    Good comparison and growing styles. Both growers have different styles and different struggles in their gardens but that’s what makes growing your own herb so special. Dry farming cannabis has been around a long time and it produces phenomenal smoke. Check out the farmers up in Humboldt and Mendocino who produce quality, dry farmed organic herb. Also check out some of the legacy growers from the same area and their different styles. It all boils down to quality genetics, good soil, good water and the sun. I think a lot of people “ over think “ growing in general and I’ve personally found out to just keep it simple……

    7:12 I think it's the other way around, indicas tend to be bushier and sativas grow taller but hella jelly (according to the breeder humboldt seed company) is a sativa with indica growth characteristics. I think that's the source of the confusion there. Great video, great plants and looks like an homage to quality of humboldt seed company as well.

    I grow similar to TD. I use ovals and squares and triangles and of course circles when I set up my in ground pots. Just start growing. I grew 7ft plants my first go around and it was very difficult. I had no idea what I was doing. I switched to indoor to get my knowledge game increased. After 3 grows indoor I went outdoor. Kept the plants small at first, I used 3 different seeds and everything was and still is organic. I compost everything, dead animals, food from dinner. It doesn’t matter what it is, I compost it. Make mistakes it’s how you learn.

    You have to harden the clones out side under some shade cloth 50/50 or a good shade tree for about two weeks before you put them in the direct sun. You could get a harvest of all one pheno type selected . Instead of a bunch of different pheno types of crosses of different seeds. Who knows what the buds will come out like!

    1 week before flowering, much up high around the base (brown carbon, leaves/stable bedding 👌🏼 cruched by hand 30cm thick, keeps her nice and cozy. Intermittently scatter banana peel, watermelon scrap into the bedding. This makes for the best restaurant in town for the microbiology. Let them negotiate the chemical compositions of the soil, their the masters!
    And they do so after actually communicating with the trees exact needs(live 24/7).
    Create an attractive environment & the natural solution comes running, and the don't want to live like us.

    7:05 weird, usually sativa grows larger than indica. But yeah the 30% of it's indica genes probably are just the genes that are most important for height =)

    • @stepper8584
      @stepper8584 Місяць тому +1

      @@HappySativas I did not put it correct into words I see, what I meant to say is that the genes for height of this plant are probably influenced highly by the indica genes, not that the entire 30% of it's Indica genes are just to determine height.
      Sativa does grow much larger/taller than Indica.

    • @HappySativas
      @HappySativas Місяць тому

      @stepper8584 for over 7 years scientists have proven time and time again at the worlds leading universities that 'there is no genetic distinction between the categories of cannabis known as sativa and indica'. So I was pointing out the sad truth in watching people argue about something which is quite clearly made up nonsense. Please read more books about botany and not get your information from stoner websites 💚

    28:00 we use a hot composted pea straw layered with a maceration of cardboard, blood and bone meal, last nights soup. Compost for 4weeks. This top dressing shall be high in phosphorus because of the composted bone meal added. I also add bentonite clay to the maceration as well as rock dust. Compost worms go nuts over this once placed on soil.

  • @comfortablynumb9342
    @comfortablynumb9342 5 місяців тому +6

    In my experience sativas grow bigger and indicas are typically shorter and bushier, but with hybrids those generalizations don't count much. The tallest plants I've seen in pictures and videos have been sativa plants, usually with a Xmas tree shape.
    Those are beautiful ganja bushes, no matter what strain, the "sativa or indica" thing is getting obsolete in my opinion.

    It might be a good idea to grow a few hemp plants purely for composting material to super charge the soil for your thc plants. If cannabis grows better w cannabis as the nutrient source this could be a useful hack to get ideal soil as soon as possible.

    • @OttoDidactic
      @OttoDidactic 4 місяці тому

      Cannabis will take in whatever you give it. Putting trimmings in compost will definitely boost trichome production and terpine profile. Be careful not to use plants that have health issues because it can spread and damage the plants. People have been doing this for decades

    Indoor or people that harvest more than 1 harvests per year outdoors you have to use bottle nutrient/dry. It’s readily available to the plant immediately there are good nutrient companies that have organic inputs.
    Organic living soil takes too long months to break down works great for these styles.

We understand you worship TD but not every genetic is the same i have a grow off next year same strains same plant clones only start same time. And the other none TD folks will also have very similar results.

    • @indee6190
      @indee6190 5 місяців тому +2

      Exactly. TD will run into more issues managing plants that size compared to Seth. Harvesting will be harder, drying will be harder. I don't like that you can't see through to the main stem on his plants...no wonder some branches are drooping. There could be a whole pest infestation in the middle of those bushes that he can't get to, plus it just increases the chances for bud rot and PM. TD should garden a bit smarter to really optimise all aspects of the grow.
