THANK YOU! Had only heard “US General is the way to go” and I almost bought one. Just came across this and at this price and quality it’s a no brainer as a DIY’er/Home Projects guy
I had an eye on this box for few years now, the price was $999 Canadian during 2021-2022 but of course it was Covid and everything sold out and supply chain was a mess… when it finally restocked 6 months ago, I got a notification and quickly check the item is now then $1500+ Canadian just to justify.. Thanks for the review, I’m probably going to get it from the US this time and most likely getting that blue color-way option that looks cool.
Yes, its quite crazy the price jump on some of these boxes for us Canadians when south of the border they are literally half the price! The blue looks awesome, no doubt you'll love it.
Just what I am looking for but unfortunately it looks like they aren't selling this box anymore, only in the standard duty. I like the deeper top full drawer and the height of the middle drawers.
I made a "bit" for my Husky table specifically for that. It works well. I do notice that if I raise it too fast, there's a sketchy-sounding "screech" that comes from inside the machinery inside the table, so I just raise it slowly. So far, so good.
Great review, thank you. It's nice to hear from more of a prosumer/professional use aspect. How far do the drawers pull out with respect to the front (ie how much of back of drawer is inaccessible when open?)
Thanks man, glad its helpful. As for the drawers and how much of them are covered, the top drawer is almost 5" of drawer hidden when fully pulled out, while the other drawers are about 2". Thats probably my only real gripe about the box since the top drawer is where I go into the most.
The box is great and suits my needs perfectly because of the size of my garage and really needing a box that doubled as a workbench. But if my garage was bigger and I had room for actual workbenches, I would have spent the extra on the HF box. But if you need a workspace that is substantial (especially depth wise) then this box ALL day. It is good quality all around.
@@hpbunker thank you. Are you able to provide links? Sorry to ask. I will try and see if I can find them. I just bought this exact tool chest. Oh and are they magnetic or did you bolt them on I am also seeking to see if there is a way to convert the casters to leveling legs. Not sure if you know if this is possible on this cabinet. If you do please share how. lol.
Is there any way you can think of to put one end to the other? Making it 104. The handles would have to come off. Then it looks like the electrical panel is blocked. It doesn’t seem to be movable. I was just thinking about making one long workbench. I have one already ( lime green) very nice box. But I could use another.
Yes the electrical panel is unfortunately not easily moveable. Im sure taking the back of the box off you could possibly re work the panel to the other side, but not sure how worth it that is.
We get so screwed in Canada. I just want a 46in or 52in husky and they’ve gone up about $200 over the past year and a half. We also get screwed how there is no power bar
Yea, tell me about it. The flimsy base ones here cost the same as the heavy duty ones stateside, and they have all the features that you kinda need in a toolbox you plan to keep or grow into.
@@hpbunker anything you recommend for someone who can’t really travel stateside for a tool bench? The best options I can see right now are still either the Husky’s or Canadian Tire Maximum work benches. But both are pretty similar and lack features compared to our southern neighbours.
@@matthoffman6962 if you arent planning to move the box a lot (up against a wall like mine) and dont have a LOT of heavy tools and need something right away, I'd try the basic husky or mastercraft boxes like you suggested and just be aware of its limits- I used a 26" husky top and bottom chest for years before upgrading to this, but I knew not to overload it. But if you have time, I'd try scouring kijiji and marketplace for one of the more expensive boxes used. I also tried the milwaukee boxes in store, and even though I wasnt a huge fan of the layout on some, they are nice boxes, and there were always lots of used ones for sale near me just because of the giant milwaukee fanbase out there. Good luck!
Sorry for the late reply, mine locks all drawers. I totally forgot to mention that feature in the video just because I never use the keys. Hopefully you still have time to maybe get it warrantied or fixed
That I am not sure about. There was nothing about what its weight capacity is to be able to lift the top in the instructions or even in the product description...atleast not that I saw. I had about 50 lbs on it and it lifted no problem, but I have not tried loading it to see what it would lift, or even lift repeatedly.
Yo, i'm seeing this on HD at the moment for $719. Is this correct? The milwaukee 61-inch work bench i really wanted went from $848 to $1,498 U.S. California today. On sale today for $1,198 this is Crazy!
it was $600 on sale at HD for a long time. i picked one up at that price. i unfortunately told the delivery guys to put the movable casters on the wrong side, and not it's too heavy for me to fix it alone lol. dont make my mistake!
@@rollthers3157 I have the keys under the top right now, and a ton of crap on the top, so I can't lift it to check. But judging by the lock slot, its yor standard toolbox style keys if that makes sense?

This is the box I was looking at. Great review!
Thanks Jeff! My goal was to be informative for those considering this box, so I am glad it helped.
Thank you, I wanted to see that the top drawer has double slides
Thank you for this review. I was trying to find a review of this box.
Great review...helped me very much, Thank you!
Glad it helped. Happy New Year!
Im looking for a new tool box, i want this type of style where i can use the top, ill have to go to home depot and see if this box is on display
Just what I am looking for but unfortunately it looks like they aren't selling this box anymore, only in the standard duty. I like the deeper top full drawer and the height of the middle drawers.
I’ve seen people raise and lower this using a drill. Wonder if you’ve tried that? This box is on my list to purchase
I have not tried that, but I also rarely ever raise the top on it since I dont need to access whats in there very much. Not a bad idea though!

@@hpbunker Good info to have about the hidden drawer area.
How deep is that top drawer which has your sockets in?
I am deciding between this box and the harbor freight us general 56. Are you still happy with your purchase and how do you think they compare?

Thank you for the reply. I just picked one up at a good price. Looks like they might be discontinuing this box
@@hpbunkerwhere did you get your matching side mounted baskets?
@@angelad75all of the stuff mounted on the side, like the glove holder, power tool holder, and tray and chemical holder are all from Harbor Freight.

I have one, and the dang top won't open back up. Trying to find a way to get into it with out breaking it all to hell
When you lock it do all the drawers lock?
Yes, all drawers lock with the key. Forgot to mention that in the video since I never lock the box it being in my home garage.
When you lock the box does every door lock? Only the doors on the left side of my box lock. I’m not sure if it’s defective

How deep are the shallow drawers?
