    Just bought a 46 in husky tools chest due to the highly rated reviews.
    With much better price than Craftsman, even though I work at Lowe’s and could have used my 20% employees discount recently but I like how the husky look and feel. I’m happy with my purchase , will take great care of its

    Excellent vid, very informative you covered a lot of boxes and bench-top boxes in a short period of time without fluff. That black Husky box for $648 was a steal, seemed like a Black Friday deal. I also like some of Harbor Freight's U.S. General boxes probably a step up in quality but less space and more money. The Waterloo built Craftsman boxes are also a good value the 2000 series and above are built very well. Young people out of tech school should go this route as you mentioned a good value for what you're getting, stay away from tool truck debt.

      All the old heads in my shop use husky and craftsman. The young guys all have snap-on, matco, mac boxes, and most of them regret spending the 10k on a box and filling them with harbor freight tools. Also, your shit lasts longer if you take care of it. Clean your stuff.

    I really hate that you have to yank the drawers open like that. So unnecessary. When will a drawer open up by itself anyway? Never. I also don't like the self closing at the end. Very awkward. Does anyone make these without this feature, or can this feature be disabled somehow?

    • @Jason-Samko
      @Jason-Samko  Рік тому

      I love the self closing ones so that your tools don't slide around. All you have to do it close it until it's close and the system takes it the rest of the way nice and smooth. Hate my tools and my liners all jammed up from closing to hard. Not sure if it's disable able or not

    • @furyofbongos

      @@Jason-Samko Doesn't having to yank the drawers open make the tools slide around likewise?

    • @Jason-Samko
      @Jason-Samko  Рік тому

      @furyofbongos never see a tool box that was hard to open. All the drawers slide easy

    • @williamrgrant
      @williamrgrant Рік тому

      @@furyofbongos I believe the reason they are hard to yank is you are charging up the gas piston when you open, which is what allows for the soft close behavior.
      Also, when the drawers are empty, the jerkiness is more pronounced. But when full of tools, the inertia of all that weight smoothes out the motion.
      Its like a suspension tuned for a heavy load behaves rough with a light load.

    • @roninbushito
      @roninbushito Місяць тому

      Yeah snapon makes them without soft close. Drawers are actually weaker with soft close slides.

    If you’re a professional mechanic you avoid these boxes they’re crappy. I’ve been down this road and they just don’t last. I recently bought a toolvault from strictly toolboxes and it’s the best toolbox I’ve ever had and it’s right up there with snap on for half the price yeah it’s pricey but when you’re a professional, he need professional tools and you get what you pay for… keep on rockin

      When I was a pro mechanic (6 years as a ase suspension tech) I had all snap on tools and chests. They were good. Broke tools weakly but snap on always replaced em. I got out of the business and sold all the snap on and got craftsman chests and tools from Stanley, lows, homedepot, craftsman etc. Chest are still flawless 30 years later and I rarely break a tool. Still use the crap out of them too. I'm very happy with the cheaper stuff. Now pretty much everything I buy is craftsman or harbor freight and could not be happier
