It feels weird not hearing my gunshot booms, reload clicks, dash pulses, or enemy attacks at the same time. It's so intrinsic to the song to me now, it honestly feels incomplete without gameplay.
I can't recommend this game enough if you're into music. It's a rhythm-based FPS, and the reason the song has such a strong driving beat is because you have to do everything to that beat. Shooting, jumping, reloading, etc., and if you can time half-beats you can essentially get extra actions.
Fun fact: every song on the soundtrack is exactly 88 BPM, because an intrinsic part of the gameplay is shooting/reloading/evading in time to the music. On lower difficulties, your abilities simply won't work if you do them off-beat; on higher difficulties, you take damage as well. It's not my favorite game, but it's definitely something worth experiencing.
I honestly prefer having later stages have a slightly higher BPM to increase difficulty, as is norm for rhythm games, but even without it the game is still ebic.
I really didn't expect that to be the case and I've beaten the game before. I know the shop theme etcetera blend in but I thought each main chapter would have had different BPM As you move on
So the thing with Bullets Per Minute, is that the gameplay revolves around the music. Your shots, your reloads, your attacks, your dashes, etc, all need to be in line with the music. So you really are tied to the BPM. If you want more of this, I recommend the next song in the OST, "Judgement".
"The Crypt" is better enjoyed in game but it's still great... To be fair as much as I love the game you can get almost as much enjoyment from buying the soundtrack.
The music is crazy enough on its own, imagine how it sounds when you're also performing every action in a loud FPS on beat, including chunky multi-part weapon reloads
Hearing BPM's music again gets me REALLY damn excited for Metal Hellsinger, a game with a similar premise that's got some of the biggest names in metal all coming together for the game's soundtrack. It's gonna be incredible.
This is one I was not expecting. Bullets Per Minute is a rhythm based FPS where you shoot, reload, and dodge to the tune of the music and you get score multipliers based on how well you time your actions. Probably why I only do good when I get unlimited ammo and the minigun because I have no rhythm and this item combo lets me ignore them almost entirely.
This game is such a hidden gem. And they knew that since it’s a rhythm based game, the music was a core piece of the game and they really got it right.
This game is so satisfying to play when you get in the groove. I almost wish they made an OST that included all the random shots and reload sound effects...
This game has a very unique way of doing things, even with the music as it is being awesome - needing to match your shots, your reloads, with beats and half beats for some reason adds to the music. And the entire game sounds amazing
Oh! Fun Fact: when the music amps up? That's the boss music for the level. Also the power chord at the end? You control it in game. That's right, YOU decide how it goes.
I see a bunch of people commenting that you need to time your actions with the music and while this is true, it even goes a bit further because using your shots, reloads, and actions you can effectively make your own instrument to go along with the song. It's not the best game but definitely something worth experiencing.
One thing I really like about this game that most music games don't have is that your movement itself is not locked to the beat. You have a lot more freedom and you don't have to plan ahead every time like you do in games like crypt of the necrodancer or mad rat dead
one thing i love about this soundtrack is this one is BPM's E1M1, first floor first, first level type stuff, i've been LOVING the other bits of this OST
I kinda feel like music is incomplete. Game incorporates shooting and reloading sounds etc into the music beat and it sound so fucking better when you are fighting monsters and everything happens at a beat.
ok, if you liked this you'll love the entire soundtrack. I still believe the game was designed around the soundtrack, not the soundtrack being made for the game.
If you like this song, I'd highly recommend checking out Carpenter Brut for music you *can* check out without spoiling potential VGM. This track has a lot of similarities to one by him called Leather Teeth, but he has a *lot* of jammin' tunes.
Just found your channel not long ago. Enjoying your takes on music. Love music myself, especially in FFXIV. Since you don't appear to play you might not be aware of how tied to the game's story and lore the music is. Deeply so. The lyrics themselves often tell a tale that is a part of it. That aside, I have a few recommendations that I think you might enjoy. There's a lot of fantastic game music out there that is oft overlooked. Here's a short list, do with them as you will. FFXIV - Thorden Boss Fight -Heroes ua-cam.com/video/-cZHfOs2XOc/v-deo.html FFXIV - Ishgard Day Theme (Also one of my favorites in the game. It feels weird not hearing my gunshot booms, reload clicks, dash pulses, or enemy attacks at the same time. It's so intrinsic to the song to me now, it honestly feels incomplete without gameplay.
the woes of listening to rhythm game soundtracks outside of the source game
My mind immediately autofilled the missing sound
especially with the revolver, i think that's the best gunstrument in the game
i absolutely love those moments where the guitar just sings
I forgot to mention what those creepy noises were around 3:49
That's just scraping the pick along the guitar strings very slowly :)

"Machinations" is a banger too though
"The Crypt" is better enjoyed in game but it's still great... To be fair as much as I love the game you can get almost as much enjoyment from buying the soundtrack.
My favorite ones are this one and "Depths of Helheim"
I request you to listen to the whole soundtrack so you dont have to suffer anymore.
and the suffering continues
BPM is basically “OST: The Video Game”
2:09 literally gives me the hardest chills :O so good
The music is crazy enough on its own, imagine how it sounds when you're also performing every action in a loud FPS on beat, including chunky multi-part weapon reloads
I can't hear the soundtrack without imagining the sounds of a revolver to it. It's too good.
An interesting note is that the last few notes happen in time with your shots when the boss dies.
Hearing BPM's music again gets me REALLY damn excited for Metal Hellsinger, a game with a similar premise that's got some of the biggest names in metal all coming together for the game's soundtrack. It's gonna be incredible.
BPM, the game for people that enjoys music with such a passion, 10 out of 10 i would bought it again.

You can tell they were having a blast with this when they were making it. It sounds like pure love for rock.
We need a reaction to the whole album, it's worth it
Aw man, thanks for reminding me of this gem.
This game is so satisfying to play when you get in the groove. I almost wish they made an OST that included all the random shots and reload sound effects...

You have such a great charisma, it's so fun to watch your reaction and musical insights!
You even have the GTA 3 song as the background. Dope channel.
Oh! Fun Fact: when the music amps up? That's the boss music for the level. Also the power chord at the end? You control it in game. That's right, YOU decide how it goes.
BPM has been on my wishlist for so long now lol. Gonna get around to buying it someday for sure

3:14 love this
Hell yeah I did search for the OST of this game after I've seen this video. Pretty awesome request and good video.
This game is very great. As aside from movement every action you do in game you must do on beat or halfbeat.
one thing i love about this soundtrack is this one is BPM's E1M1, first floor first, first level type stuff, i've been LOVING the other bits of this OST

thats why i love this game , bc the music , is soo good
I recommend checking "Take Control - Old Gods of Asgard" from the videogame Control from Remedy studios! Such an amazing song! You won't regret it
Can't wait for ya to react to Fight Of The Valkyrie or The Rhythm King
Damn this is a really cool soundtrack
Haha I never thought about that, you can't listen to VGM much on your own in case it's requested!
You should listen to Machinations in the BPM Ost. So far my favorite song and I think you might love it.
ok, if you liked this you'll love the entire soundtrack. I still believe the game was designed around the soundtrack, not the soundtrack being made for the game.

Head First - 6/17 - Air Combat Original Soundtrack
Maybe you like that one too. To me its childhood nostalgia :D
Mirai Nikki - "Hard Mind World" is also nice. Mira Nikki has tons of good songs imo.
You seriously should play this game tbh
