There's something very moving about Captain Kirk going to space. ❤ I'm glad William Shatner got this chance.
Keep in mind that only globe worshipers believe that masonic actorNuts with vintage technology took a car to the Moon 🌗😂. Not really. Captain Kirk went to space to benefit humanity, Shatner went to benefit himself.
@@oneskydog6768 These people don't understand logic. It's pointless to try. Most of their presentations involve children's toys anyway.. I'm not even joking
@@boss-anova I don't care what his reason was. As an actor he helped create something beautiful for mankind. I'm glad he got to see actual space in his 90's. I have a degree in physics partially because of the dreams that Star Trek fostered in me as a child. Let the man have his moment.
He’s genuinely overcome with emotion, good for him!
It's hard to believe that he's 90 years old. He still expresses himself the same way he always has, and he seems to function quite well. Amazing! I'm so happy that he got this experience!
The emotion he is feeling/trying to describe is being humbled. He is a small fish in a giant galactic ocean. Preserve what is precious to you.. We have 1 earth. Let's treat her better.
Hearing Mr Shatner caused me to be Excited with him.
How he explained our blue cover on our earth and then the entraced to blackness of space. The vastness of how great space is.
Glad he had this experience
A life changing one at that

For 90, he is in VERY good health and stature. Good for him for being able to experience that.. !!! And his description of it is so awesome. Live long and prosper, Capt. Kirk.. !!

The Captain finally went to Space. Nice.
Glad he got to finally see the real deal instead of a sound stage. Flat smat, the ride alone, and the view is unbelievable.
Oh my god!! This is so beautiful and moving. His childlike giddiness is overwhelming and just the sweetest thing. I am so happy that Shatner was able to experience the real deal. Live continuously long and continuously prosperous my Captain. ❤️❤️❤️
This sounds like it was his first real spiritual experience. So wonderful to see people try and put it in words right afterwards.
This is not spiritual there is no such thing as the spirit. He is emotionally.

Hotboxing in space yo!
Lol, and no staccato speak from Shatner this time. 😂🤔😁
Hahaha exactly what I was thinking. I would 💯 smoke a bowl before I ever went up.
@@ent66 pretty "high"
Patrick Stewart should be next so he can say "Engage!" to start the launch.
Or make it so number one
Honestly, even though I grew up with ST:TNG, and have never watched the original series, seeing "Picard" go wouldn't have quite the same impact, IMHO. Not that I wouldn't like to see it, but I'm happy Kirk went first.
I like Patrick Stewart... Piccard on the other hand? The producers of Star Trek should have just let Stewart be himself - Captain Stewart!
I'm not sure but when they blasted off it made me cry, and I hardly ever cry.
Don't know where that came from. I'm happy Captain Kirk finally made it.....
Same….exciting to get back into space race
Nancy I agree with you, I was so emotional myself I think those of us who grew up with William Shatner's portrayal of Captain Kirk is so branded in our hearts and minds and we were so Happy to see our Captain Kirk really go to space.
"Through the blue and into black" Shatner needs to TM that.
Isnt that a line from a popular song from the 60s/70s?
Neil Young already did
A wise William Shatner once said "space and sci fi are one in the same" love that dude
Mr. Shatner has fulfilled the dream, "To boldly go where no man has gone before." He is the first Trek celebrity and the oldest man to fly into space. Gene Roddenberry, a man of immense talent and ability, would be so happy to see his vision take flight, as it were, to show the people of this planet what they are truly capable of doing when they work together and put aside their petty hates and prejudices. I have been a fan of ST since the first show and it has enriched my life in ways I cannot even begin to tell you and I'm happy to see this historic event today. Congratulations to all involved. Blessed be.
To : Winnie Mitchell --- I feel the same and have been ( what I always called , instead of Trekker ) a devoted Star Trek freak since Sept. , 1966 .
Today is so special and emotional ! ----- Sharon in South Florida.
Yeah. I wish Gene could've gone to space. Would've been interesting to hear his thoughts. RIP.
He's emotional.
Congrats Captain.
Well done, well done.

Congratulations everyone! I am so glad you had a safe flight! And it is so wonderful to hear Mr. Shatner talk about his experience. I am so glad that he had a fabulous trip!!
I hope I'm half that good if I'm lucky enough to make it to 90
When you’re the second richest man you can spend $800 Million to send Captain Kirk to space so you can watch him be happy.
An obscenely outrageous waste of money, manpower and natural resources. All this for vanity. Playtime for the ultra-rich while the world becomes uninhabitable. Like they say - Let em eat cake.
@@amywalker7515 Several thousand people were employed for months. That’s a waste?
@@amywalker7515 the ultra rich are always the first to play with new technology. Just like cell phone, cars, and EVs. After a few years of innovation, the rest of us get the tech for way cheaper
Way to go Bill…no one your age, has ever gone to space! Hope you gave a salute to Bones, Scotty and Spock during the brief time you were up there 🖖🏼 =/\=
Captain Kirk in space FOR REAL! We expect to see some more interviews now...! Preferably with better sound - and without other astronaut tourists in the background talking to each other at the same time.
Fun fact: In ancient times, people watched the universe turned, they got tired after 24 hours ...
and call it a day.
He made me cry! What an experience of a lifetime!
I couldn't help but remember Christa McAuliffe. Thank goodness he made it back safe! Welcome home... Captain.
😭💔😭
Did you know that when the capsule separates from the rocket they call it the "Bobbitt Maneuver"?
Are you having me on?! 😂😆😂 That’s funny stuff right there.
Ancient reference alert 🚨
I despise Bezos, but will thank him for taking Schatner to space...
His life will forever be changed...all his thoughts on life and emotions and feelings will forever be changed by this experience.
He's 90 and hopes he never loses this feeling. Add if he's got another 90 to go.
Meanwhile, we're all hoping to just get to 90 at all.
His final frontier 😆🤘
Hearing less and less from Flat Earthers lately. LOL
They been debunked since Galileo...
@@Raydensheraj yeah, *we* all know that, but they're just a tad slow on the uptake.
I hope that someday millions of people will be able to experience this. Truly wonderful!
So happy you got to experience space, even for a short time. I hope one day I can too :)
Can't believe I watered up from seeing another man's joy from an experience
William Shatner: Earth is Life. Space is Death.
So profound. In only a way Shatner could articulate. ❤️❤️
He is absolutely spot on, 'everyone should have that experience'...or at least if you really desire it. It gives hope to the generation of kids that grew up watching Star Trek (my dads gen) and my generation X that grew up watching the reruns and the sequels of Star Trek/Star Wars and have a deep love of space and the unknown. I'm so proud of moved by his words and hope to experience what he did someday. Thanks for covering and posting this CBS. :)
There was _someone_ on the wing! Some THING!
But you couldn't see it in full daylight. Only in Twilight.
There HAS...got-to BE A WAY...to get THAT THING! Shatner said he doesn't talk like that. He used to though...
That was beautiful! I am glad they were able to listen and record. He was all human emotions!
I wish everybody was silent while he was describing something I wish I could see for myself
I like the juxtaposition of Shatner waxing poetic about the place of humanity in the universe and those behind him spraying champagne and taking selfies.
Space changes people forever
God the Great I Am … is the Alpha and the Omega …. There’s so much more !!
Yes He is Stacie 🙏🕊
Finally a feel good story.
Listening to him just ramble on and on about what he experienced because he doesn't have the words for it, is truly moving. And it couldn't have happened to a better person.
I love WS, glad he enjoyed that experience.
So, the rest of us who can't afford the $440,000 20 minute ride in a rocket ship will just have to imagine the experience vicariously through anecdotal, 3rd party accounts.
To : Roland19 --- I' m pretty sure that Bezos didn't charge William Shatner a cent. He's a big fan and Star Trek was Bezos' inspiration.
The only reason everybody can't go into space already is because of the Democrats.
The Lord made everything perfect a perfect balance.
This is the best describion of what it would feel like to go to space
He had a very humbling experience ! Seeing him so caught up in his emotions and gratitude made me cry.
I’m not very good with actor names, i was like “why did this chubby guy get to go to space”, now I know.
I like how they are leaving out the part where Jeff completely interrupts and disreguards William so he can spray people with Champaign like they are his rivals at a formula 1 podium
SHAKE....AND BAKE! If you ain't the winner - then you're a LOSER! ...Are we on tv right now? What should I do with my hands?
So happy to Shatner to have experienced this. Long live Captain Kirk...
If ever a man deserved to go to space, it’s Captain Kirk. Gave me goosebumps watching him.
he has gone full circle,he is now a spaceman, lucky man
Thank God they made it. I was having dreams of Challenger. The media kept making it a media event. Like the teacher into space.
To: hiiamrick ---- I was worried too , but about the G-force on a 90 year old. But , he is Captain Kirk after all and now has the glory he deserves for inspiring several generations of scientists and fans.
To boldly go where no MAN has gone before. Kirk's got guts.
The original and only captain of the enterprise 1701
Amazing. I hope to one day experience this
So happy Capt Kirk got to go up into space for real. He’s continued to work and enjoy life so this is an awesome experience for him, to touch the edge.
He's not your standard 90 year old. Still so very active and vibrant.
His wife that he killed... not so much.
He thought he was going to die xD
Totally do you blame him tho?
To boldly go...
They did a damn good thing here.
William Shatner had a revelation.
Way to go. Love that he was sent. Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry, gave us the dream and in some ways the future. But Shatner made it very real for us on the screen. He and his fellow Artist made us believe in something more than just ourselves. Made us believe we should be one race. The human race. So glad he took that ride into the stars and got to see how beautiful this planet is and to remind us how we need to take care of our home. Live long and prosper rocket man.
He helped me understand WHAT he felt!
Wow. Wish I could hear him.
just turn up the sound.
Me too. His first reaction being so raw would of been his best.

He became enlightened with the trip and it shows. Welcome to reality Captain.
"To body go where no man has been before. Turns out, it's mortifying and indescribable and at the same time, the most beautiful and amazing and rare thing that a human being could ever experience on this entire earth. To be so lucky, there are no words. I spent my entire adult life as an advocate of space exploration and now, I am a pioneer. There are no words."
Love you Bill. You are not just legendary, you are now historic.
So cool...❤
Lovely words indeed!
🎵Bah, bah-bah, bah bah bah bah baaahh...🎵
Wow he seemed to enthralled. Glad he got a hug lol
For a man that has experienced as much as he has. As famous as he has been as well as been well liked. Im sure he has entertained more ladies then we could possibly dream about. 🤣😅😅 For him to have a reaction like that I actually thought the same thing that what happens to your soul after you pass away. Thinking that you actually get to pass through all that and to experience it on a spiritual level. He's one of the few people that got to do it in his actual body!!! 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Overwhelming emotions & sincere words yet... No to those who declare such fragility or assume the earth & nature so weak.
This planet is Not so fragile, no it is Not so thin and vulnerable, and NO it is not this planet alone that is keeping us alive.
Rather it is the God of all creation, The Creator of this entire universe, He holds it all by His being.
It is He who has made us and not we ourselves.
It is He that has given us life & sustenance. Yes He has authorized us to be the caretakers to Love, cherish , care for & subdue this Awesome unique creation.
Giving Him glory by dressing and keeping this amazing garden that we all share with our brothers and sisters. We have been given free will & creative ability to use His Law & material.
Thanks for sharing such a wonderful experience. It should make us all want to Love & help our neighbours & familys
Giving all praise to the Lord Jesus Christ from whom all blessings flow. ❤️
They clipped off the first part of this... where Shatner is sharing his emotional thoughts and Bezos turns away mid thought and sprays everyone with champagne and does the Woo Hoo whoop it up... before he figures out how to come back and listen to his invited guest.
I couldn’t handle the G Force. I’m so happy for him. ❤️❤️
I REALLY wanted to hear what William Shatner had to say. I am glad he was finally able to say it. He did not disappoint. Everyone needed to shut it while he spoke. Hahahaha
I have always respected this man.... and today is no different.!!!!!!
im glad he made it back ok, hes a national treasure

It could have been a full Star Trek episode if one of the Kardashians was on the flight.
Well, apparently Sam from Sex and the City was onboard. Lol. Kim Catrell finally took her most orga$mic ride into space!!! 😉
My mistake. Apparently she did not make this flight. Boo. ☹️

Boldly go captain, boldly go.
Excellent!!! Captain Kirk is now a true Cosmopolitan. I wish we could all experience this kind of profound human experience.
BEAM ME UP SCOTTY! Go Captain Kirk! Time to do it again soon....! BTW. Kirk looks damn good for 90.
A very short trip for a man that deserves it! Although, I bet I could get more space time with a DIY balloon, cooler and go-pro camera.
This guy is 90? I thought for sure he was 70 something..
Was waiting on him to say what Warp Speed really feels like.
I feel sorry for the starship enterprise right now. After all its travels with captain Kirk, he gets all emotional over a quick rocket trip to the edge to the Earth's atmosphere. Enterprise literally took him all over the universe in comfort and at warp speed...........
What would be better is if we had warp capabilities and he was able to actually experience warp speed.
Good for Bill to experience space. To bad though he didnt fly SpaceX and landed on space station and then return to drone ship pick up.
I feel bad for the rest of the Enterprise crew.
