the one character that is a direct counter to him
Deadpool and Wolverine is NOT Deadpool 3, they've explicitly said as much.
Do you take titles so literally
To be fair, Johnny wasn't begging for his life; he was denying damning accusations.
He knew what was coming though
When people say Ryan Reynolds is the only person who could play Deadpool I always bring up Sean William Scott. Dude would kill it.
David Tennent as Reed Richards and Cilian Murphy as dr doom! How dare they not use my fan casting!!!
Cillian Murphy for Doom could still happen. Since RDJ Doom isn’t gonna be from the main MCU universe.
I don't think we needed a video about this tbh, but go off king
We did
I’m praying that the Johnny Storm in D&W is a variant, because I wanna see the original Fantastic Four return.
Pedro Pascal as Reed?? I love the man but I don't really think that's the role for him. They should've actually gone back to John Krazinski even though his original Reed was for the plot (and a joke). He looked perfect as Reed!
The new fantastic 4 casting - Invisible woman casting GOOD - the rest NOT SO GOOD
6:13 If the new film can't get this banter right, it's toasted.
People take this movie too seriously, it’s a comedy
Dont sweat it i don't think its the same johnny at all. I think they went out of their way to make him visually clearly a different johnny
I still think Invisible Woman is the most powerful member, even with the nova flame. Doctor Doom said it during the Mark Waid run, when the FF occupied Latveria and he took over Sue's body.
The point is he controls fire, Johnny is fire
It's the other heroes in X-Men comics effect, where writers nerf/stupify the non-mutant heroes in an x-man title if they happen ti show up. It happened with cap in x-men 97, it'll keep happening.
I think the most bothersome part is DP&W is supposed to be a love letter to that era of superhero movies.
But nah, ain't no love for Johnny.
He actually survived the Annihilation Wave btw, not actually a death.
I referenced that if you listened before commenting
- Luke
nice legos in background! pls show us your collection one day
"Slug it out with the hulk" eehhh. Not really he always gets knocked out
He can still stand his ground which is insanely impressive. I’d like to see half the avengers do that
Bro spoiled the exact fantastic four run that I’m in the middle of reading 😭😭😭😭
Rest in peace Full Fat Videos Cow! You will be missed from the profile pic spotlight
It would have been nice if he'd flamed Cassandra after begging only to get skinned anyway
Again I still don't believe that's the human Torch we know but a variant. Well hopefully.
He didn’t get nerfed. Pyro controls fire. Silver Surfer took him down with a choke and by removing his oxygen. Its both very hard and very easy to take Johnny out
You know how powerful Silver Surfer is right?
@@petermj1098 The Thing could've done the same thing too, so it's not about Surfer being a cosmic tier threat (depending on continuity) but that he just happened to be resistant enough to Johnny to actually choke him out in flame form.
IMO I think the old channel logo was better, more distinctive and readable from a distance
Fan4stic could have been awesome if the studio didn’t screw it to hell
Are people just forgetting better is a storyline about Pyro and johnny? With the story pyro had complete control over Johnny. Johnny was literally under his control and couldn't fight back or do anything! It was thanks to Spider-Man, that Johnny was able to get control and get pyro a powerful right hook!
And as far as I saw and research that was the only "fight" that they ever had
I’m pretty sure I speak for everyone when I say I’d rather Johnny stayed than Electra 😭🙏🏿
Yeah I can't say I care about that variant whatsoever lol
Deadpool joked that they killed him to save budget 😂
Wait a minute, you forgot the 1994 Fantastic Four Film. And do you plan on making a Colossus video
I do wish they could've kept him around, but also if anyone could kill him it'd be Nova
Or maybe Pyro got buffed
For real, this movie is nothing but fanservice.
He wasn't nerfed, A, he was just a cameo, and B, he was up against Pyro, if anything he wasn't nerfed, he was outmatched.
Ya thats what im saying to
Funny thought, I was thinking, why can't pyro stop Deadpool guns by working by making the bullets impossible to ignite.
15 min Cameo = 26 mins worth of video
I mean I went through 5 movies two of which he was a lead so yeah?
Haha saw new icon and instantly thought Final Fantasy V
I aalso like to call Fan4stic "not so fantastic four"
Being more powerful is not the point, wolverine is stronger the Katie but her power just wins by default, sometimes that’s just how it is
I forgot about the good things in these movies
I'm not looking forward to the new F4 and frankly Joseph's casting is one of the reasons for it.
Its just a variation version for me. I dont care if they intended it to be the exact Johnny from the movies. Johnny wouldnt go out out like that.
Much like how i dont think the characters in No Way Home arent the actual characters from the movies. Just variations (except the spidermen?)
If you think those characters are the actual ones from the film, it completely ruins the films they are from.
So yeah, hes just a variation and my Boy Is still doing his thing in his world
It is so ridiculous Reed Richards and Johnny Storm are getting disrespected and killed before the new Fantastic Four movie comes out.
dawg u crazy if you think paul walker couldn't have nailed johnny storm
It kind of looks like theres a haze over your camera
Damn, that new channel art is horrendous. There's no character to it, bro.
Yup this sucks lmao and a bad opinion video to kick things off too
I don't think Downey is going to be playing Victor Von Doom. If I remember correctly, there is a comic book multiversal variant of Tony Stark that becomes Doctor Doom. Possibly due to some possession nonsense, but I do believe Downey is still mostly playing Tony Stark here.
Pedro pascal is great but yeah he's no Mr fantastic
Yeah Williams Scott would've killed Deadpool
Lol i didn't know Chet Hanks actually acted in anything
Pyro manipulating Johnny storm is actually from the comics
Idgaf ive always loved those 2 movies and always will
AVI ARAD ruined a lot of Marvel movies in the early 2000s
Mainly...
* Daredevil (2003)
* The Punisher (2004)
* Elektra (2005)
* Fantastic Four (2005)
* X-Men: The Last Stand
* Spider-Man 3
And now he's gonna ruin...
* Kraven the Hunter
* Venom: The Last Dance
* The Legend of Zelda
* Naruto
As long Arad lives, there's no hope
In The Punisher, during the scene where the mob is killing Frank's family, there's a salad that gets shot and 5 seconds later the salad is fine. I think about that continuity error every time someone mentions the movie.
Dude love your content. But please fix your camera settings or at least color grade your shots. It looks like its raw footage.
BUDGET!!!
love your videos!
Thank you!!
