I've tried to find other history podcasts to fill in while I wait for these episodes, but it's all dissatisfying after this. The only one who compares is Dan Carlin.

I've been listening to all of his shows every night, all night, for the past year. Love to hear some new ones, I nearly have them all completely memorized.
I'm a Historian myself and I absolutely love this channel. As a blind person, I particularly enjoy the little sound effects here and there, thunderstorms, waterfalls, people marching through the desert... it really transports me through time into that world. There's another history-related channel I really enjoy called Geschichtsfenster. That guy focuses on the European Middle Ages, especially the HRE. His episodes are always very specific and go into great detail. For example he can easily spend 2 hours talking about the diet of peasants or women's fashion in late medieval Germany. By contrast, Paul takes the bird's eye approach, covering millennia and thousands of square kilometers in a single episode. Paul's videos are also very refined, using professional voice actors etc., while Andrej from Geschichtsfenster basically just presents sources and lectures without much editing, so it feels like sitting in an university seminar. Both styles have their charme in my opinion and I like to switch back and forth between them because they complement each other so well.

I completely agree with this OP. The podcasts and videos of Fall Of Civilizations are without a doubt the highest quality of all that exist. I'm proud that I was 1 of the first to say this, and I'm very glad so many others have joined me. It would grieve me greatly if Paul wasn't getting the credit he is due, so I'm SO very glad that he is being credited as the Master that he is! I can't wait for him to finish the video of this one, but that will take a LOT of time. That's ok though, because it takes time to create the masterpeices that are Paul's hallmark. I'll be so excited to see it, when it comes, so the waiting will be hard, but it will be so worth it! Thank you so much Paul, for the wonderful work that you do! It would not be enough to simply cover the very end. The writing of "Egypt: Fall of the Pharaohs" podcast is completely amazing. It is so clear and compelling that once I started listening I was happily hooked! That meticulous research went into making this presentation is obvious. Ancient hieroglyphics are given new life through dramatic readings, while the narrator provides a concise and interesting discourse on this fascinating period in human history. I have listened to and enjoyed several other "Fall of Civilization" podcasts and they are all wonderful. But there is something special about this one... perhaps it is the glamour of ancient Egypt and its bygone pharaohs. I just know it is an excellent production and source of information. Many thanks to the creator for his hard work, creativity and commitment to historical accuracy.

What a treat to the senses. The mind and imagination forgetting the present day and open to the past with enthusiasm. What a great podcast, loved it. My favorite Dynasty was the 25 that of the Nubians proud of their race and yet even more proud of their kingdom. Protecting it with fearlessness and athletic ability against the invaders of Kush. All the dynasties telling an historical timeliness that inspires all of us today. The impact is monumental. We must take heed or we will not succeed.

Best thing about this Podcast series is the level of interest it evokes about the civilization it covers. While it doesn't go into the details, the fantastically (almost always emotionally) presented overview guarantees the listener to research more and reach for those academic journals and books. I always love this channel for the way you weaved history into a relatable narrative. It really helps drive home that these aren't just names and dates in a book, but people who once lived.
Sometimes left to wonder how those talented, often doomed poets & artists can hit me in the chest and freeze me before their utterly perfect phrases, songs, expressions. That poet was tapped into the wavelength, no doubt.
I just hope this man and his team are living comfortably. Sharing knowledge like this is a gift to the people. I have a busy schedule and these videos allow me to learn about my favorite subject on the go for free. I don't have to buy books or dedicate days to reading through one. I can listen to this again and again. Often go to sleep with it on. Been to Egypt many times as an independent traveller up and down the Nile Valley and this really brings it to life, all the temples and archaeology suddenly have a reality and living breathing people around them.

I am lucky that I found these when there was already 17 in the catalog available to binge. The part at the end about the man who wrote the last hieroglyphic message, and his plea for those in the future not to forget about ancient Egypt while he lived the Ptolemaic dynasty made me emotional. I never expected a human connection with somebody who died almost 2000 years ago.

The part about poor Snefru trying to build his pyramid but it keeps copllapsing or sinking into the ground reminded me of that Monty Python scene where the guy keeps trying to build a castle in the swamp. "The third one burned down, fell over, and THEN sank into the swamp! But the fourth one... the FOURTH one STAYED UP!"

I think this podcast is perfect for someone not familiar with Egyptian history, as it explains well the most important things. I just recently discovered your channel and I am absolutely in love after watching analysis of Aztecs and Incas - I wish there was more talk and documentaries on them and I am glad I found yours❣❣❣

The writing of "Egypt: Fall of the Pharaohs" podcast is completely amazing. It is so clear and compelling that once I started listening I was happily hooked! That meticulous research went into making this presentation is obvious. Ancient hieroglyphics are given new life through dramatic readings, while the narrator provides a concise and interesting discourse on this fascinating period in human history.
I have listened to and enjoyed several other "Fall of Civilization" podcasts and they are all wonderful. But there is something special about this one... perhaps it is the glamour of ancient Egypt and its bygone pharaohs. I just know it is an excellent production and source of information. Many thanks to the creator for his hard work, creativity and commitment to historical accuracy.

What a treat to the senses. The mind and imagination forgetting the present day and open to the past with enthusiasm. What a great podcast, loved it. My favorite Dynasty was the 25 that of the Nubians proud of their race and yet even more proud of their kingdom. Protecting it with fearlessness and athletic ability against the invaders of Kush. All the dynasties telling an historical timeliness that inspires all of us today. The impact is monumental. We must take heed or we will not succeed.
This is, by far, the best channel on UA-cam. It blows my mind that you make this content available to people for free. These are such important stories. I really can't put into words how amazing these videos are.
Best thing about this Podcast series is the level of interest it evokes about the civilization it covers. While it doesn't go into the details, the fantastically (almost always emotionally) presented overview guarantees the listener to research more and reach for those academic journals and books.

I can listen to this again and again. Often go to sleep with it on. Been to Egypt many times as an independent traveller up and down the Nile Valley and this really brings it to life, all the temples and archaeology suddenly have a reality and living breathing people around them.
I put this on to go to sleep. I actually love this podcast though. A lot of effort goes into producing information like this and making a show of this magnitude. There is an unbelievable amount of information here.

The timelines of Ancient Egypt blow my mind. It was ancient by the time the Greeks and Romans came around. Cleopatra is closer to us in time than the Great Pyramids were to her.

Listening to Spotify today at work, and a fall of civilizations episode starts playing… I think wth, Spotify doesn’t replay old episodes that have already been played. Then I looked at it and said… “18? There’s no way that’s new” and I am visibly shocked that this dropped today. Hopefully it won’t be years to listen to another of these masterpieces. I am lucky that I found these when there was already 17 in the catalog available to binge. I love the fact that no matter how much I have learned about most of the civilizations already, I always learn more from these podcasts.
The part at the end about the man who wrote the last hieroglyphic message, and his plea for those in the future not to forget about ancient Egypt while he lived the Ptolemaic dynasty made me emotional. I never expected a human connection with somebody who died almost 2000 years ago.

The part about poor Snefru trying to build his pyramid but it keeps copllapsing or sinking into the ground reminded me of that Monty Python scene where the guy keeps trying to build a castle in the swamp. "The third one burned down, fell over, and THEN sank into the swamp! But the fourth one... the FOURTH one STAYED UP!"

A perfect mix of human emotion and historical knowledge allowing me to transport my mind back in time to these places of wonder and rich history. The quality of your content is absolutely unmatched! The writing, the delivery, the production, all of it is absolutely top-notch. I have watched your videos many times and I always come back to them with the same feeling of excitement and awe. I must particularly compliment the pace of your delivery (you also have a very pleasant, relaxing voice which is a great perk) - it's not too slow and not too fast. The loudness of the audio is also perfect. Additionally, letting us hear the voice actors reading parts of the quoted texts in the original language is a wonderful choice which lends more authenticity to the stories. Stellar work! I think this podcast is perfect for someone not familiar with Egyptian history, as it explains well the most important things. I just recently discovered your channel and I am absolutely in love after watching analysis of Aztecs and Incas - I wish there was more talk and documentaries on them and I am glad I found yours❣❣❣
