Less than 20 seconds in, and dude is beasting...geez. I had to go back and listen to that several times.
Youth=Brilliancy
THIS VIDEO CHANGED MY LIFE!!!! I'm very grateful!!!!
good alternative technique! I actually usually assign to the device "on" instead of track on but decided to keep it simple for the video. But... I like using the device on better because it saves on CPU and allows to you use fx like delay to transition better
Yet again such simlple ideas and yet so effective ,thanks zach ,keep posting
mad zach and mr bill are legends!!!
thats a remix I did for G Jone's tune, "Drift" :)
The pitch decay is sick!
Mad Zach gets better and better

Super tight video Zac
Why Thank You Sir Mad Zach
this just opened so many doors. thanks for posting.
Macros are the mappable knobs included with racks and are all handled in software, whereas MIDI is mapping to your controller itself. For example, you can map a number of parameters within a rack onto one macro, then map this macro to one of your MIDI controls.
Super useful tutorial Zach! Thanks for sharing these tips.
Very helpful with the beat repeat thing. Helps loads with a rack I've been looking to put together.
Great tips as always.
Thanks Andy.
Fantastic work again!
mad zach's whole personality is great
In a rack. If you have all of the chains selected, you can right click on the chains and hit "Distribute Ranges Equally" That will save you a lot of time when mapping many different chains to a knob.
GREAT!
this kid is my hero!
You are facking good at what you do. DJTT is lucky to have you on their team! Thanks for all the tips. Can we have more Maschine videos?
Great video made thanks!
thats a remix I did of G Jones' tune "Drift" you can grab it on my soundcloud :)
jaw drops...... wish i knew this in 2014 when i snagged the ol' Push. Great vid/info Z
Great job!
yeah!
I wanted to do a whole tutorial on chains, I do like to use them!
BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!
no, those are soundpacks, some of which you can get in my soundpacks volume 1, and the rest are coming in volume 2 (coming soon!)
I usually assign to device on instead of track on which fixes the CPU issue as well. Witht that bit though, the video just dragged on too long so I had to cut it!
Thanks a lot brother' :))))
super cool turtorial.
hey zach just got the midi fighter 3d and its sick, thanks and also thank the guys at dj tech tools for me:)
1:10 *PRESSES BUTTON*
*sounds awesome*
"See? Sounds terrible"
with the instrument rack. its much better to stack all the instruments you want. click the chain button just above your instruments. pull the bars out in the zone editor so they go all the way across. right click the area and choose distribute evenly. midi map the little orange tag above the zone editor. Done.
usefull, as always !
nice tricks
GOOD STUFF AGAIN....from Baz Bangkok =D
this video is great
Very cool!
Awesome!
Dude where the hell do you live it looks like a christmas morning outside your window at night, in my opinion best working conditions ever!
yes
good tip but why post it so many times?
I think you can click Chain and select the chain from within the effect rack. that plugin Mapulator seems like what I've been looking for, because the map menu only allows a min and max
super rad how your keyboard backlight is throbbin...
its in the project file as Saturate!Records - G Jones - Mirage - (STRTEP016) - 11 Drift (Mad Zach Remix)
how does this promote a product? We are focused on educating and informing. We don't sell Ableton - although you're right jam sessions are awesome :)
What's is that piece of hardware you are using bro??
So... the midi fighter pro with spectra buttons.. where would I get one of those?
Dose anyone know the sitar sample he uses in the 4th drum rack and the sample he used on the 2nd drum rack?
when we download the project file, has it got all those samples?
Does anyone know if there’s a way to click something and quickly adjust it with a knob without having to map it and save it ? It’d improve workflow to a crazy degree if this is possible.
Nice 👌
what is that device called with the knob on it?
Awesome Video! I'm trying to map switching channels under one knob, but it seems impossible. It would be awesome with autoarm on, only one knob for channel selection and one knob for Volume would be Amazing for liveloop sessions!! Does anybody have an idea how to do this?
How do you get your keyboard to flash like that?
This! Would probably be less CPU intensive as well because you aren't triggering every rack at once
what's a good 64 bit max plugin like Mapulator? downloaded Mapulator but it doesn't work on 64 bit ableton
hey zach can you and ean make like a freestyle from the rack at 00:20
how did he have led light up arcade buttons when his using a midi fighter PRO not a 3D?
go in the description and it will take you to there website and u can download it there
ive got windows 8 and for ableton 8 ish for some reason cant just drag and drop the soundpacks into the intrument rck . anyone have any suggestions? Mad Zach
I think I found a new idol *.*
Hey man love the video's! Just wondering if this technique is effective in traktor pro 2 or will it take up too much processing power. I was thinking of modifying the map I currently have to add the delay nearing the end of the high filter pass. Let me know what you think would be a good way of accomplishing such effect in traktor.
Thanks a lot for all of your video's, they help so much.
angel
I'm surprised he didn't map the rack selection through the MIDI-mappable chain selector. Seems like a much more streamlined approach, and certainly more "kosher" in terms of upgradeability and ease of use.
just wondering... what is this device called?
whats ur drum pad called, sorry for shit question
yea old school stuff , but still useful ... ableton still works best as a rewire device from FL studio
do you know if its possible to have mapulator in ableton 64 bit? +Mad Zach
max for live comes with similar defaults -- www.ableton.com/en/packs/max-live-essentials/
And that’s when we were given the eq3 :D
i didnt relise i did. sorry?
anyway i appreciate the video. I am definitely putting mapulator into my default template.
G Jones - Drifting (Mad Zach Remix) :)
Make a new MIDI track -> set the track input to the Midi Fighter PRO(I think) and the output too.
Chain select and trigger samples with knobs:
medium.com/@neaumusic/ableton-live-knob-twist-play-sample-738b2f298863
Why not just use the chain select instead of going through the hassle of editing the track on, and having to reassign each and every one of the 0-127 values every time you add a new chain? Edit the chain select, and the only thing you have to change is the 0-x value of the single knob where x is the number of chains minus one, and the implied 0-127 values will automatically redistribute themselves.
I know you guys are trying to promote your products on this channel, but how about doing some awesome jam sessions?
Lomovolokno as background music.
6:13 hits table, cause realized he missed all of the daylight
do chains!!!!!! they're so much easier dude!
thats hilarious
Sorry didn't mean it in a negative way :/ I did enjoy the video though :)
does not work with ableton 10
This is a bit advanced for some.

What a horrible controller
