Dom, I've been a Cubase user for a nearly 15-20 years. The boost and inspiration your channel and videos has given me as a producer is huge. I use your channel in my everyday producing and come often back for new and old techniques to apply to my songs, thanks and keep up the good work! 🙏
same here, bro
your way of explaining stuff is so understandable. unlike most other youtube mixing tutorials. thank you
I love Dom for this service to humanity it's a great privilege to be a partaker of the great tutorials you give. Much love from Ghana🇬🇭
YES DOM! A video on each instrument would be AMAZING! been needing this for like forever! Look forward to it! ✅✅✅
Excellent, Dom! You're a natural teacher, awesome musician & superb engineer. Love these! Molti grazie!
Love it!!! Would love to know your compression techniques for different instruments, as you mentioned, especially orchestral/cinematic instruments. Cheers!
Dom, you're like the only content creator I follow regurlarly on youtube.
I'm learning all the time!
Perfect timing (again!), Dom! I’ve been working with a track where I was struggling to get the drum sound I was looking for. After watching this video I dove back into the parallel compression channel I already had, tweaked some things and…voila! An energetic, full drum sound with snap. Thanks, mate.
Dude ur energy makes us all wanna mix and enjoy! I think its awesome to record in your studio with your presence.
Even for stuff I already know it is always a pleasure watching your videos, Dom! And certainly there’s always something to be learned
Great video as always. YES a video on each instrument. I have learned so much from your videos.
Dom, thanks for the lesson. Finally, PC explained in a way that’s understood! Great job!

Amazing explanation, finally i understand the "dot" thing in the send FX :)
Great explanation, as usual. Thanks dom !
Great stuff Dom 🔥really helpful
Parallel memories... thank's Master...!!!
Thanks so much, this is super helpful to me for making my drum tracks sound more alive!
Hi Dom!. Thanks for this video.
As many compression techniques videos as possible please. This one was great. Thanks Dom.
And again, a great vid. I have watched your video on PC for vocals many times as it is very new to me. I used it for the first time this week. 👍👍👍

Grrrrrrrrreat videoooooo!!
thank you so much
Thank you sir
Great video ❤❤
Ahh hay Dom, you seem to be doing a few more regular Cubase tings, all very good, I really enjoyed the FabFilters review/tutorial, what a great piece of software that is, recently added to my arsenal, I’ve been dabbling with Cubase since Win98 I even tried to get it to work on a win2000 once, ridiculous I know, NT, but such was the thirst to get it to work, obviously back in the day and now after several years of operating the hacked versions I finally bought 10.5 then went to 11 and after a lightning, USB2 ,dongle frying episode I went for that groovy update offer to Cubase 12, WOW Thank you for drawing our attention to the offer still running …very cool ….the lightning also took out the UiR24 which I’m still waiting 3months later for DV24/7 (never again) to replace or repair!!! Hey love your videos and advice and perspective ….rock on dude Peace…
Yes please, a video on parallel comp for the bass guitar and drums
Parallel Dom-pression 👍
// Compression for Bass video would be really welcome! Thanks in advance.
...or Limiting... I think many people use a limiter
Аmazing as always! Thanks, Dom.
Am I the only person that has seen so many of these videos they now talk themselves through Cubase logistics in Dom's voice? I do....
Good brother 🔥
I'm new here ..very helpful bro
Great! Regards
Dom have the most interesting und useful vids of all. Thanks!
In thought about to use a clipper from Sir Audio Tools or L2 from Waves and see what happen for a test as well.
Thanks its so usefull thanks. How about making one of these videos for electric and aqustic guitars ?
❤❤❤❤good sr
Great stuff! Thank you. Would you ever use the smashed drum sound, or vocals, or anything, with more mellow genres, like folk rock, Americana, singer songwriter? Or are these genres too "dainty" for this?
Hi Dom, I like your videos, especially older ones, about guitar and piano plugins and keyboard drumming. Can you please make a video about playing congas on keyboard. Are there any good plugins. I know almost every DAW and general MIDI has congas, but those sounds are very limited. There are multiple tones you can play on real congas, such as open tone, muffled tone, closed slap, open slap, mini slap, bass tone, etc. Also there are conga, tumba, super tumba (there are multiple names for similar drums) which can be tuned differently. I don't think most drum kits let you tune conga to G or G# and tumba to C or C#, for example. Thanks.
I really needed this video 🥺
Hi Dom, any chance you can do a video for parallel on vocals, synths, guitar and piano pls. Thanks
Hey Dom, I don't know if you still read comments on this, but I was wondering what this song is? I've heard it in many of your videos and I love it! Maybe somebody here knows what song this is?
I don‘t know if I‘m overthinking this, but I set up my mixes with a group for each instrument where i sum up the instrument signals and all specific parallel or send effects before I send them to the next group where I then add the returns from i.e. NY Compression or Rear Bus Compression. So in the end I have a tree where only two groups (one for instruments and one for voice) are sending their signal to my mix bus or stereo out. Or should I go more easy on groups and send my effects directly to the main/mix bus?
Hello, Dom , Can you provide with a tutorial where you let us know what should we do what exact treatment we should do with a Strings ensemble group tracks? Tintin from India
Buuut ... if you create a send and then mix this additional effect channel in, don't you also add loudness with every bit you add, so you will always have a louder signal than before in the end? This makes it difficult to evaluate if the new drumtrack really does sounds better, (or just louder)?
You're great man!
I use it for things like ethnic preccussion instrument that lack low-end and "punch"
I've been using paralel compression to bring up to the front weak parts like everything around it was hiding it , things that started wrong in the main balance
Which plugin or setting would you guys use if you wanted to add a bit of room ambience pre-parallel comp because on real drums the magic, to me, is in the super-compression of the room ambience
Hello Dom how are You
its okey to make it for each VCA Like for Strings And Vocal Group or only for Drums
I have a question: is Wavelab cast and Wabelab pro still needed for audio production or mastering? Or can all this be done directly in Cubase? Thanks
Hello Dom Sigalas . the piano on the Yamaha montage sounds better than the DGX 670 - 660 cvp. The quality of the piano and the sound. I use 2 Hs7 monitors and a Yamaha Hs8s subwoofer. Please answer me . thank you very much . Horia
Hi Dom, when I create an FX channel track for parallel compression and I send the signal I want to compress to it,does it have the channel effects (e.g. EQ, compression etc) from the original channel or is the signal dry? So let’s say I have a vocal track. I add EQ and compression to that vocal track and send that vocal track to an FX channel for parallel compression, is the EQ and compression applied to the initial vocal track still on the parallel signal sent to the FX track or is it dry as if it was recorded straight into the audio track with no effects?! Hope this makes sense. This is for Cubase pro 12 specifically. Thanks in advance.
Hei dom, whats the version of the song “Complicated” you play here ? 😊
Can I do parallel compression on groups if I already have other compressors on the separate channels?
Your Joy make the difference with the others
Yeesssssssss that's what I'm waiting for
" Great !! But also, I can't seem to be able to properly set VST System Link (preferably spif). The online nfo is very little. And the Cubase 12 manual does not clearly explain how to exactly accomplish it. It would be a godsend to have someone explain it in detail. I've bn trying to figure it out for years to no avail. I would greatly appreciate it if you could do a video on this - Thank you "
What are you trying to do with System Link? :) I don't use it to be honest, if I was using more than one computers I would probably go for VEP :)
"@@DomSigalas I was trying to sync up two cmptrs, both running 12.0.4 Pro. Yet., there is very little up to nfo/videos on this Thank you. btw; *VEP* (???).

Can this process be used on vocals?
and there is a problem with Control Room if i use (MediaBay) the Sound Go Any Help
Are there issues with parallel compressing everything in a mix?
FIRST 🥇
it looks like you literally did the slowest attack an release on the 76?
I thought fast attack would be .1? not 7.0?
Yes, that threw me off. Not sure why he set it to the slow attack and release.
How do you make that top line in eq to stay fixed? 🥺
Hey Lukas! Which line are you referring to? :)
@@DomSigalas hi, I ment the line that shows peaks in eq window. Like white that stays even if youbstop playing the music
@@perkunas7 When you have your EQ opened, you have a gear icon on the top right. Click on it and choose Hold FFT Post EQ Peak Curve.
What about the other way? Direct Routing? Whats the difference?
Pros/cons of each angle?
How can i mix and master my song production with you dom ? Please answer i tried to contact but failed
Hello my friend! Did you send an email through my website? Let me know , it might have been caught by our spam filter :)
Thanks Dom. i owe you another pint!
all this time i was doing very very bad the parallel comp.. haha always in post fader :(
Hi Dom! Hi everyone! Anyone knows if he's using Windows 10 or 11? Thank you!
I can show you how! Let know!
3:02: What I'm not seeing is how you're sending a COPY of the audio to the Sends slot named: =Drums. I watched the other video on vocals (ua-cam.com/video/dvMwlGItZOM/v-deo.html) and both times I can't see where this audio copy is being added to the sends. What am I missing?
I don't get what =Drums or =Drums2 are.
Thanks!
Dude ok, we all love cubase but you can post new videos about things we dont like in cubase, it help to make cubase great. All other DAWs improves user experience day by day, steinberg shuld work on outdated UI immedietly.
Hi Dom, great tutorial a usual. What are your thoughts with this parallel technique compared to your sends technique?
