There is something about Miriam that everyone loves. I had to laugh when she reprimanded Nick on his grammar. Many many years ago my friend wrote to Miriam congratulating her for Dickens’ Women and Miriam wrote back to thank her and then the rest of the letter was her correcting her grammar and spelling in that said letter, so funny.
I'm lucky to count Miriam as one of my favourite friends. I can tell you, that what you see is absolutely what you get. She's a literal ray of sunshine.
You lucky thing! I'm so, so jealous! I have adored her from afar for decades. If there were ONE celebrity I could meet before I kick the proverbial bucket - it would be Miriam. Kiss her on the head from me ❤
cannot believe I've watched loads of these thinking to myself, 'oh my god how late do they record, it's pitch black outside, they'll have terrible heartburn when they go to bed!' to only realise now that's a black oven door and not a window in the background lol
Miriam's about as close to a self-actualized person as you can find. No airs, no bullshit, seems to extract maximal enjoyment from every moment of life, and to make everyone feel at ease and set aside their preoccupations. She fascinates and inspires me. Edit: The second I typed this and unpaused: 23:31. Feeling validated.
The reason why I love Miriam so much is just that you know what she's thinking, and you don't have to guess. I wish more people were upfront. What a fabulous human being.
I’m an American, and I’ve become obsessed with Miriam. I didn’t grow up knowing who she was, but I find her being an absolute gem. The way she speaks her mind and doesn’t give a flip about what people think is delightful. I think she’s my new spirit animal. We had Betty White, the UK had Miriam. I’ve made two tarte tatin, they were delicious!
I love Miriam and this was actually one of the best interviews or chats I’ve seen. It seemed very genuine and she was a real pleasure. None of her shock tactics for a change so it was lovely. Angela and Nick are just such good company too so DISH has become my favourite podcast by far. I am so glad I found it and have watched all that are on you tube. Can’t wait for more.
We love Miriam . No shame - “I’m greedy, and I love mashed potatoes. There’s a substantial amount ? Thank you Miriam! One does want a worthy sized serving that one can dig into. Yum! Edit: this was a marvelous interview. Miriam is so entertaining and down to earth. Cheers my dear lady 😊
She is just pure loveliness! Miriam should seriously consider making audiobooks. What a gorgeous voice she has! If only every audiobook was read by her! I love her DIVINE voice!
I love love love this podcast, just found it recently on UA-cam. So far Miriam is my favourite, I love to see people enjoying their food. So right about Hersheys, vile!
The problem for non-Americans is the way American chocolate is made. Unfortunately for people outside the US, a byproduct of making it is a substance called butyric acid. Americans are used to it, but it's also a large percentage of the makeup of human vomit.
Oh my goodness, love the Miranda reference at the end "SUCH FUN!", best show ever!!! And I will say loving this podcast that I only just discovered, now I have to binge all episodes 😁
There are so many wonderful spots in every show➡they all string themselves together into lovely layered mobiles. And each one is a piece in it's own right. The spirit of fun & generosity seems delightfully contagious. Hits the spot everytime. Thank you all!
Miriam says she not into clothes, but i think the way shes dressed here shows a lot of style, the hat and glasses definitely arent generic, and the top/scarf combo is very pleasing to the eye.
OH MY GOSH! I have seen Miriam here and there in certain media but I never knew anything about her. And ive never seen or heard DISH until today. Well to say that i am absolutely thrilled would be an understatement. I have completely fallen in LOVE with Miriam. My goodness what a captivating personality she has. She draws you in and holds your attention so well. Her energy, her humor, its top tier! Chef’s Kiss! When she said “Well i wont come for nothing, I’ll pay” just shows you the type of kind hearted and supportive person she is. I could listen to her all day. What a great interview and episode. Well done!
Miriam has 2 books out, & they are both on audible! She reads both, but she voiceovers for many books! She's so naughty, raw & honest! Such an absolutely beautiful soul!
I am recovering from surgery and finding things on UA-cam. I'm an American but I absolutely love Miriam Margolyes and watched your video. I'm subscribed now to your channel I bought her other book but didn't know about the book on your video. It's now on it's way to me from Amazon as I ordered it the instant you held it up and I saw I didn't know about it and had to have it. She is a wonderful actress and I remember her from the Rowan Atkinson show Black Adder as my first Miriam moment and followed her ever since. Thanks for having her on.
My favorite podcast, with my favorite actress. Miriam, if you need an IT person, here I am. I'm retired, was in IT for 25 years, before becoming an English teacher. I could always explain in laymen's terms, so that my staff would understand. Angela and Nick are the best, I could listen to Angela laugh until the cows came home.
I’ve never seen this youtube show/podcast and just stumbled on it because I devour Miriam content (and maybe because I’m American). This show is like watching good friends chatting and laughing around the table and it gives a comforting feel. I can’t wait to watch more episodes. Miriam is a treasure but so are the hosts. Like old friends that I just met. ❤️
Miriam is one of my favorite people on the planet. If you've ever seen The Invention of Lying with Ricky Gervais, she lives her life like that and I so respect it. I try to do the same. Brutally honest with a touch of humor.
We do eat raw onion with some things here too sometimes but it’s usually very thinly sliced as an accompaniment. Like thinly sliced raw onion on a burger or with a sandwich (especially - we do add raw onion to several things with cheddar cheese).
I’m from the Atlantic provinces of Canada, Nova Scotia to be specific, and smoked herring (kippers) are delicious!!! I have both dried and tinned in my home all the time!!!
I just stumbled on to this podcast. Brilliant. Great hosts, guests, and food. I’m in America but watch a lot of British shows. I know and love all the guests. Well done.
Miriam reminds me of my own granny who passed in 2020. In many ways she is nothing like her, but in her mannerisms, her curiosity, her optimism, her humour, and her general joie de vivre, she reminds me of my own gran. She even looks a little like her. Makes me miss my gran all the more, but she IS a national treasure.
17:23 Nick struggled to hold back from laughing because Mairiam was talking with a mouthful. For quite some time you could hear her chomping away. Wonderful interview!
Dark rye bread with butter is the simplest yet most versatile meal/snack you can have. I am pretty sure that most Latvian people's blood consists of 50% dark bread and 50% potatoes. 😁
Same were my family come from Georgia potatoes are a main staple of food but it like that all country's around here Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus , Lithuania etc it all potato and bread 😂 we also eat alot of mutton which is also common
I love this podcast. Subscribed the first time I saw it. But this has been my favorite guest, food, everything. Give us a close up of the food when served please? Much love and best wishes to everyone everywhere!
Are what we see here the entire podcast, b/c sometimes the video seems like it skips to another frame? Just wondering if I should be looking elsewhere for the "full" podcast. Thank you.
I absolutely adored every second of this podcast. My soul is smiling and my day is a little brighter for it. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful interview. Thoroughly delightful in every way.
I found the history bit about Le Caprice very interesting! The "Jeremy and Chris" they mention are restaurateurs Jeremy King and Chris Corbin and yes, the restaurant they mention (Arlington) is already open.
Absolutely bloody brilliant love it love it love it....best answer " Vaseline " sheer genius ... thank you for brightening up a less than perfect Sunday 😂🎉❤
She is absolutely delightful, a true original, and impressively naughty. I have adored her for so many years. Excellent guest and a wonderful interview. Thank you for treating us all to her singular, incredible personality. 💙💙💙💙
she's a true character, reminds me alot of my grandmother who also loved the royal family to pieces, had a whole collection of big pretty hats like queen elizabeth the second wore
Excellent job creating the feeling of being there. The sound (slight echo to capture the space in the back of the mind), the light is gorgeous, everything is perfect. A breath of fresh air on here, thanks for the effort. I feel like I have eaten with Miriam. Truly, a life enriching UA-cam experience. Sooo human. Well done.
This is fast becoming the best Podcast out there.
Such fantastic guests!
I just wish it was longer
Absolutely
it’s more of a tv show to me than a podcast lol
It’s definitely one of my favourites. It’s my only foodie podcast.
I adore Angela's whole vibe. So confident and genuine

I want a 10-hours podcast with Miriam, *such* fun to listen to her)
I haven't listened but I believe Nick mentioned she has an audiobook?
The audiobook is amazing. It’s one of a few times I would not buy the actual book. I wanted to hear her voice.
BOTH her audiobooks are incredible
She is really one of a kind. What a great podcast this is. You guys made my day!

Nick definitely dropped in that national treasure bit just as a jab at Stephen Merchant 😄
This was filmed in 2023
