Race Report video #3 takes us back to Sebring International Raceway, this time in 1966 so we have in many ways a direct sequel to RR#1. There are some rather graphic images contained in this video of the crashes that marred the race, so viewer discretion in that sense is advised. Thank you so much for this presentation. Wonderful job, I appreciate how much source material you gathered for this!
@ 10:50 These are Alfa Romeo TZ2s, no Ferrari Dino 206
Thank you so much for the great Videos! I‘m three hours into your content and I can’t get enough. Please keep the race reports coming, the views will go up eventually!
I finally got to LeMans in 2000, but never made to Sebring, Now it feels like I have actually been there back when it was a good growing race. Thank You, Dennis my favorite segment was interviewing Ken Miles. He was so valuable to setting the cars up.
4:47 Appreciate the ingenuity of the spectators for coming up with that. I'd have loved to see the race from the elevated van.
I think Briggs Cunningham was also the inventor of the aptly named device called the, wait for it - 'Cunningham' that was an eyelet near bottom of the leading edge of the mainsail that a hook was fastened that tension could be applied to which had the effect of flattening the sail to spill air to depower when sailing close to the wind.
You are correct. Quite the talented chap
It's a shame you didn't mention the Alfa TZ2's in the thumbnail - and the image when you were talking about the Dino 206
Oh just commented the same
How do you mistake a TZ2 for a Dino 206?! Hardcore enthusiast…
Ahhh, it’s JUST two AUTODELTA’s with Udine plates🍀🍀😎
I second the person above saying he hopes you get more subs and view. Just watched the 65 race on this channel yesterday and now this. The extra info is great. Thanks
Much appreciated!
@@lenslr I shall subscribe. 👍
Awesome video! Can’t wait for more, really enjoying this series so far
Thanks!
Brilliantly put together, narrated and loved the sarcasm 😊👍what a fantastic video
Marios Ferrari doesn't look like it was damaged by sand...Definitely leaves one wondering. Great historical re-cap of a memorable Sebring.
Great video. You put a lot work into this..... very enjoyable.
Thank you!
Even without the TZ2’s and Porsche 904’s being elaborated on it’s a nice video. Thx for that
I guess I'll have to do a follow up on those Alfas at the very least. Thanks
Great presentation! Thank you! 🏁
I very much enjoyed the video. Liked and subscribed. One small nit. At 14:25 you refer to Miles co-driver as Jack Ruby. I believe it should be Lloyd Ruby, not Oswald's assassin. Thanks for your work and keep it up!
Yeah, missed that one. All through scripting I knew I was going to make the mistake in recording, tried drsparately not to, listened to the recording twice before publishing (admittedly with a glass of scotch in hand), still managed to miss it. I wish there was a way to re-upload a video to correct for those sort of small things without having it reset everything.
It was a small nit to pick. I watched the video again with a glass of bourbon in hand and it disappeared!!
I am so glad UA-cam suggested your video! I hope more people get the same suggestion I got because you deserve way more views. I subbed to your channel and left a comment and a like, hope it helps. I really enjoyed this, thank you.
Thanks! It's a slow build but all good things to those who wait, I suppose
Let's hope you get WAY more subs, you deserve them!
Great video, much appreciated
Chaparral's didn't have an auto box, they were manually shifted with a torque converter, fluid flywheel
Fantastic commentary!!
Excellent stuff well done 😊
The cars shown at 10:50 are NOT Dino 206es, they are Alfa Romeo TZ-2s.
I clicked on the video only because I wanted to see the TZ2s.
Just discovered your channel and was very pleased and impressed. Also greatly enjoyed your facility with the English language.
Thank you! I took one of my degrees in law and then didn't make use of it, so perhaps that's the root cause.. Haha
I'll buy that, I am sure this is much more interesting.

@@slotcarpalace penalties for getting one's information wrong are a lot lower. Hahah
In 1966 I was standing at the fence and witnessed the Porsche hit a big fuel tank on the side of the warehouse. We also saw what caused the car to spin.
What did you see that caused the car to spin, if I may ask?
The cutaway shown at 6.56 is of a Ferrari 330P4 (from 1967), not a 1966 330P3.
Excellent, thanks
Thank you for such a relaxed delivery to the race details..loved it!👌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'll have to watch it again to decide what I truly feel about your narrative style. Right now I'm on the fence between refreshingly cheeky and irritatingly self-conscious.
And an interview with Bob Holbert, who I presume is the father of the excellent Al.?
That's correct
@30:23 Mario Andretti "thinks" he hit a sand bank. @31:30 shows damage to his car,
I love Sebring.... drove it many times, always in video game form 😉
Can someone please tell me what kind of "car" is this @-> 10:41 ?
Thank you for the amazing video... very well done 🙂👍
The Beast? It's an early attempt at aerodynamic streamlining applied to a Cadillac body by the genius of Briggs Cunningham - the French called it Le Monstre because of its size. That photo is one I took at Le Mans Classic, it's actually replica built by one Mr. Derek Drinkwater
Carol Shelby - legend. 👍😎 34:15
Just a tuner...never produced a single engine
Stewart/Hill, what a crew🙄🙄🙄
These race cars in toys aré vry funy on my race track hotwheels by Mattel nice Vidio boys 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊😊
In regards to safety, I went to Le Mans in 2017 and you couldn't get yourself killed there as a spectator if you earnestly tried.
How do you do THIS MUCH RESEARCH and get the TZ2s wrong? Holy smokes man! Do better!
Because, like all other befleshed human beings, I am prone to mistakes. So glad you enjoyed it.
~stay kind~
