I've been listening to all of his shows every night, all night, for the past year. Love to hear some new ones, I nearly have them all completely memorized.

I'm a Historian myself and I absolutely love this channel. As a blind person, I particularly enjoy the little sound effects here and there, thunderstorms, waterfalls, people marching through the desert... it really transports me through time into that world. There's another history-related channel I really enjoy called Geschichtsfenster. That guy focuses on the European Middle Ages, especially the HRE. His episodes are always very specific and go into great detail. For example he can easily spend 2 hours talking about the diet of peasants or women's fashion in late medieval Germany. By contrast, Paul takes the bird's eye approach, covering millennia and thousands of square kilometers in a single episode. Paul's videos are also very refined, using professional voice actors etc., while Andrej from Geschichtsfenster basically just presents sources and lectures without much editing, so it feels like sitting in an university seminar. Both styles have their charme in my opinion and I like to switch back and forth between them because they complement each other so well.

Egypt always keeps me in awe. A civilization ancient even by the standards of other ancient societies like Rome and Greece. It truly is mind-boggling how far back that land's history stretches 😊
Best thing about this Podcast series is the level of interest it evokes about the civilization it covers. The writing of "Egypt: Fall of the Pharaohs" podcast is completely amazing. It is so clear and compelling that once I started listening I was happily hooked! That meticulous research went into making this presentation is obvious. Ancient hieroglyphics are given new life through dramatic readings, while the narrator provides a concise and interesting discourse on this fascinating period in human history. I have listened to and enjoyed several other "Fall of Civilization" podcasts and they are all wonderful. But there is something special about this one... perhaps it is the glamour of ancient Egypt and its bygone pharaohs. I just know it is an excellent production and source of information. Many thanks to the creator for his hard work, creativity and commitment to historical accuracy.

Also, they break the information down so it is easy to visualize and understand. Thank you so much for your hard work.
Not only the best history presentation series ever made, as so many have said, but the most beautiful main theme of any history presentation as well. Every note feels heavy and deep with meaning.
The smile on my face when I saw this in my subscription feed. You're my favourite content creator. Not only has your fall of civilisation series shown me that education can bring joy, but it has been my greatest comfort in some of my darkest momments. Thank you and anyone who has contributed to these masterpieces The immersive level of detail presented in these are truly art.
I agree, man, the way you can just get elevated an lost in his descriptions about the past makes you feel like you're there, so you're not here in the current situation.
Hits it out of the park with **4 hours** of Egypt? I’m in disbelief! That extremely high bar has been raised once again by Paul and the entire team. Insane!!! Can’t wait for the accompanying visuals!!!
You and Carlin are legitimately the best historical content creators I've come across. This cannot be an easy task. I appreciate your hard work so much dude!!
Sweet. I often have trouble sleeping because of anxiety but your Fall of Civilizations podcast always calms me down when im having a hard night and allows me to sleep after an hour or so. Thanks so much for the great content.
Yes!!! So excited to listen to this later tonight! I've literally listened to all of your podcasts and most of them at least twice. Thank you so much, Paul. You are by far the best. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication!
The timelines of Ancient Egypt blow my mind. It was ancient by the time the Greeks and Romans came around. Cleopatra is closer to us in time than the Great Pyramids were to her.
The Greenland Vikings, Roman Britain and Carthage wander through my mind periodically. I’m glad to read this is something that’s shared with others. It’s surely a sign of the masterful manner with which these stories are regaled.
Dr. Cooper, as a passionate former student of the Classics, your documentaries are truly singular among a sea of lower-quality "content." Thank you for the work required to bring this information to life.
Goosebumps, all over, the poetic parallels in the end at 3:50:00 crossing eons of time. Words forgotten, but the human connection remain. I always love this channel for the way you weaved history into a relatable narrative. It really helps drive home that these aren't just names and dates in a book, but people who once lived.
Sometimes left to wonder how those talented, often doomed poets & artists can hit me in the chest and freeze me before their utterly perfect phrases, songs, expressions. That poet was tapped into the wavelength, no doubt.
This guy makes hands down my favorite history content across all media. Every time a new episode drops it makes my day (or maybe a couple days, depending on how long it takes me to finish the episode)
Seeing this show up in my feed while getting ready for bed is the one thing positive in an otherwise disappointing day. I truly appreciate the work you do Paul. I can't offer enough praise.
Listening to Spotify today at work, and a fall of civilizations episode starts playing… I think wth, Spotify doesn’t replay old episodes that have already been played. Then I looked at it and said… “18? There’s no way that’s new” and I am visibly shocked that this dropped today. Hopefully it won’t be years to listen to another of these masterpieces. I am lucky that I found these when there was already 17 in the catalog available to binge. Thanks Paul cooper for one of my most cherished podcasts that gets me through a tough work day out in the world.

It's hard to explain how fond I am of this podcast, the quality and immersion is without equal. Can't wait to hear this story again when the video version comes out!
I want to thank you for this. I've been listening to this channel to get through episodes of cluster headaches. It is calming and mellow and helps me keep my sanity during intense pain.
I check your channel regularly for new uploads and to think the day after my vacation a new one arrives. I'll have to make time in the next week to sit and listen to this with no interruptions. Something about these videos require time alone to think and reflect on the epic stories you tell. Nothing on UA-cam or any other media has even come close to making me feel the way your content does. A perfect mix of human emotion and historical knowledge allowing me to transport my mind back in time to these places of wonder and rich history. Thank you for all you do and thank you for allowing me to peer through this window you create, right into the heart of our shared human past. So excited for the journey this time to Egypt. One I have been waiting for the most. And will be looking forward to whatever else you create in the future. I am poor so cannot financially support right now but I can always give a view and a like to such an amazing channel and wish you nothing but success!!!!!
The part about poor Snefru trying to build his pyramid but it keeps copllapsing or sinking into the ground reminded me of that Monty Python scene where the guy keeps trying to build a castle in the swamp. "The third one burned down, fell over, and THEN sank into the swamp! But the fourth one... the FOURTH one STAYED UP!"
I’ve been waiting for this one for a loooooooong time. Your production value and thoroughness is incredible. It got a lot of us through COVID, etc. thanks so much for what you do.
I can listen to this again and again. Often go to sleep with it on. Been to Egypt many times as an independent traveller up and down the Nile Valley and this really brings it to life, all the temples and archaeology suddenly have a reality and living breathing people around them.
I keep getting this channel autoplaying as the follow up video whenever Im trying to go to bed. I usually watch a lot of true crime/ horror. Its been 3 nights in a row now and at first I dont think i thought much about it. It means a lot what you do. I appreciate it. Change is uncomfortable sometimes and difficult. The little things like this remind me of being a child again. Thank you
My friend and I were rewatching/listening to all the previous episodes as we were having withdraws! Thanks Paul for keeping history Alive!!! You are a legend!!
The music that plays at the end of the introduction (7:50) is so fitting to the genre. Every time i hear it is so moving and thought provoking. Every episode 10/10. Thank you.
It has become one of the most moving pieces of music that I hear, stirring excitement for the journey through stunning cultures that the peerless narrative evokes.
The quality of your content is absolutely unmatched! The writing, the delivery, the production, all of it is absolutely top-notch. I have watched your videos many times and I always come back to them with the same feeling of excitement and awe. I must particularly compliment the pace of your delivery (you also have a very pleasant, relaxing voice which is a great perk) - it's not too slow and not too fast. The loudness of the audio is also perfect. Additionally, letting us hear the voice actors reading parts of the quoted texts in the original language is a wonderful choice which lends more authenticity to the stories. Stellar work! Looking forward to the book!
My favorite podcast and UA-cam channel! Pure quality! The production, the amount of research that had to be done is worth the wait! Please keep on doing this thing you do!
Yes! It's wonderful that Paul gets all of the love he truly deserves for the huge amount of time and effort that he puts into making these masterpeices!
That was extremaly well done take on whole Egyptian history! ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥 I am very glad to mentioned Crocodile Queen 👸🏽🐊 Sobekneferu (too many people think Hatshepsut was first female Pharaoh, when she wasn't) and that you didn't end on Persian conquest but went all way to Cleopatra the Great 👩🏻🦰👑🏛🔮🏺 and mentioned her skill in speaking Egyptian 💗💗💗 (she is my favourite Pharaoh and it is always nice to see her included - I don't like when people are excluding Ptolemies from ancient Egypt history, as they were as much its part as Libyand and Nubian Pharaohs!). I think this podcast is perfect for someone not familiar with Egyptian history, as it explains well the most important things. I just recently discovered your channel and I am absolutely in love after watching analysis of Aztecs and Incas - I wish there was more talk and documentaries on them and I am glad I found yours❣❣❣
Thank you So So much Paul! You and your team have not only helped me relax at night but also have reignited my passion for the ways the world once worked at all different times in history with such class and no pretentious chatter lol. Keep it up! Such a talent should be praised and thanked.

I listen to your channel every single day and it never gets old, thank you for sharing your talent with all of us on here I know we all appreciate it beyond words!
I just hope this man and his team are living comfortably. Sharing knowledge like this is a gift to the people. I have a busy schedule and these videos allow me to learn about my favorite subject on the go for free. I don't have to buy books or dedicate days to reading through one.
Thank you and anyone who has contributed to these masterpieces
The immersive level of detail presented in these are truly art.
I agree, man, the way you can just get elevated an lost in his descriptions about the past makes you feel like you're there, so you're not here in the current situation.
Same here, these episodes have been comfort in tough times
Immersive?
Hits it out of the park with **4 hours** of Egypt? I’m in disbelief! That extremely high bar has been raised once again by Paul and the entire team.
Insane!!!
Can’t wait for the accompanying visuals!!!
Seeing a new video from this channel is like a gift every time!
You and Carlin are legitimately the best historical content creators I've come across. This cannot be an easy task. I appreciate your hard work so much dude!!
I love the fact that no matter how much I have learned about most of the civilizations already, I always learn more from these podcasts.
Sweet. I often have trouble sleeping because of anxiety but your Fall of Civilizations podcast always calms me down when im having a hard night and allows me to sleep after an hour or so. Thanks so much for the great content.
Same. Not anxiety but over active brain…calms me…
Yes!!! So excited to listen to this later tonight! I've literally listened to all of your podcasts and most of them at least twice. Thank you so much, Paul. You are by far the best. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication!
This is my favorite podcast not just because it's informative but because Paul Cooper's voice is mesmerizing.
The timelines of Ancient Egypt blow my mind. It was ancient by the time the Greeks and Romans came around. Cleopatra is closer to us in time than the Great Pyramids were to her.
These episodes always leave a lasting thought in me. The Sumerian episode still pops into my mind every now and then.
For me it’s everyday
Sumerians is probably my favorite
@@chadrowe8452 It such deep history. It's almost like an alien planet. Mammoths were still around when those guys were building cities.
I have a special interest in ancient Egypt. I can die happy now that Fall of Civilizations has covered it. Thank you all for everything you do.
There is something about Egypt that calls to many like no other
Goosebumps, all over, the poetic parallels in the end at 3:50:00 crossing eons of time.
That poet was tapped into the wavelength, no doubt.
bro, i fall asleep to these. your voice is so calming, it's like an informative sleeping pill. thank you,
This guy makes hands down my favorite history content across all media. Every time a new episode drops it makes my day (or maybe a couple days, depending on how long it takes me to finish the episode)
Been expecting the next great episode!!!!!!! FANTASTIC!!!!!
Everytime I hear that piano... Goosebumps! Thank you for the best content on YT! ❤
Thanks! recommend this to everyone who likes history/is fascinated by declining civilizations
Your work is sublime. Thank you so very much.
Thanks Paul cooper for one of my most cherished podcasts that gets me through a tough work day out in the world.
welcome friend! you're in for a ride!
discovered him randomly at the height of quarantine, having ran out of things watch and listen to, helped process the whole affair better
Thanks!
This series is exceptional. That piano in the intro gives me chills. Its so perfect. As a musician who makes music for media, its utterly perfect.
Instant LIKE. You guys just made my day, I've been a little depressed/stressed lately and your beautiful documentaries are so soothing for someone that loves history. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Y’all’ve made flu day fun! Thanks Fall of Civ - Best podcast ever!
I live for these podcasts😭 Definitely my favorite UA-cam channel, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve rewatched all the others just waiting for a new one lol. Thank you for all the work you put into these ❤
Same
I’m addicted to Fall of Civilizations! I listen to them over and over!
Thank you for the wonderful work.
This is absolutely the best podcast out there! Thank you so much for the quality. This episode was particularly beautiful and thought provoking, what a great tribute to a captivating and mysterious civilization.I really just cannot give enough accolades.
Paul, you host the best history podcast out there, and it isn't even close! These long form podcasts are the next best thing to having a TARDIS.
Absolute gold on so many levels: incredible research, captivating storytelling, immersive soundtrack… my favorite podcast and youtube channel by a mile.
Oh yeah, I'm pumped for this. Fall of Civilisations is one of only a select few channels that I have notifications switched on. And Egypt & the Pharaohs 😮
Wish it could be more. Truly appreciate your hard work. Thank you. 💜
Thank you, very kind of you
I put this on to go to sleep. I actually love this podcast though. A lot of effort goes into producing information like this and making a show of this magnitude. There is an unbelievable amount of information here.
My child like excitement at a new upload is obscene given my four decades on this earth. Thanks mate. Your documentaries are amazing
Six decades in myself so I understand. On my third rewatch.
It's hard to explain how fond I am of this podcast, the quality and immersion is without equal. Can't wait to hear this story again when the video version comes out!
Man that first voice actor...so much feeling in his narration...truly a master of his craft.
I can't express my gratitude in words. Thank you again and again for making time travel real
I want to thank you for this. I've been listening to this channel to get through episodes of cluster headaches. It is calming and mellow and helps me keep my sanity during intense pain.
Hope you feel better soon!
My greatest surprise of the week was seeing a new video of yours posted.
Thank you.
Nice, been a minute, and this will be the grandest trip down the Nile. Stoked.
Thanks Chris, glad you enjoyed
I've been checking back day in and day out for the last 2 weeks hoping for a new episode, so thankful to see it's ancient Egypt too!
OH MY GOODNESS A NEW FOC PODCAST!!! EGYPT!!! AND 4 HOURS!!!!!!! I’m ecstatic. Thank you Paul 🙏
Yeeey!🎉
What an unexpected birthday present!
Thank you!
Aww happy birthday!! Super cool prezzie! Enjoy dude!! ❤
Happy birthday many happy returns 🎉
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday internet stranger!!
My thanks to all four of you!
I can listen to this again and again. Often go to sleep with it on. Been to Egypt many times as an independent traveller up and down the Nile Valley and this really brings it to life, all the temples and archaeology suddenly have a reality and living breathing people around them.
Four hours and is worth every minute of it. Will watch again if the illustrated version is uploaded.
I truly hope so. The only thing more awesome than pyramids are pyramids in 4k
Thank you
You never know if you've seen the last 1. Thanks for another 1 mate this channel is the best of its kind.
I just assume there will always be another one. Well worth the wait each time.
@@caiusofglantri5513 YES YES YES!
Man I have been falling asleep to this the last couple of months. I appreciate your work.
THANK YOU PAUL.For taking us on a voyage through time again. Peace be with you and all of the people behind the scenes who help make this possible.
It is in times like these that I would like to say "Thank you, Paul Cooper"!
I can not describe how happy and excited I became as the thumbnail from this video showed up in my YT feed seconds ago :,)
My favorite podcast and UA-cam channel! Pure quality! The production, the amount of research that had to be done is worth the wait! Please keep on doing this thing you do!
What did I wake up to
this had me dreaming that I was in egypt and exploring the pyramids LOL
Same 😂
Same I had the weirdest dreams too
El Bagdaddy 😂
The best History/ASMR channel on YT
Thank you and welcome back! Fantastic channel!
102 comments in 12 minutes, you love to see all this support for a channel as amazing as this one!!
Yes! It's wonderful that Paul gets all of the love he truly deserves for the huge amount of time and effort that he puts into making these masterpeices!
Okay your coverage about cats! "And for the cats? It is perhaps something that they have never quite forgotten" had me giggling!
The only podcast I can listen to for 3 or 4 hours and still want more.
Visiting Egypt was one of the great experiences of my life. Looking forward to this podcast.
This new episode dropping has made my Thursday, the wait is over. Best content on UA-cam.
Best content on UA-cam! 👍👍
I'm dying waiting in anticipation for the live camera shots and graphics version to be released!
Thank you So So much Paul! You and your team have not only helped me relax at night but also have reignited my passion for the ways the world once worked at all different times in history with such class and no pretentious chatter lol. Keep it up! Such a talent should be praised and thanked.
Another fantastic addition! Can't wait to watch again with visuals. Very much look forward to the book as well. Please continue chronicling our very own demises... perhaps we'll collectively learn something!?
The ONLY channel I have notifications on for ❤
