Oh Miriam! I do adore you, but I must correct you. Halloween is most definitely not an American invention. Though I think we took it to a whole other level that the Irish never imagined! But, it's great fun for children here. Though the tradition of going out and "trick or treat-ing" seems to be fading away. But, really, it began as an Irish pagan holiday. Love you!
the modern way of celebrating it is VERY MUCH an american invention. it's less about spirituality as it is about dressing up, partying, and kids getting candies. the candy manufacturers in the us have definitely commercialized it further.
R.I.P Maggie Smith your be missed
You can see how much the hosts love her!
"you can be with somebody for years and years and you end up HATING them" she said to Phil and Holly 1:34
Her Scottish accent is brilliant, a bit regionless maybe which is fine but still great.
you could have stopped at brilliant
"Television is for kids isn't it"
That awkward silence following that statement killed me
6:00 when they finally talk about Maggie
Thank you.

That’s just a theory. That are also Christian origins to Halloween. Not everything is a pagan holiday.
